Awesome. Simply Awesome. I'm glad Mystique made the list from X-Men. Certifiable in comics. Not so much in this toon. Of all the X-Villainesses, she should be number one. Only because Emma Frost hasn't been on screen except for Pryde of the X-Men and Wolverine and the X-Men.

How could you forget the queen/witch/whatever she was from Snow White? Sure, her motivation was vanity, which maybe makes her more shallow than evil when you take it at face value...but she didn't take it at face value. She was so motivated by her hatred of Snow White that she was willing to disguise herself as a decrepit, ugly old lady. Also, she went totally biblical on White's ass by poisoning and apple. She didn't care what deities' ideas she ripped off to get her way, she just went for it.

I never realized that Demona was Councilor Troi before. but after you mentioned that I looked it up and like HALF the cast was on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Call me crazy but I wouldn't have had it any other way. That was my favorite show as a kid (second only to Transformers).

You win purely because you put Carmen Sandiego on the list. Loved her as a kid, both on the animated series and game show. As for the other villainessesseses, they were all pretty darn good too.

I guess I have to know a lot of movies, cause I got half the jokes that you made. Still great top 11.

10) Ahh yessss...who couldn't forget Rita Repulsa? What made her memorable? Was it the dubbed voice of Barbra Goodson that [i]almost[/i] synched with the Japanese hag? Perhaps, but I remember Power Rangers more for two things 1: The theme song and 2: It existance the cause of the cancellation on a much superior hedgehog-driven show on ABC.

8) I actually never watched Carmen Sandiego the cartoon. I watched the game show. With its barbershob quartet theme song...ahhh, such a neat theme. I aced geography thanks to that show.

7) I'm not scared of Cruella Deville the cartoon, because, I am not a toon puppy. Nor do I wish I was a puppy. I dreamed I was a puppy once, and was being chased through a dark forest by...Glenn Close. Now Glenn Close, she's m'fucking [i]scary[/i].

6) No comment on Mystique the cartoon...but you...so so hot cosplaying. You're such a tease, and you know it. That's why you're donning that outfit, showing that not-quite-cleavage.

5) Why do you think Batman: TAS is my favorite cartoon? Screw Batman, the girls helped me hit an early puberty. And yeah, if there is one thing wrong with "Nolanian" Batman, its that there are too many guys and no interesting girls. Rachel Dawes: Both Holmes and Gylennhaal were forgettable.

4) I hate it too. I don't even find Ariel attractive.

3) I loved Gargoyles. Not for the story, or for the fact that Goliath is voiced by the same guy trying to recruit me into the NAVY, but for all the former Trek actors playing against their Trek roles. Marina Sirtis chief amongst them.

2) Not much to say here. That film and its characters speak better when they speak for themselves. I will say though that water is the worst villain-killer ever to be conceived and reused. You hear me, M. Knight? The ending of Signs sucked!

You get an immense number of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. points for mentioning Demona from Gargoyles. She was one of my favorite villians of the show, and that show had [b]ALOT[/b] of villians. A surprisingly deep character with an extreme tear-jerker back story, you could almost sympathesize with her desire to kill all humans........not really.

And I guess we'll be seeing review of "A LITTLE MERMAID" in the future.......I can hear that annoying, calypso singing lobster now.:(

Hehe, not really surprised to see Maleficent where she was at. She has to be the most horrible type of person ever! I think so mostly because of her involvement in the Kingdom Heart series as well. Ah.... Still a hardcore dragon bitch. :P

So much about the Joker in the movie, by the end they know they couldn't use him in the next movie, yet they missed their chance for a Harley Quinn reference.

Y'know, I never would have thought of doing a Top Villainesses list so you already win a slice of win pie and points for originality (seriously, it's always been there in front of us the entire time and when you point them out, you can't help but go "OH YEEAAAH!").

When I saw who #1 was, I actually squee'd and now I wanna give you the entire pie of win. I knew I already loved Maleficent even when I was a little kid ("Sleeping Beauty" is totally my favorite Disney movie) but when I rewatched the movie recently (yeah, I bought the DVD :P), she just seemed even more badass to me (and the three good fairies? Fuck yeah!). Let's not forget the fact that she turns into the most awesome dragon ever (I think I want that dragon tattooed on me someday :D).

So yeah, babbling aside, fabulous list. Please keep on bringing the awesome for us chicks, Lindsay! ;D

Well said! Yes, it IS wrong. And dash it all if you didn't get #1 perfect - 2nd best Disney villain ever, but I still think #1 is Chernabog. That dragon was the crowning moment of evil in the movie, nothing doing.

And the Oz Witch was an interesting case - the books definitely expand on her background, history, and motivation more than the movies ever did. But the real question is this: Where are the REALLY embarrassing costumes?

I admit I was a bit uncertain about this review when I saw the name. I mean why not just put villains and ignore the gender barrier. My thinking went along the lines of; You don't have to do only girl vilians just because you're a girl.

However, the review blow all my uncertainty away. ^_^
This was an excellent list of villains period, male and female considered.

Maleficent is an excellent first choice as well. She has the looks, the attitude, the outfit, the brains, the guts and the power for it.
*And* the most deliciously evil-sounding name too.
