My best friend and I had a love/hate relationship with this movie when we were in high school and discovered it...but after after I bought her the soundtrack as a gag gift and she started playing it constantly the "love" part disappeared for me.

SO glad to see you reviewing this, Lindsay!

You wanna know an 80s alien "comedy" worse than this? Three words: Morons from Space. It is painful, it is Garbage Pail Kids painful.

As bad as this one was, I do like the blonde song. I sometimes mess with my blonde friends online by sending them links to it on YouTube. And it proved that Jeff Goldblum was from another planet.

Wow, Garbage Pail Kids painful? Now you've scared me. What could be as God-awful as that piece of shit? :( :0 No one emoticon can express the kind of pain that movie cost me, even from just the clips played in the review.

  • Sheranda  - I'm a blond.
    avatar

I'm a natural blond, but I don't act like one.

Yeah. Despite my username, I am white. "Sheranda" is the name of a character in a story I'm writing.

Looking at the cast, if this was made around 1995 it would have rivaled "Water World" in budget. I remember renting this multiple times in the mid-nineties when I was about 11 or 12 years old just because Jim Carey was in it and he was fresh off of "Ace Ventura," "The Mask" and "Dumb and Dumber."
The same with Damon Wayons in "Major Payne," and Jeff Goldblum fairly recently coming off of "Jurassic Park" and "Independence Day."
I can thank them for renting "Once Bitten" and "Blankman."
I actually think there was a movie with Carey and Gilbert Godfried where one of them was the devil that I watched a few times.

"Once Bitten" would actually be a good review.
    That's a request.

That was a great review, had flashbacks of The Fly when Jeff Goldblum came out of that alien to human machine.

Yeah really suprised that reference slipped past her. As well as the fact that Geena Davis is also in "The Fly."

I've never seen this one, but what it does remind me of is "Mars Needs Women." It's a bit old for nostalgia, but that's a review I'd like to see some day.

Oi, I remember seeing this movie for the first time. :3

I have to say that I never saw this as a vanity piece, but then again, I never thought there was a reason they had non-sequiter songs; I assumed it was just bad writing. :/

DUDE!!! or should I say...CHICK!!! I expected the NC to do the review of this movie. Yet at the same time I'm supprised that you didn't do tank girl for the review. I must say there was a BLAM (Big Lipped Alagator Moment) With "I'm a blond" song came up. (yes, I saw this movie alot so I think this is a moment where B.L.A.M belongs) but i digress. lol
    take care NChick

I was not interested in this movie at first but now I might watch it. I did love the "Shindler's List" joke and I also found that wierd blonde song kind of funny.

What a bad movie. The intro song should be banned or something, it's horrible. But then so is the movie, it's just so bad on so many levels. It had all these prominent actors too, which reminds me of why I mostly watch B&W flicks. Everyone involved in making this video should be imprisoned for a couple of years and not be allowed to work on anything entertainment related again. I don't care if it's Jim Carey. Not only is the movie degrading to women in a big way, like most movies today, it's also degrading to anyone's intelligence. I am dumber for having seen clips from this movie. I am not grateful for this review by female NC. Some material is too bad to make anything good out of, like Garbage Pail Kids and Howard the Duck.

I mean yeah you guys can make entertaining features, but the material can't be helped. You can't make something good out of it, it's like anti-entertainment. It's made of little black holes that suck entertainment out of their surroundings, and will ultimately lead to a future where tyrants oppress people, cameras are everywhere, and people eat Soylent Green to survive. God damn it.

Man. When you have problems you have problems. If it's not bad lighting, it's sound being picked up that you don't want. Otherwise good vid. Cept for the sounds of traffic.

Curl up and Dye! I think that's the funniest part of the whole movie!

  • Not Shelley Duvall

At first I thought "Teen Witch" had it made with the bizarre non-sequiter musical numbers...but it looks like "Earth Girls Are Easy" might give it a run for its money! :woohoo:

Another welcome return from the Nostalgia Chick! :D

Psst, can someone tell me how Lady Gaga got into this movie?! :P

  • Atma  - Oh god no!

You finally caved in and did it! You went ahead and reviewed one of my favorite crappy movies to watch! Well I just got one question for you missy!

NChick. You are getting stuck with the worst fuggin movies. I know they're supposed to be the girl movies... but seriously, they're the worst fuggin movies ever made. Are they pushing Gigli on you? Eventually, this could qualify for Worker's Comp. Good review, despite the movie.

  • AlucardsQuest
    avatar

There's a line in Back to the Future II that very few people remember or mention, and it's old Marty from the future saying "I'm sorry I missed that whole thing". The line is very confusing on it's own because it doesn't fit with any of the dialog and it's like a continuation of a discussion that was cut from the final film... but that's exactly how I feel after watching this.

Something I notice when watching your videos is that you record voice overs separately from your on camera dialog. The Critic records all his dialog in one session so in contrast when your voice over appears, it seems like it was added in at the last minute. To me that seems like you're making the process more difficult than it needs to be, and it drives the quality down because it's so monotone.
