Also, the original Earthworm Jim did get rereleased in HD on Xbox LIVE Arcade a few years ago, it turned out great. Same great game filling out a widescreen TV and it looked fanastic, it looks very cartoonish which was perfect for it. I'm hoping they rerelease Earthworm Jim 2 in HD.

Years ago the rights to Earthworm Jim were bought and it seemed like a new game was coming out but it never came to fruition. A short $20 game could do decent business on Steam and Xbla.

Can't wait to see more of this..... I remember its been quite awhile since you've done of these, and its really entertaining to hear the stories these characters have. It'd be awesome to see a story on Waluigi, Captain Olimar, or Captain falcon.

I played Earthworm Jim 3D and, oh yeah... that game was terrible. Yeah, it tried to be wacky, but it was absolutely terrible... one of the worst games I've played.

Hello everyone, I'm LevelUpLeo and for the past 3 years I've been doing a podcast called Level Up. And it just so happens my first review of the Podcast was Earthworm Jim, and ever since I've been doing EWJ reviews for my anniversary show. This year marked the last game, and I know the history of EWJ very well. Let me point out a few problems with Doug's video

First off, he says that the show was cancelled AFTER Earthworm Jim 3D. That's not true, the show was cancelled in 1996, while Earthworm Jim 3D only came out in 1999. Though the show was cancelled while Earthworm Jim 3D was being developed, the idea that the show was cancelled BECAUSE of it is simply impossible.

Secondly, Earthworm Jim 3D had no creativity? Bullshit. The plot was that Jim was trapped inside his own mind (very different from what the other games were doing at the time). The levels included a land made entirely of cheese, a barnyard war zone and a undead disco. The characters included MOOsolini (GET IT?), an alien fry cook and Baroness Beaver-for-a-Head. There was no lack of creativity. What made the game suck were the shitty controls!

Third, as someone already pointed out, Earthworm Jim had an HD remake come out a few years ago. Beyond that, he had another game right after the N64 title called Earthworm Jim Menace 2 the Galaxy (THAT is the one that lacked creativity). Yes it came out only a month later, but it deserve a mention. Also, there was a Earthworm Jim 4 in development once on the PSP, but was cancelled, does that not deserve a mention?

He also appeared in two fighting game series (I'm not sure if that was before or after his N64 game though) and his TV show should be coming out on DVD within 3 weeks (sources say November first 2012... seriously!). I'd think he might want to work along with this, as he's probably getting royalty checks from it.

Also, how does EWJ wear just a regular suit? He has no arms! He'd need to be wearing his super suit with a suit on top of it.

Yes, I'm being a Douchy McNickPick, but like I said, EarthWorm Jim means a lot to me. Funny stuff regardless, and I like the "If I can make the world just a bit more surreal" moral.

Actually, go back and rewatch it. He did say that it was a regular suit on top of his super suit.

And you are 100% right on the point about his suit. I had understood that Doug/Dominique said that he wasn't wearing his muscle suit, but was wearing A suit. My mistake.

For the record, EWJ 3-D isn't really one of the worst casualties out of that "format". It's actually an okay game at worst. (Even if it is kind of a clone of Banjo-Kazooie)

if Earthworm Jim 3D destroyed 3D platforming, then Mirror's Edge brought back and saved it. no one is allowed to say that 3D platforming games are bad when Mirror's Edge exists.

I feel its been forever since you did the last Video Game Confession Doug. Great idea for a "return" character I do say. Earthworm Jim was slated to make Earthworm Jim 3, thing is though....I haven't heard about it in like a year, so probably not happening anymore. Makes me sad as a gamer.

Thanks for making a new VGC. I really love them and missed them when you stopped doing them for a while. You should do one for Fruit Ninja!

I felt this one could have been done better, but over all, it is nice to see these vids come back. We may have lost the NC but at least we still have Dominique and Ask That Guy.

Nice episode and I hope you do some more videogame confessions I would love for you to do the demi fiend from shin megami tensei nocturne and reimu from touhou but well goldeneye is not a third person platformer its fps theres not even a jump button how did you make that mistake?

By far the best video game confession so far.
This one actually seems more like an actual homage to the character, rather than making fun of it.
And I miss Jim too... The games as well as the cartoon was equally awesome.

Been a while since I saw another VGC and this one is done well. Some characters I could suggest are Banjo from 'Banjo-Kazooie', Pit from 'Kid Icarus', and Crash from 'Crash Bandicoot.'
