02.28.2010 - 02:41 | sgtjakeNice. Great impression of CPT Janeway, but I still think Mike Nelson did it better. :P I know this is gonna get me flamed, and knowing some of my fellow Trekkies, hunted down and killed, but Voyager was my favorite Trek series. Better than DS9, Original, and yes, Next Generation. And I don't even COUNT Enterprise. The adventures of Captain Dr. Sam Becket didn't interest me at all. But I like how Voyager continued the Trek tradition of hiring damn fine actors(actresses) for the Captains. And it was a little more action oriented. But, while she WAS hot and did have some great episodes, it was painfully obvious the Seven of Nine was eye candy first. All in all, damn good show.

02.28.2010 - 03:38 | tiggerpetenice, I used to watch Voyager all the time, but then I got cable :D seriously, in high school this show would be on after MASH on a local station and I would stay up to watch it (granted there are far better shows out there, but what can I say, sometimes you like something despite the flaws, just like the Star Wars prequels, yeah they aren't perfect, but when you are a real fan you tend to love something warts and all) Voyager tends to take a lot of crap, but it did last 7 seasons, which is more than the average show out there, so it had to be doing something right.

Ah Voyager, the beginning of the end for "Modern Trek" as it was called. Seven years of torture followed up by two more from Enterprise before that show became the only show in history to jump the shark in reverse, must have been the temporal cold war, but even that was enough to save them. It took JJ Abrams and his mighty team of explosions and impactful storytelling to bring Trek back stronger than ever before.

The beginning seasons focused too much on Seska and the Kazon, neither of which I liked. And the final season or two took the uber-intimidating, rarely seen Borg and overused/wussified them until they were shells of their former, "Best of Both Worlds" selves.

09.26.2010 - 11:20 | crazy646LIAR. It was the best Star Trek, with DS9 as a close second.
It was incredible.

02.28.2010 - 08:15 | Bosh DepanzerIf you just accept that Janeway is evil, then the show makes a lot more sense.

Originally they were going to go with a traditional symphonic style opening like TNG through VOY and its floating out there, probably on youtube. I think the pop song works better for the series in comparison. Just fits a bit more, IMO.
Though neither were as good as the Mirror Universe opening. :)
