To me, the episode is basically a reference to cults.

well, we still have to wait for new episodes of Rick & Morty, The Venture Bros., and The Amazing World of Gumball tho
  • SICProwl
    avatar
Well, you could always do what I do when it comes to waiting for Venture Bros. Buy the dvds and watch the episodes with commentaries - the writers are hilarious

I keep having to remind myself that this episode isn't from season 1.

The episode itself was, as you described it, "a fun waste of time". It reminded me a lot of the episode "The Limit" from season 2.
  • dclark
What are you doing regular non-flying squirrel?
  • dclark
I love how the episode doesn't even need to exist, Jake could have just grabbed it.

as far as i know, only the first 3 seasons of adventure time are on DVD and only the first 2 are on netflix, so what are you guys watching the new episodes on? WatchCartoonOnline maybe?

all episodes can be purchased on iTunes
  • ToastyMozart

And Amazon, if you don't like dealing with iTunes' BS.
  • ToastyMozart

They added the second season to Netflix? They sell the entire series on Amazon and iTunes .
  • iamnobody3
yeah but netflix is a streaming service, you just subscribe to netflix and you watch all you want, with amazon and itunes you have to buy them to watch them.
  • ClaudiaFangless
Downvids is a good site for watching episodes, if you can find them there. It aggregates Facebook videos, so no ads and no waiting for the video to load. I've also found some ad-free episodes on DailyMotion.

It really is much better to actually get it legitimately, and keep the series funded.

Support for the creators and legality aside, the video and audio quality of illegitimate versions is usually complete garbage.
  • DontDoThisMan
I wasn't a fan of this episode. I did like the squirrel however, he's probably the only thing that made me laugh in this episode. Otherwise I thought it was rather boring.

Heh. I found that this actually exists:

yeah this episode wasnt that good, bu the next two episodes are, then another bad episode, then nothing but awesome episodes after that!
  • Marko
Yeah the fact that Adventure Time usually only airs one 11 minute per week means that they can essentially stretch a season over twice the amount of time you normally would. Plus there's also usually another month or two break within a season around Christmas time.

Whereas there are some modern animated shows that are full length, like Gravity Falls, and those do end up either having longer breaks between seasons or episodes spaced out over longer periods of time.

They weren't playing frisbee! They were playing catch and throw with a catch and throw disk! :P JK

"A fun waste of time" pretty much sums up my feeling on this episode. It had some funny moments and the not-flying squirrel was a relatively memorable character.

At 1:40, Doug says "just turn to the left and slip out", but HE TURNS TO THE RIGHT!

That's it. I can tolerate a lot, but this vlog is completely unprofessional. I'm angry but mostly sad. I won't destroy my Doug Shrine in a fit of anger, but I am dismantling it. I'm officially quitting the Walker Stalker Association, too.

This had a good run. I guess I'll go see if I'm still legally married and I'll resume my career as a successful surgeon.
My daughter must be four now. I better send her some cash. I hope she's still white.

I have waited almost half a year for the new South Park season... I know they put out the game but... still... Last episode aired December 11, 2013...
  • SICProwl
    avatar
Well, the creators make south park on the spot - they want to be as up to date as possible with popculture and politics and other stupid shit.

They only have a few days to make the episode they want before they air it and I can see how it can be stressful to them so they take long breaks
  • KeroKamina
well. Dewott is a pokemon from gen 5 (black & white) the second stage of evolution for the water starter oshiwatt

I like this episode. It's kinda, I don't know, soothing? Or about as soothing as an AT episode can be. I also quite liked the squirrel. And it was nice seeing pregnant lady.

I really like the episodes coming up.
  • Editor-Bug  - "See? You did help!"
I have a strange connection with this episode. I only enjoy it if I watch it by myself. When I do, I like it a whole lot.

There's just something about Finn's entire journey in this tree being so innocent and cute.

"Don't eat any more magic apples. Silly."
    "Okay, I won't."

    It's pretty adorable.

    "I apologize for staring."
    "Huh?"
"It's just that I've never seen a chipmunk as big as you."
    "*laughs* I'm not a chipmunk. I'm a human boy!"

That, and I like the squirrel. But those other tree creatures were sort of creepy. I also liked how they ended up accidentally helping Finn instead of making him leave.

Another thing I loved is how they were poking fun at cartoons! (the spikes going in Finn's butt springing him up, him slipping through the cage bars)
And it clearly showed that the snail is no longer possessed.
I'm going to assume that Finn returned to normal size after digesting that apple.

The next episode is "All The Little People"! Magic Man strikes yet again!

(PS, the name of Finn's voice actor is Jeremy Shada. He's hot...and he's also 17! He sure does an amazing job as Finn.
Two thumbs-up for the Season 6 premiere!)
  • L2
    *thumbs up back to Jason*
Yay, they are catching up! Hopefully they can watch it on a recorded DVR or something.

Also, next episode is a bit trippy and will make you feel like the SIMs games have a bit more to them than one thinks.

So happy we're at these episodes, it's about where I stopped watching so I can keep watching these episodes as these vlogs come out!

Wait so these 2 actually think the Modern age of Animation is better then the renaissance age huh that's a first normally all people do is bitch and moan that these cartoons are different.
  • Baby Hitler
    avatar
Did anyone else notice that the animal designs in this episode seemed a little "off"? They seemed to belong in some other cartoon.
  • Editor-Bug  - Baby Hitler
That's more of the fun they're poking at other cartoons, along with the spikes supposedly springing Finn in the air and him slipping through the bars.
I think Adventure Time is the only cartoon that has dot eyes for most of the characters.

More stuff like that is in "Shh!".

Speaking as somebody who grew up during the 2000s, I personally think that even though there was some really good stuff the 2000s saw a decline in quality regarding animated shows, however the new tens have so far been completely awesome.
  • ToastyMozart
    avatar
The renaissance had some neat stuff, but a fair bit of what people remember from then is due to having grown up with it rather than it actually being that great. (Going back and watching, say, the Ninja Turtles was pretty underwhelming.)

Then there was most of the 00s, which were something of a dark age (CN Real can go chase a ghost off a tall cliff), but things are actually picking up, there are a lot of shows in the 10s that are really genuinely enjoyable.
  • Egoy
This a fun episode of Finn doing his thing. The lighthearted tone is nice too because it's nice to see Finn be safe happy every so often. It would be pretty depressing to go from major episode to major episode and always see Finn in danger or dealing with heavy emotional things every time we see him.

It REALLY bugged me that the Frisbee wasn't spinning at the end.
  • Editor-Bug  - Baby Hitler
Perfect throw, baby. The disk doesn't spin.
    I know. I've tried.

I'm kinda surprised nobody mentioned the variation in the size of Finn's face in this episode. Also, I wonder if it's intentional.
  • Editor-Bug  - enyv
No, it's just that they draw him differently sometimes.
