02.13.2013 - 20:37 | AutisticwriterI remember seeing this movie. I thought it was pretty ok. Not good but it had its moments. I remember watching the other Wallace and Gromit movies, so i had to check this one out. I couldn't believe Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes were in this movie.
Well folks, next review might be Flushed Away. about 60% guessing but i think it's Flushed Away. I will not saying anything about that until the review comes out. Good luck Doug. you're going to need it.

02.13.2013 - 20:44 | fox_metroThose guys are one of the more... interesting pairs out there. Have to say, I don't think I've seen a duo like them. Sure, there's the dumb main character with the smart sidekick formula that's been done to death, but they might stand out in that their less extreme and you could probably stand them in real life. Unlike Peter and Brian, or Peabody and his boy, who are kind of asses.

To be honest, I actually like the shorts better when I first saw them. When I heard that there was a movie coming out of Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit. I wasn't really interested for the fact that there was going to be a movie of them. I've never seen the movie but I can always give it a shot to see if it's a good movie or a so so movie. You never know if it's a good movie but it might be a good movie compared to the original shorts of Wallace and Gromit.

I never even heard of them before this film.
I remember being reluctant to see it, but I humored my friends and watched it and then became OBSESSED with it. I had the calenders, I got a plush Shaun the sheep (would still get the calenders but the are now not made or purchasable in the US, only in Europe)
its so quotable too. I miss Wallace and Gromit.

Nice review, as always Doug. I remember hearing about this film when it was coming out and to be honest, I wasn't really interested. I didn't really watch the shorts and again, I thought most of what DreamWorks was doing was not intended for people my age. So I never saw this film, but thanks Doug. Perhaps I'll check out the shorts some time and maybe check out this movie afterwards. :)

What happened to Joseph King of Dreams? That was released in 2000 by Dreamworks.
But I do love Wallace and Gromit!

As a freakish British/American hybrid (a monstrosity put forth on this planet to provide nightmares to small children and force the peasantry to rise against a common foe with torches and pitchforks) I grew up on these shorts. It wasn't uncommon to find them any time I went over to England, and as such I have a certain fondness for them. I didn't see this movie until my last plane ride back from the UK, however, but I'm glad I saw it. I agree though, the shorts were definitely better (loved the evil chicken). However, I saw them so long ago it could just be my nostalgia acting up.
Oh, hey! Nostalgia! I'm JUST LIKE YOUUUUUUUUUU......

02.13.2013 - 22:32 | MagifoxI thought this movie was overall very entertaining. Being a person who had vaguely remembered the shorts (mainly "The Wrong Trousers" as that was the one I had seen the most times), this got me going back to watch them over again.
I'm glad that this won an Oscar for Best Animated film that year, because Aardman really deserved all the hard work and effort into making Wallace and Gromit into a full length film.

The TWIST in this movie REALLY surprised me!
I mean, I was told that SOMEONE was the were-rabbit, I just wasn't told who!
--
I CERTAINLY wasn't expecting the twist, so it made the movie alot more epic for me!

I remember watching the shorts when I was a kid. They were kind of creepy, but at the same time entertaining. Though not in the same way a horror movie would be.
Anyways, Wallace and Gromit is an okay series of shorts and movies which, if you have the time, I would recommend. Why? Well, it's a good form to get to know what Claymation is to those who are hardly, if ever, are exposed to it. Second, these two characters and their stories are simply just charming. Sure, they don't wow us with what a movie should be, but we end up liking them anyways.
All in all, give it a try when you have time. I'm sure you won't regret it.
