Wahoo! I was just wondering WHEN we'd get a commentary of this. Because I knew we would. Thanks guyz! 8D I always love them commentaries.
It really works that you have different opinions. It's perfect for this movie and it's perfect for this review's plot. There are so many crossovers already where people ally against a bad movie (not that there's anything wrong with that) and it's just nice to see a little something different.
I kind of wish you'd had a little more seriousness on the defending side, though. I mean it works but it still sounds like it was written by someone who really doesn't understand what other people see in the movie. And I personally don't like it at all but... you know, Brentalfloss could have brought up the two-layered plot thing, for example, with the real plot and the play. (Which I still find stupid but I know people really like that. I've seen Confused Matthew's review and everything he said made sense to me, I just didn't agree.) But you know what I mean?
I mean... well, I don't know how to do it without breaking the silly style of the review but... I'm just a commenter, I don't know nuthin'. I'm just throwing my ideas around because I can. =3= I wanted to say it because it was basically my only complaint about the review and I'm not trying to be a whining bitch or anything, I just want you guys to know what I think so you can maybe make even better videos (unless of course you think my ideas are stupid which I'm leaving for you to decide).
The cameos: you're right they're AWESOOOOME~~~! I LOVE how each one is totally different from the others. And I absolutely love Kyle's. :DDD Damn I love that guy and his acting.
Yeah, I was one of those people who complained about Lindsay's "double-standard". Well, I didn't word it so strongly (I hope) and I didn't mean to bitch but I still stand by my words, I just didn't agree on that. Might be because I know so many people who are almost exactly like that and I know how easily their love turns into hate if they feel betrayed... And also, it's just bad writing all around in the movie. But okay, it was douchy, I get that.
I'm kinda jealous, btw, because I used to do theatre (in an amateur group but still) and of course you can't stop between scenes to laugh. x) You just have to learn to keep your poker face no matter what happens. Damn you film actors, you get away so easily!
Soooo anyway. I loved this review, it was seriously at least in my top 3 NC reviews of all time, and it was an awesome commentary and I loved to listen to you guys talk about the origins of this and everything. So thanks~! And DO MORE MUSICALS. (This time with Kyle too!)

When I was at College in media class, I remember this is one of the movies we watched and analyzed. Our teacher really loved this one, she pointed out the gun flying out the window near the end was signify; 'This is a new world were violence isn't aloud.
I even hadn't heard of this up until then. Also for better or worse I'm not a fan of the romance genre. So this like the one Romance film that I did truly like, so if I have any reason to like movie it's a really simple one.

It's nice to see a review that isn't just "This movie sucks! Don't watch it!" Sure, it's still greatly humorous, but it does sort of convey the message of "Your milage willy vary, but you will be surprised with it." It's not Godfather, but it's hardly Gigi. Moulin Rouge is simply a dumb kind of fun. Like the Bayformers, loud and dumb, but still enjoyable even with the bountiful clusterfuck of flaws.

This was actually the sort of review I love most, where I'm just having so much fun watching it that I'm not thinking about whether I agree or disagree with what's put forth but instead I'm just so wrapped up and giggly that my brain shuts off. The three of you made a great team, this is easily one of my favorite reviews period.

First of all, yes this is the best cameo/musical review of the TGWTG
Second
When I first saw that Doug was gonna review Muolin Rouge. I wasn't angry just curious how Doug would review it. I admit MR are my own guilty pleasure and I loved how you managed to get every cameo in here.
Third
Well the viewers who won't view Doug's reviews because they like the movie Doug is gonna review well to bad for them. For me there have been a lot of films that Doug has been putting in its place that I have actually loved and cherished. The thing is to not take it personal. I don't mind, simply because I find Dougs view points funny and he points sometimes out stuff that I never noticed.
All in all a wonderful review and just as funny commentary. I hope the Ddos attack is over for now.

Best review ever. There is a professor at my college that actually showed this to his class on the how-to's(and how-nots)of critique. He also mentioned that this site seems to be releasing it's own content more and more, and relying on others for is material less and less.
Bravo guys. You're making the world better for the culturally starved and less excusable for the culturally indifferent.

I just loved this whole review of Moulin Rouge. I think I can see it again and again and still like it as much as I did the first time I saw it. Everything was just very well put together. This is easily my favorite review.
This video commentary was just great, and I hope to see more of things like this in the future. Keep up the great job!

12.14.2011 - 20:47 | Captain SiberiaIt still bothers me that Nicole Kidman can sing that well when she's dying of tuberculosis. Did they not know that consumption is tuberculosis? Or do they actually not know what tuberculosis is? Because people with tuberculosis don't sing. They mostly just cough up blood.
And now you must review /Cool Runnings/.

Good commentary, but my stand is still the same I don't like this movie in any form! A stylized movie can still have an interesting and sensible story! The music is the only part of this movie that was even remotely good was the music and that was because it was all old classic songs from the 70s til whenever it came out!
"19:20-Ok, I'm really surprised no one out all these nerds involved (comics, movies, Dr. Who) hasn't made a Clown from Spawn joke as Jon Ligwazomo is the "midget", a Dr. Who joke for the rainbow scarf guy, a Tommy Chong of Cheech and Chong fame for the bearded old man, ect... for the group of side characters at this point!
19:50-This guy's an Orange Lantern isn't he!? Or he'll be one now! My fellow DA members I look forward to seeing your renders by week's end! :D
I know the guy who played the Duke here was the villain in one of the movie adapt of Romeo and Juliet!
24:48-Yeap!
"Oh, my god that hooker I've been dating is cheating on me! Next time on Jerry Springer!"
30:13-It's a good thing late 1800s France didn't have police or any kind of authority figures till the 1960s!
On the subject of the main character's actions near the end that is the closest thing to the way I've actually seen a real life human act if put in a "similar" situation!
My guilty pleasures are still at least movies in a gene or style I use to like this doesn't fit any of the above!
I'd like to see more mixing of the reviewers like this but less musicals! Only musicals I like are animated or very adult like Trey Parker and Matt Stone made ones or Mel Brooks... well the funny ones!"

I don't know if it's my favorite review (I'd have to go back and watch some of my other favorites for a fresher comparison) but it's absolutely in my top 5, no doubt about it! And for the record, I'm a huge fan of Moulin Rouge (guilty pleasure indeed) and I was nervous that I would find the review too insulting, but not at all! It was a perfect blend of pointing out its flaws while still admitting that some people can find it enjoyable, and not without reason.
I always love watching commentaries, especially with multiple people. Awesome job guys!

So, Lindsay, what's wrong with people who realize that the bulk of the comedic content of these videos is in how bad the movie is, and thus realizing that if you are ripping a good movie it's not going to be as good? Or realizing that the majority of musical videos on this site are of substandard quality? It's not like this opinion would even go away until after five minutes in.
And I'm not sure how I feel about the NC begrudgingly liking something that Doug himself still hates. I do know I'm bit disappointed that the Chick is presented as liking all of it but one bit, while Lindsay thinks it sucks--I always thought the Chick was Lindsay. It just seems so odd that Brent is the most honest reviewer.
