Who me? I'm not even really trying at all. Really trying would be to actually e-mail her and try getting to know her beyond what is presented in her videos.
Trying too hard would borderline on to stalking. Not doing that, ever. She's a person with her own life, and I respect that.
I just think she's cool and I have a small crush on her.

I never heard of this movie until now, how could they have wasted such a great opportunity to have all of The Doctors from the past and present together come together and interacting with one another for one crappy enviromental PSA-ish story that goes nowhere?
Such a shame, I really see it could have had potentional if you took out the lame 'air pollution' storyline.

Like JackassMask, I'm not in love with Lupa, but I can see the attraction. She's pretty, she's smart, she's geeky, and she's funny. And she seems a lot more approachable than the other women on the site, but that's just my opinion.
Also, I liked Linkara getting annoyed with Phelous' meta jokes. For the most part, I find them funny, but I agree with Linkara that those gags do get a little old sometimes.

Pretty sure that Phelous noted in the intro that he doesn't like backstories that much. Unless you mean about all the Doctor Who actors, in which case yeah, I agree.
This review was hilarious though, one of the best I think I've ever seen. Phelous' sarcasm and metahumor was outrageous, as were Linkara's reactions.

Hey double posts are totally the new "FIRST".
I think all the hilarious snark in this vid will kill me before the gas can (and can't because it doesn't feel like working half the time?) I guess they seriously thought this movie could run on fanservice alone.
Tell me there's any, ANY other time where two or more Doctors are in the same media outside of Doctor Who...please?
Oh and Gas beats Marganars beats- ah screw it, I'm not doing that this week.

Gotta love crossovers!
Yeah, the Airzone Solution was basically people trying to fill their time in a post-Doctor Who 90's era but didn't succeed in the end.
there were various TV and made for Video films featuring Doctor Who casts doing Doctor Who things in non-Doctor Who environments. It shows how much determined the British are for DW.
And it was a huge mistake to cancel Doctor Who in 1989. I mean, the 90's would be amazing with Doctor Who, especially when you have a Britain filled with bands like Oasis, Radiohead & Blur, along with the rise of DW-inspired Electronic Music by Orbital & Underworld and the return of the Labour Party. A Doctor Who series made during the 90's with a 90's culture would be amazing instead of a cheesy American TV movie. Big mistake there BBC.

OHAI DREAM CROSSOVER YOU LOOK SO SEXY TODAY HUH
Phelous and Linkara, you and your videos never disappoint. This movie is idiotic on so many levels I can't even. Captain Planet would be ashamed to have his name attached to it. This is like the Star Wars Holiday Special of godawful environmentalist propaganda, and I say this as an environmentalist.

Seriously you've got Doctors 3,5,6 and 7 why waste that with some stupid PSA crap.
Great Review

Hey, Nicholas Briggs! He ALSO played the Doctor! He did a series of unlicensed Doctor Who audio stories called "Audio Visuals". Though amateur, they were mostly pretty good. Briggs played a fine Doctor. I recommend checking them out. Also, many of the people involved in the Audio Visuals ended up working for Big Finish, the company that is now making official Doctor Who audio dramas.

For removing my comment. Keepin it classy in here.
Seriously, what was so bad about pointing it out that I find it creepy all the commenters are basically obsessed with any of the contributors that are female?
but I guess it looks like they've also removed the comments I found so creepy. Good to know the chinese goverment runs tgwtg

The TGWTG mods seem to be coming down hard on comments that are even slightly confrontational.
I know they don't want anyone offended, but I've had some very, very mild criticism deleted while I've seen comments left that are much worse.
In one Linkara thread some idiot was calling Iron Liz a man and I called him the idiot he was, my comment was deleted but his was left....it's bizarre.
Is everyone so fragile that any and all negativity is deemed censor-worthy?
-
Do you have a link for that? I'm more than happy to look in to it for you. Usually if we're unpublishing comments like that we'll remove an entire thread (which is how some innocuous comments get removed, if you're responding in a thread that has been unpub'd). It seems out of place that your response ONLY would have been removed.
I (the night mod) rarely unpublish things beyond "FIRST!!!!" posts or things that I've been asked to take down (slamming someone's personal appearance was most recent, before that - a death threat). But we leave plenty of comments containing negativity. See: Comments on Film Brain's episode today or SadPanda's last music video.
We let a lot of stuff slide, but for the record, we'd prefer people follow the same rules in the comments as we have on the forums, and that includes no personal attacks.
Feel free to message Rob or myself if you're having issues.

In the system we use, comments are never deleted. They are simply unpublished. They appear as grayed out comments in the mod's view of the comments page. That way we can keep track of comments that have gone off the list to the public.
So after a simple check for your unpublished comments -- guess what?
You're nowhere.
You have one comment on the subject, and it's up there for all to see. Otherwise -- ZIP.
So no -- nobody touched your comments. And we could care less if you think it's creepy that some fans are obsessed with the female contributors, so we wouldn't remove such comments anyway. That's your opinion and you're welcome to it.
So I suggest you have long chat with yourself before you send letters to the Chinese Government.
Just a thought.

It seemed to have disappeared right around the time there was an angry blog about TGWTG fanboys/fangirls thumbing down comments critical of TGWTG. Frankly, I don't see the problem with it. To me, thumbs down don't really mean anything except that someone didn't like my comment; if their reason was that important, they would reply. Frankly, I liked getting feedback.
So, yeah, I vote to bring back the Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down. Or at the very least, the Thumbs Up; that way, at least good comments get recognized.

06.06.2011 - 21:38 | NotACritic
I'm not much of a fan of thumbs up/down systems because they usually involve some form of censorship of the disliked comment, which I disaprove of. I'm okay with censoring inapropriate comments and flaming, something that is up to the mods, who can be held to a standard. But censoring because it's unpopular just doesn't seem right to me, since unpopularity can come just as much from inapropriateness as from simply being a (within the context) rare yet still perfectly valid opinion. And faceless crowds can't be called out for being unethical.
If no censorship is extant, then I have no problem. But I don't consider it even remotely good for telling whether a comment is actually good or not. In my experience it's usually used to express opinion on the subject, not quality of expression.
The TGWTG system didn't seem so bad, since the comments were still visible, but they were greyed out, which I still consider undue censorship.

05.19.2011 - 01:39 | blackraven87This is so far the only BBV production I've seen. xP Fine review, though I was kinda expecting you to touch on/make joke about Nicholas Briggs since he wrote & appeared in it, and course other Who connections including his voices for the revived DW. It still was fine without it.

Great and hilarious review, you guys. I'm not a big Doctor Who fan, but I can see how disappointing something like this would be to their fans. To waste them on a horrible environmentalist propaganda? WTF?
So, that's Obscuras Lupa, huh? Don't think I've ever watched her stuff before. Maybe I'll check it out sometime.
My favorite parts were Phelous constantly making fun of the review itself and Linkara getting pissed off at him for it. :D

The whole message of "Business can't save us but government mandate can" was, honestly, pretty scary. Maybe it is just me being an American but I have always found the prospect of looking to empower the government in order to "save" us to be an incredibly terrifying and dangerous notion. Sort of like making manacles and handing them to a guy with a gun and offering yourself to slavery. I would think this point would be even more scary for the Brits who can't own personal firearms.

Of course that also means I both have and haven't seen the 3rd anniversary special. And it is, or may be, awesome.
Maybe...Yes...No
Anywho, odd movie. So many Doctors but nary a Tardis between them. Loved the random cameos from everyone, especially The Snob. Brad Jones, you are my Jesus.
By the way, I'm not in love with Lupa, but she is cute. I have a crush on JesuOtaku, but she's apparently Nash's girlfriend.
(Shatner styled shake and build up) Naaaaaaaaaaaaash!
