As for Shrek 2, wasn't expecting that one but still not a bad movie and it was very funny I gotta admit. To bad Shrek the Third wasn't :( I have been planning to review that movie for awhile now :cheer: .

Man, I guess comedies are one of those things that you can never really predict what people will and won't like. Never in a million years would I have thought Rat Race would be on that list.
But I completely agree with Shrek 2. I couldn't stand the first one, but I actually enjoyed the second one.
I always enjoy your movie lists. They're never predictable. :D

Nostalgia Critic does top 11 lists. This is That Guy with the Glasses. He does top 10 and top 20 lists. Glad to clear that up.
That said, just glad to see Blues Brothers on there somewhere.

I really loved your Top 20 Favorite Movies so this was a nice surprise to see.
I was especially happy to see "Rat Race" on your list. I distinctly remember seeing it twice in the theatres and busting a gut with each viewing. What I love most about it is that you can totally tell all the actors are having a blast in the movie. It still makes me laugh to this day.
I haven't seen "Blues Brothers" in years but I'll always remember the church scene. Yay to "Shrek 2" and "Life of Brian" getting shout outs. Now I'm gonna have "The Bright Side of Life" stuck in my head... :P
Can't wait for Part 2!

Funniest part of "Life of Brian" was the Biggus Dickus scene; the guards were told they had to stand still and be completely stone faced. Watching them try so hard not to crack up laughing had me in hysterics. :woohoo:

I was a little suprised to see shrek 2 on there. When I was younger, I watched that movie so many times that I kinda got sick of it lol.
Not entirely familiar with the other 2, but I've been meanin to see life of brian and Blues brothers
lookin forward to next time :D

I had to watch Shrek 2 over 30 times through high school and that isn't an exaggeration, It was the go-to movie for throwaway days and seeing the movie's first hour 4 times in the same day is one of the worst things I can think of, and I think I know that movie better than I do geography.
God, if anyone makes me watch Shrek 2 again, I think I'll puke. Really, the best part of graduation day was knowing I'll never have to watch it again.

I like Hot Shots Part Deux, but I think it's a bit of a shame that it's making your list in lieu of better films such as Blazing Saddles and The Naked Gun. At least you didn't say Spy Hard, though. As for the other two...well, film is a subjective art, right? Shrek 2 certainly is an improvement over the lifeless original.

I must disagree.... Rat Race has one of the funniest endings ever.... when the little fat boy say, "its smashmouth!!!!" I laugh every time....oh boy Smashmouth sucks.

will be fun to see the top 5. maybe some day you could put together a top 10 of other genres. horror, action, musicals, drama, would be quite intriguing
speaking of genres, 10 years from now, should do reviews of the super hero movies of this past decade. bad/mediocre ones particularly.

8.) Usually, I hate misunderstandings, unless they're done a certain way. This way, I think it's funny.
7.) I heard tha tin Japan, the Runaway Five from the SNES game EarthBound were based off the Blues Brothers, even down to wearing similar suits.
6.) I completely agree with you in that Shrek 2 was WAY better than the first Shrek! I loved it! The first Shrek was alright, but THIS one, love it!

Doug, you've got quite interesting comedic tastes and I think that's what keeps That Guy With The Glasses moving. These movies are truly funny (didn't like Rat Race that much though; thought the jokes were a bit forced) but still the rest are great.

Hot shot totally deserved higher than this, like Rat Race's spot. Then again, I can't really argue with NC's picks as he said himself...
I better see Kung Pow in part 2 though, but I'll have to make sure there aren't any sharp objects around before I watch it.

You know every time you listed one of those movies, the first thing that came to mind was the parts I found funniest. That's the great effect I suppose ;)
Hell, I remember sometimes I would put in Rat Race and fast-forward to the parts I busted out laughing when I got bored. With movies like Life of Brian or Shrek 2, I do agree you have to watch the whole thing to really get the full comedic effect.
Good stuff, looking forward to the rest.
