After an entire winter of getting Rick Roll'd on The Dark Knight board on
imdb.com, I found this utterly fantastic.

It's a good premise, but the video is going to get dated veryquickly. Hell, I'd say it's dated already now that the Democratic primaries are
over.

I would've preferred less jabber about politics and Iron Man and more jabber
about the Rick Roll itself. Surely you of all people must have questions about
where this prank came from and why it's so popular.

I was hoping that this could be a satire on the Rick Roll and it disappoints in
this regard.

For what my fun facts are worth, the Rick Roll began just over a year ago
(spring of '07, I believe) when a thread was made on the GameFAQs forum linking
to a supposed leaked trailer of Grand Theft Auto IV. The eager fans just about crapped themselves at this news only to find that
the link was a hoax and instead of a sneak peak at the latest installment of
Rock Star's favorite child, they were treated to the musical styling of one Rick
Astley. Laughs were had, and it soon become a broad internet fad popular on
sites such as 4chan and YouTube, the latter becoming so aware that that their
own April Fool's 2008 prank was that every video featured on the front page
linked to the "Never Gonna Give You Up" video.

You have just been made a little more educated in something completely useless.
Your laurels and undying thanks are not needed, but I humbly accept the
appreciation and praise I so deserve for brightening your dark little world.

Ok I know I am 'dating' myself by saying I STILL have my Rick Astley cassette
from highschool, yes that's right, a cassette! AND I agree Iron Man was cool but
it has a slow start and needed a tad more action. I'm from BC Canada so I
have no opinion on the election LOL

throughout, and as a result, it was pretty funny.

I like this song. Sure it is just bland generic pop but it is the best bland

I sincerely enjoyed this video for a very specific reason. I have a friend that
used to Rickroll me FUCKING CONSTANTLY! Links, spam programs, even my cell
phone. It got so bad, I threatened to drag him to a kareoke bar and make him
sing the whole song, beginning to end, word for word, over and over until they
threw us out! Because my justice is swift and ironic.

But really, the song isn't bad, and this video was an amusing little satire to
this online phenomenot of a prank.

(And no, I didn't spell it wrong, I meant "phenomenot", as in the
opposite of a phenomenon.)

I actually paused it as soon as the song started then started reading the
comments. I didn't realise there was anything other than a Rick Roll, until I
read the comment about the politics, so I figured he was reviewing a Rick Roll,
so I pressed play again. It was quite awkward to watch. In fact I'm typing this
comment while listening to the last bit of it, which is of course at the top of
the screen and unseeable by me who is now at the bottom of the screen. You know,
I never got what was funny about being Rick Rolled. Where did it start, who
started it, why did they start it, why pick this song, why did they think it
would be funny and why did it become to popular?
