Is all you do is bitch and moan and complain? It's all I see in everything you post. WHIIIIIINE! CRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYY! I DON'T LIIIIIIIIIIIIKE THIS! Why don't you do the world a favor and just SHUT UP. Believe me when I say this that nobody, anywhere, gives one flying shit about your opinions and your complaining. If you don't like it, then fuck off to another site or something. Pinterest seems like a good fit for you. If you're this much of a bitch in real life, then I'd imagine you'll be one very, very lonely person. I'd look into getting a ton of cats now and get ahead of the curve.
Doug, do you guys need an admin for the comments section? I'd IMMENSELY enjoy going through the comments and banning people like this permanently.

I'm sorry it bothers you so much that people are expressing their opinions on the 'comments' page.
But don't worry: they're planning to replace the 'comments' feature with a 'blind praise' one, so that only comments such as "Great job!" can get through. Because as we all know, there's nothing worse than constructive criticism.
Oh wait, I just made that up. Instead, maybe you should quit whining and respect other people's rights, or I guarantee you'll find yourself on the other end of the banhammer.

Doug and Rob Walker are a lot better organized than Brad Jones and the people he puts in his sketches (no disrespect to Brad Jones meant, but it looks like he has his cat roaming around the place a lot of the time in videos like the end of the year movie recap, and also it feels like you're just watching them have a conversation rather than an organized sketch.)
James Franco? No way does the Twilight guy look like James Franco. James Franco is actually good looking (and besides that a much better actor).
It's not "Dynasty" where it's all a dream, it's "Dallas".

11.21.2012 - 13:57 | OttomicRob and Doug are an awesome duo. While I think Doug is has a great presence he sometimes gets a bit over the top, or leaves a joke too open. That's where Rob kicks in. He's more serious, more grounded and counterbalances his brother really nicely. It's nice to see Doug still wants to do movie reviews, I still think Demo Reel needs to grow up a bit more.
Looking forward for more!

...............I hope Stephanie Myer gets cancer. and then mauled by a lion. and then burned to death. and then thrown into space.
To call this movie- to call this Franchise- stupid beyond belief is giving it a god damn compliment. I can't even put to wards how ungodly atrocious this fucking wet dream of a "story" is. it rapes the very fabric of nature. it's disgusting. it's an abomination of horny fangirl fantasies. I'd rather be stuck in a room with absolutely nothing to do but watch Garbage Pail kids the Movie than co-exist in the same reality as this fuck-sauce. if I ever meet Stephanie Myer in real life, I would not hesitate to rip the skin of her face, pry her skull apart with my bare hands, tear out her entrails and splatter it all over a sewage dump.
this "story" is bland, it's boring, it's annoying, it's retarded, it's completely undeserving of it's popularity, it's dishonest, it's disappointing, it's violating, it's mind wrenching, it's......it' s.........IT'S OVER!!!! IT'S FINALLY OVER! NO MORE! NO MORE BULLSHIT SEX FANTASIES BEING PASSED OFF AS LITERATURE, NO MORE MOCKING THE VAMPIRE GENRE WITH THIS PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A SOAP OPERA! NO MORE! NO MORE! OH HAPPY DAY! AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!

Honestly, if you wanna rant about something in the future, plese consider only the last paragraph of that comment.

You could also just ignore Twilight, like I do.
All you're doing by hating it is giving it more attention and publicity.
I don't think about Twilight at all, and it does not effect my life in the least.
The hate the Internet gives to so many things is just something I will never understand. Why would you constantly be thinking and talking about something you hate? That makes no sense to me.
Don't like Justin Bieber or Nickelback? Just ignore them, it's not hard at all, and they will never come up in your life at all.
Wishing for the death of a women who does not effect your life in the least? Anywhere other then the Internet, that would be seen as insane.
-
11.22.2012 - 20:27 | Fangheart
look, I didn't mean it quite THAT seriously, I was just goofing off, cause that's what people do on the internet. of course I don't seriously mean all this crap, I'd be a psychopath if I did. if I really did meet Stephanie Myer in real life, I'd just try and leave the area as soon as I could and not go back until I was sure she was gone. I mean, I think she has kids and a husband and stuff. how sick and demented do you honestly think I am?
and I actually agree with that, I really wish people would just ignore it too. that's why I hate it when people even make parodies and spoofs of twilight, because they're still giving it attention.
this is probably the last we're ever going to see of twilight stuff on this site (or at least I hope to god it is) and so I decided to just go extreme and have this insane, colorful rant for no reason other than I was bored. I exaggerated my opinion for my own amusement, this isn't legitimately serious. so calm down, I was just spewing out bullshit nonsense. what, you've never seen that on the internet before?
in real life, I'm actually pretty quiet and reserved, and much kinder and more polite than I am on this website. the internet is where I vomit out the more nasty, negative thoughts I get in my head. but I don't really mean them, it's just an outlet.
-
12.01.2012 - 10:30 | snoofulus"that's why I hate it when people even make parodies and spoofs of twilight, because they're still giving it attention."
Lol you've still got issues.
Although it technically doesn't matter... you do realize that the primary attention it gets is from its target audience that actually likes it, and has learned about it from the original marketing or word to mouth?
And that even if all the ironic nerds in the world suddenly forgot about it ever existing, due to no one on the internet bashing or spoofing it (and possibly I would hardly know anything about it, either, if that were the case), that would only mean that its flood of fandom would stay unchallenged?
Or do you seriously think the majority of girls into Twilight come by it because they watch TGWTG.

Like I told a friend on FB, I don't hate the actors playing Twilight just the characters they play.
Now onto this video, I like this video, whereas we are just so used to Doug's opinions on a movie, it was nice to see a different opinion voicing thier perspective on it. And not just as characters but as honest guys sharing thier experiences watching a movie. If this is one of Doug's other projects I would like to see more of this in the new future, because I enjoyed watching this immenscely.
Cheers, and happy belated Thanksgiving :)

11.21.2012 - 17:10 | BeausterYES! I always wanted to see a Siskel/Ebert type of series like this. This series is going to be enjoyable on some of the future arguments they might have on films to come or nostalgic films (maybe). :D

There's this chemistry that you and your brother have, Doug. It just makes the video 10x more entertaining to watch. And it'll only get more exciting, I'm predicting, when you two actually watch a movie together and have differing opinions.
The only criticism I would give is that you two sometimes talk over the other person, so the audience is kind of unsure who to listen to and end up inevitably missing something. Then there's the fact that when one brother talks for a while the other is just visibly feeling a bit awkward.
Overall, I can't wait for the next installment of Sibling Rivalry! Keep it up, guys! :)
-
I agree, its really the chemistry and enjoyment you feel between them whether they're brothers or not is what makes this video work.
And you do have a good point about the overtalking, maybe I've just didn't notice it before seeing how I returned recently from a huge thanksgiving dinner at relatives, where you're become adjusted to alot of overtalking and there are about three conversations going on at once, but now that I have come back to the quiet solitude of my apartment. I get what people on here mean about the overtalking being the one downside.
But I have no worries because those mistakes are common and easily fixed.

11.21.2012 - 17:43 | VitasphereSimple Vlog, but with so much heart and real passion, that it is so enjoyable, just awesome to look at. Not to take anything from your efforts to make Demo Reel successful, but the simplicity of this and the passion behind it which shined through makes this a much better prospect for future flagman of the site. Basically it is NC about new film without scenes from the movie. With your brother. And it was great. Btw I am the one of those who agreed with cancelling NC because it was becoming boring. This was better than many of latter NC episodes. And definitely better than DR ep1 which was horrible. Although the thanksgiving episode was a huge improvement, still DR needs hell of work to make me enjoy it at least half as much as this great stuff. Wish you well, guys.

This was the greatest video of a "Siskel & Ebert" angle of a series I ever watched and you two had me laugh and laugh through it! I love it! This is the one I think I'll be waiting to see more movie reviews between the two of you at it.
Thank you Doug and Rob. Thank you so much. While you two try to get Demo Reel a lot better, I'll be relaxing and enjoying Sibling Rivalry starting Walker & Walker....
Or Rob & Doug or Doug & Rob?
Oh well, THANKS!! :)

Okay, there was a HUGE difference between what Hermione in Harry Potter did and what they were doing in Twilight.
Hermione's parents would have been tortured and murdered by the Death Eaters because they were related to her. She was protecting them and had a HUGE struggle with it.
In Twilight, it wasn't anything like that.
-
11.21.2012 - 22:38 | FloweramonPlus, there was a huge chance that Hermoine would die on the quest (in the sense that it was a dangerous thing outside the school, not in the meta sense of JK every actually killing off one of the Golden Trio). She erased their memories so that, if she died, they wouldn't mourn her death.
-
11.23.2012 - 22:44 | Semudara
That's still just plain wrong. She's the most important thing in the world to them; they would rather know what happened to her, and pay the price themselves, than lose her very existence.
She made a call, and it wasn't her call to make. There is nothing more horrible she could have done to any pair of loving parents. And of course, she never does that in the books.

But as bad as this movie is, you have to admit THEIR Avatar who can control all the elements is a bit more convincing than M. Night Shyamalan's Avatar Jesus who resembled Aang about as much as the Twilight sparkler Jasper resembled Sokka. No joke on that last bit; the guy who plays the red-haired sparkler that dates the psychic also played Sokka in the movie.
-
You're attempt to stay focused really confuses me. Every time you start on what is apparently a tangent I start to follow you reasoning. Then suddenly Doug brakes the train of thoughts to maintain focus and goes back to some point or starts a new one but I'm still thinking about the tangent and since you haven't really brought it back to the point, it just jumps back to some place Doug feels the relevant discourse lies.

Spoony talking with Brad and a female friend of his for about two hours, and it was quite entertaining! Spoony and pals pretty much agreed BD Pt2 was worth seeing because it's so bad it's good, and as a matter of fact, I'll think this will be the first Twilight flick I myself will see in a theater.
Spoony was very critical of how the movie looked, though. He spotted out backgrounds that were matte paintings, and he claimed that a car scene was done so poorly it broke his moment of suspense. THe car wasn't even moving; what the hell?

Im still being kinda hopeful that demo reel can improve, but if it doesnt and fails, I can see this being a more proper replacement for NC.
If anything, if ya wanna make this a more proper "show," I would put a bit more of a budget on this. Not like an entire scripted out review or anything, just a lil more like half in the bag. Like having a set and not just a couple guys on the bed. Otherwise its just a glorified Vlog. Which I dont mind personally. But if its gonna be a regular show, it should have more a structure or at the very least a distinct set.
Lookin forward to more, ya two are very naturally funny, especially together
-
11.21.2012 - 19:41 | thedarklordkeishaYou know what the funniest part about the cop-out ending is? That's actually the only thing about this story that we CAN'T blame Stephanie Meyer for. The fight sequence isn't in the book, Edward just describes the vision. Which makes it actually more insulting, because that implies it was added to try and include an action sequence to appease people who hate the films but got dragged there by their friends or significant other. But since they couldn't POSSIBLY kill off some characters and actually have people suffer fucking consequences because I imagine the fanbase's brains would explode, they just pulled the "all a dream" shit. When the worst aspect of a Twilight film is something actually NOT invented by Stephanie Meyer, you cannot possibly fail any harder.

I really enjoyed this. It was cool to hear the movie described by someone who has never seen the other movies XD
I saw the movie and I have to agree with most points. It is a ridiculously, yet wonderfully bad movie. XXD
There is one thing that should be mentioned, though. The ending of the movie is different from the book. So...THAT (you'll know what I mean if you've seen it/had it spoiled for you) isn't entirely her fault. She probably had input on it, though.
Thing is, the ending in the book is so fucking anti-climatic. So they had to change it...but...not change it XP
-
11.21.2012 - 20:04 | Tom Smith
The sad thing is that in the book there is no fake out ending.
The good vampires build this big army, bad vampires show up, they talk a bit and then they leave.
DEAD SERIOUS.
NO JOKE.
In the book there is no climax at all.
Somebody had the bright idea that having a fight scene, even if it was bogus, might liven things up. I can't tell if people are grateful or resentful of that though.
-
11.21.2012 - 20:33 | akarlpanaI laugh, like always and I love Rob, too ... but I have to admit I miss Doug alone, he is the reason why I look this and having him with company almost everywhere make me sad :( I mean no more Nostalgic Critic and now is not only Doug's opinion.
-
11.21.2012 - 20:35 | Lemuel31I really liked this. I think you should do more opinionated reviews like this (for recent movies) with your brother, and drop Demo Reel. Don't use a bed though, maybe a two person desk.
-
11.21.2012 - 20:40 | LarieOh Rob, where have you been all my life?!
You guys are absolutely hilarious as a team! And not only that, the review is easy to follow and pretty linear, which is great, because sometimes reviewers tend to go really off track. And the stories about what happened at the theatre are also really funny. I loved it!
