Whait, was that the Nostalgia Critic or Chester A. Bum in better duds?
Edit: ok, nice ending.
Edit 2: Mike, thank you.
Edit 3: Damn, I got totally legit second comment and now I've been booted halfway down the page. Curse you angry movie dork, and may your seed be annihilated from the Earth.
Edit Final: Thanks Mike, for restoring me to second spot.

Yeah, that's all I'm trying to say. If you can get yourself into that mindset where you're just going in to see some robots fighting each other and some explosions, then you're all set. It doesn't take much effort on the part of the viewer for something like that.
But, for 2 and a half hours? Then, I think you need a well-told story. I actually liked the first movie partly because it told its story well enough, and I thought it was fun despite its flaws. Transformers 2 seems to go on forever, though, and its story is all over the place.
The mentality that they had while making this one seemed to be "if it worked a few times in the first movie, it will work even better 30 times here." In the first film we had maybe 5 or 6 "comedy relief" characters. This film has easily twice that amount, and they're not funny, at least not to me. The offensive Twins in particular seem to be characters aimed at the kids, so one can explain away their goofiness in that fashion. However, if this movie is for kids, then why do we get scenes like John Turturro's junk in our face or Devastator's nutsack, along with Wheelie humping Mikaela's leg and Sam about to get busy in bed with Alice? Speaking of Alice, if Decepticons can disguise themselves as humans, why not just take over the human race via mass infiltration with Alice-type bots? This is just one of the film's several plotholes that never gets explained.
Don't get me wrong, there are some decent parts. I liked very much how Megatron and Starscream's relationship is more defined in this one. Their scenes together are actually pretty good, and we needed more stuff like that. The battle scene in the forest? Just awesome. Shame that it ends so quickly. The effects, needless to say, are still a wonder to behold, as well.
To end, if people like it, fine. If Doug liked it despite its flaws, great. I just couldn't invest myself in it. I'm happy for people who could, though.

Judging by Spoony's review and the fact that Roger Ebert's review was his most scathing since "North", I'm willing to bet N.C. didn't actually like Transformers 2, and was just paying homage to his first review by going all Bum over it.
But who am I to presume what the Nostalgia Critic's opinions are? Maybe he liked it, maybe he didn't. In either case, the review was a funny one, as usual, N.C.

If you overanalize everything about the movie (sorry spoony I like ya but I gotta disagree and I have always hated Ebert) then of course you will dislike it but if you just go along with the movie then you will be rewarded with a lot of laughsm some solid action sceanes and some awesome robot scenes. But if you think too much about the plot you will probibly hate this movie but I mean hey its giant robots fighting so what more could you want? The movie is unfortunantally way way too long though. So its your call but you really should go see it before you decide.
and I cannot speak for Doug but I assume he has mixed fealings about it like myself because there is only so many plot holes you can just ignore.

When I watch movies,I just kick back, relaxe and enjoy the action, not thinking up things like plot holes or some other things going wrong. Then again, what did you guys expect from a Michael Bay flick? His movies have always been all about mindless action and poor plots, and isn't that what Transformers is about? A lot of robot VS robot action?
But that does not mean I can take anything. If the movie is pure stupid, I'll hate it too.
I can't really say anything about the movie yet, because I haven't seen it.
Ok, that's enough.

Exactly. Too many people act as if the original show was pure literary genius, descended down from the heavens in a golden chariot.
