I can finally see it clearly and without problems! Sorry I about all the server problems you guys had. It was still fun donation drive.

02.12.2009 - 15:48 | Stuash - Yay!
Yay! We finally got to see it. And my question has finally been answered... This is what a review would have looked like back in the days of silent films. Yay!

02.12.2009 - 15:56 | chaosbringer - the cards thing worked realy well
it was real good review even without voice;D
-
02.12.2009 - 16:01 | David2314 - Damn
That would have been the best review ever with voice.
But still another great one.
I knew that kid was pure evil

02.12.2009 - 16:04 | mmntw26 - I watched this during the drive...
Amazing review once again, Doug! I'm glad I got a chance to talk with you guys and give you guys a donation for making me laugh for the past few years! I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
-
02.12.2009 - 16:06 | Pie3492 - It works.
I loved it.
The cards and captions were great.
'Don't F*** with me.'
That was odd.
-
02.12.2009 - 16:08 | Chosen Zelos - Bravo.
Been waiting for this for a while, cuss I REALLY wanted to know what you thought of it after I saw it and reviewed it not too long ago ... GOD, what a piece of shit movie. Loved the twist in this review with it being nearly silent ... kidna eerie though. O_o It definitely pointed out some things I never thought of when I reviewed it. Like the lil sister falling through the ice and the two grown men being able to walk on it smoothly. Oh, and your reaction to when Culkin said "fuck" ... priceless. ^_^

Great review. Elijah Wood is surprisingly good in this movie unlike Macaulay Culkin. Maybe it's more symbolism.

02.12.2009 - 16:38 | Kavonde
Okay, that was an AWESOME review. While I wouldn't want to see the cue cards regularly replace your voice, I think they added a HUGE amount of funny and novelty to this. Good stuff.
Also, I actually find the idea of the Home Alone kid saying "don't fuck with me" kind of awesome.
-
02.12.2009 - 16:38 | CrimsonDusk - God what a crappy movie
I remember this movie and the controversy behind it that Culkin's father was so desperate to milk his son for money that he would make him do any role, even an evil bastard version of Damien without the devil powers. Oh the fathers of celebrities they'll ruin their children lives to make theirs better.
-
02.12.2009 - 16:47 | FoxtrotTango - Awfully dark for Culkin, wasn't it?
I had no idea before this review came out that the Home Alone kid could be so goddamn creepy. And the horrid part is that he looked so...natural playing a scheming, serial-killing kid. *Shudders*

Interesting episode. I laughed just as much as if you were talking or not. I just imagined what you would sound like while reading it.
-
02.12.2009 - 17:21 | Valhalas
Well that's not like Culkin haven't played in any other creepy stuff before. Overall not a bad movie, actually, for the least something original. Nice review though.

02.12.2009 - 17:32 | orwellianson - A letter of appreciation for you Doug :)
Doug I would love to see your fantastic writing and comedic talents to the written page as well as your satirical spoken exploits shared with a larger audience. I truly love your site and love just about every member here and I truly believe you are the latest Lewis Black and Roger Ebert of our times. You are funny, sharp witted and ever so observant! I truly believe you are making a positive difference in people's lives and I wish you well doing what you do best; being an entertainer and educator on all things suited as nostalgic and cinematic art.

Did Mcaulay Culkin's character inspire Chuck Palahniuk to create Tyler Durden? He acts like a mini anarchist!
-
02.12.2009 - 17:38 | lightningbarer
It's an explanation of Sociopothy in children, it's creepy but there are kids like Culkin in the world.
-
02.12.2009 - 17:43 | Autobot420 - meh
eh this was good but I would rather it have been like a normal review.
-
02.12.2009 - 17:56 | tri-sapphire - ...****.
I'm glad I never had to suffer through that sorry excuse for a movie before. And a very heartfelt thank you to the Nostalgia Critic for introducing the piece of crap with comedy better than the movie itself.
Seriously though, what the hell was with that story? I'd put it a few notches above the novel It in terms of creepiness. ****ing IT! CrimsonDusk described it perfectly, it's like Damien, the anti-christ himself, only without any powers.
And yes, my childhood was also killed after watching a mere review of this movie. But thanks for softening the blow Doug!
