If you don't like commentaries, I can't see why you can't just refrain from watching it. It's not like its existence is taking anything away from you. Some people enjoy the behind-the-scenes stuff and it would be kinda stupid to omit the commentary just because another group of people don't like them. Nothing is forcing you to press play.

Woohoo, another DVD exclusive! :D
Thanks for posting these, Doug. It's a nice treat for those of us who don't have the DVDs, and honestly, these DVD exclusive videos have made me want to buy the DVDs even more than I already wanted to. It's too bad I haven't got any funds, though... sometimes it sucks being a penniless college student. :(

10.16.2012 - 20:50 | BloodrealmProbably not crossovers, but I think there could be a lot of jokes you could make with cameos. I mean, really, if YOU were one with the universe, literally, wouldn't YOU screw with reality, just a little bit?

Awesome review. I'm upset that NC is over but really excited for new shows. I'm in nostalgia critic rehab.
-
@MichaelM: Actually the Nostalgia Critic can still do crossovers, or even appear in more episodes. Doug even said that the character is still going to be seen from time to time, he's just retiring the weekly series.
Hell, he DID appear in Nostalgia Chick's Review of Cutthroat Island, which was released after To Boldly Flee, so yes, he can do crossovers still.
@TheSparkyChick: Doug did say that he was only retiring the Nostalgia Critic. He will most likely still continue Bum Reviews/Ask ThatGuy/Video Game Confessions/Theme Lyrics/etc. in addition to doing Demo Reels (and possibly other shows?).

I'm not sure if making Turkish knockoffs of American films was big at the time, or if it had something to do with the director, because the same director did the Turkish Star Wars movie, according to Wikipedia. I'm not familiar with the cinema of Turkey.
You said Ed Glaser now has the copyright. Is that for the whole film or just the English dub, and was he involved with said dub? I doubt it though, because I think it probably would have been done better.
Also, it's my birthday today and there's two new things from Doug...even if it's mostly commentaries. I still consider it a birthday present. :)

Ed produced and organized the English dub himself. If you listen closely, you'll recognize the voices of Peter "Count Vile" Davis and Andy "The Shopkeeper" Dallas.
The Turkish Rambo DVD is for sale on Ed's site, and it's worth getting. The whole movie is very enjoyable, and Ed and Jake Kauffman do a fun audio commentary.

I watch some commentaries and they're usually entertaining, no harm in putting it up. But it makes me think, a commentary on a review is like talking about talking about a piece of work lol. How far can we go with this, can I review a commentary then make a commentary on my review of a commentary.... well I'm high.

10.16.2012 - 21:02 | RostafaWasn't the biggest Digimon fan, was more into Pokemon and early Yugioh. I did see the Digimon movie, and honestly it's not that memorable. Plus I didn't even think too highly of it anyway. But Doug's rant/commentary was fun on this one......kinda lol

I haven't yet seen the Rambo films from start to finish yet, but they ARE in my bucket list.
I don't know what a color director is, but I know what color correction is.
This film has as much driving scenes as Manos.
I love how pissed off you got with Captai FourthWallBreaker.
It's a same that this Turkish film doesn't have that certain popular moment from "Karate Girl.
7:14- I think that blam should be reserved for the color director.
8:27- I love this part. If that had made a sequel to the Super Mario Bros. movie, he would have been Wart.
10:27- Well, THERE'S something you would see in an acid dream.
11:57- ...Um, ...MUSIC, PLEASE!!!
I also love the death screams in this movie. Ed Glasser did a nice job with this films dubbing and sound effects.
What an enjoyable mess of a film. =D

10.16.2012 - 23:49 | BudSpencerAndTerenceHillWhy does American dubbing for foreign films always suck so hard?
Maybe Hollywood wans to get rid of compitition?
okay this Movie may not be a good example.......

I liked this review, but I always wanted to comment on it... and now I can.
First of all whom are they blaming for the film not being restored and the bad dubbing? Ed Glasier?
The father looks young sure... but the daughter doesn't even look 25.
I've seen worse transitions (like breaking his chains over the fire) in bigger Hollywood movies, so for an amateur filmmaker with no budget to try something that has a grounding in how editing is done it's not half bad.
