I am with Rob on the whole "All it was all kept secret" blah blah blah blah. I mean, that is the most stupiest cop-out in the movie ever!
Considering the fact that it would have been hard to keep it a secret when days after the sinking there was a HUGE investigation aftewards. Could anyone of you imagine what the investigation and trial would be like in this movie with talking dolphins, octopuses, and whale hunters conspiring with sharks?
That would be pretty messed up.

Let's see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ Octopus#Etymology_and_plu ralization
Etymology and pluralization
The term "octopus" is from Greek oktapous, ("eight-footed"), with traditional plural forms "octopuses" from English grammar and "octopodes" from the Greek. Currently, "octopuses" is the most common form in both the US and the UK. The term "octopod" (plural: "octopods" or "octopodes") is taken from the taxonomic order Octopoda but has no classical equivalent. The collective plural "octopus" is usually reserved for animals consumed for food.
As it arose from the incorrect assumption that "octopus" is a Latin form, octopi is an often objectionable hypercorrection. (Peters, Pam (2004). The Cambridge Guide to English Usage.) Nonetheless, the supposed Latinate plural remains more common than the original Greek one: The British National Corpus has 29 instances of "octopuses", 11 of "octopi", and 4 of "octopodes".
The Oxford English Dictionary (2008 Draft Revision) lists "octopuses", "octopi", and "octopodes" (in that order), labelling "octopodes" 'rare' and noting that "octopi" derives from the apprehension that octopus is a second declension Latin noun, though it is not. The book further maintains that if the word were native to Latin, it would be third declension octopus (plural: octopedes) after the pattern of pus ("foot", plural pedes). The actual Latin word for octopus and other similar species is polypus, from Greek polypous ("many-footed"); again, usually the inappropriate plural polypi is used instead of polypodes.
Fowler's Modern English Usage states that 'the only acceptable plural in English is "octopuses"', that "octopi" is 'misconceived', and "octopodes" 'pedantic'. Chambers 21st Century Dictionary and the Compact Oxford Dictionary list only "octopuses", although the latter notes that "octopodes" is 'still occasionally used'. The descriptivist Merriam-Webster 11th Collegiate Dictionary lists "octopuses" and "octopi" in that order; likewise, Webster's New World College Dictionary lists in order "octopuses", "octopi", and "octopodes"."
(P.S. I've taken out the footnotes and those font characters, i.e. Greek letters and accents, that this site does not properly display.)

I know the Garbage Pail Kids commentary was public, because that is the only way I could even get through it.
I'd love to see a "top 11 worst so far" list; I know there are probably about half a dozen movies you've reviewed that are just so utterly unpleasant that I haven't been able to finish even the reviews. (Drop Dead Fred, Little Monsters, Milk Money)

Great commentary but bloody hell there's so much wrong with this film. Glove sniffing, killing of the mouse after lighting up his nose.
Still waiting on the Baby Geniuses commentary which is still one of the best videos of this year.
And even though they may not read this and I might have missed this news long before but I might as well say Congratulations to Rob and the New Mrs Walker.

WHAT, no review of the sequel. And the reason is because Critic is scared?
As Spoony would say "don't be a pussy. Tear it a new one Buhajaulta". Be strong and overcome your fears.
Or better yet have Rob Walker review it, it would be a good change of pace and would be a good show by Rob. Hey Rob can even tie it into a meta story with Emperor Rob and the critic.

I still think the one with the rapping dog was worse. It's animation was irredeemably cheap & kinda creepy, to the point where I couldn't even pay attention to the story or the characters. With this one you can just turn your brain off & stare at the art.
This one is still bad though. It reminds me of Detroit Mechwork's reviews of the CGI Barbie movies his daughter makes him watch. & damned if the heroine doesn't look like a Barbie doll.
Also, some of the character designs are blatant imitations of the mice from An American Tail.
As for the hero...He has the same clothing style & hair shape as Dr. Blackjack. & Blackjack's rival Kiriko has grey hair & an eyepatch.
& that octopus looks like Casper.
Well, if I ever find a stoner who reviews movies while high, this would make a good recommendation.

Oh, and a Note to Rob and his new wife: Congratulations for becoming Mr. and Mrs. Walker.

I remember that funny sketch from SNL too! I was thinking the exact same thing when I first heard about these movies. There's simply too much in this movie to make fun of this. Do you notice how these characters never show emotion? While the animaton isn't that bad, the way they lack emotions really kills it. That octopus' head is ridicuously big.

FYI, this movie was animated by a studio called SEK in North Korea.
