I bought the DVD set of this the day it came out, because I just knew 20 years
later I would love it.

TRIED watching it but i couldn't stand it. I got really pissed at dick
entertainment because not only did they ruin one of the best nintendo characters
they had to ruin Zelda as well

Wow, just wow. I remember this show. It got me wanting to eat Italian food

Friday growing up was definitely Zelda cartoon day. Amazing how much we were
able to put up with back then just to see our favorite video game heroes on tv.

Oh, and uh, I like Ganon's teleport.

LOL I enjoyed this review. Not only did you rip apart Mario but blindsided us
with Zelda. I applaude your wit NC. I never realized how lame the Zelda
cartoon was cause I remember in 3rd garde, this was the reason why you came home
early on a friday afternoon. Man, what an atrocious piece of shit this was.
Anyway, is there a possiblity youll be doing a review of the other Mario
cartoons? Mario 3, Mario World? How about other DiC related video game shows
like Captain N or even the 3 Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons? Id have to say this
review was probably better than the proposed Good Son review.

Is it me, or does Ganon in the cartoon look like Snaggletooth off of Motorhead's
album covers? If so, METAL!!!

If you had the ability to teleport AT WILL you'd do it constantly and for no
good reason everywhere you went too.

At least I would, so I don't see blaming Ganon for that.

Otherwise, yep, pretty crappy set of shows.

I look forward to the review of the impossibly creepy, yet funny Good Son.
This show was only popular because it made the obsessed-about Mario/Zelda games
that much more real. WHen we got our NES' back then, it was like a whole new
world(to my 5-year-old mind) and no one I knew could get enough of it.
The characters represented so much fun, that even a shite show like that could
be fun, too.

Not these days, though!

I wonder if Bum and That Guy will also show up with beards... nah. That would be
too much of a coincidence.

mario brothers super show caroon.

Man I used to have such fond memories of this show. I used to love it so much
when I was a kid but now I see that it was complete garbage, thanks a lot
nostalgia critic you've ruined one of my key childhood memories, now I'll never

LOVED THIS REVIEW. This is my favorite Nostalgia Critic video of all time
(probably because I bought Super Mario Brothers: Mario's Movie Moments on DVD

That's what Bowser is called in Japan. I guess the writers of the cartoon liked
that better.

Although I experienced no change in facial expression, My insides were exploding
from the humor of the ending.

I remember this being the high light of my Friday's when I was a kid just
because it was about Zelda and as a kid you really just accept anything you see
on TV. But for as crappy as the show was I have to admit that I prefer this
Zelda over the games Zelda just because she is actually a part of the show
instead of being a boring character that appears for a few scenes if not just at
the end. Also, this is proof of why link should never talk but for as lame as
this Link is at least he has a personality.

Reviewing the Zelda cartoon in addition to the Mario cartoon was the best
surprise I've ever had from this site. I think this video is one of the best
Doug has made!

The best part to me of this video is that before it was mentioned, I was
thinking that he should review the Zelda cartoon. God I was laughing hard when
it showed up. "Well excuse me Princess!" is the line that even made that
cartoon memorable. I'll bet some people forgot all about it either by force or
just grew up on better shows. I hope for more really awesome reviews in the near
future.

The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 was a much better show than this. I'm a
bit annoyed that it only got like 1/5 of the episodes the Super Mario Brothers
Super Show got.

Though I should respond to something you said at the start of the video, when
you mentioned how they couldn't use the Super Mario Brothers premise (which was
"two guys save a princess from a turtle" to make an entire cartoon.
Well, I should point out that the same company who made this series actually
managed to do so with Sonic the Hedgehog (I refer to the SatAM one, not the
sillier "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog", though the same company
made both). SatAM actually made a fairly complex and interesting series out of
such a simple gaming plot. A comic series based on it is STILL GOING ON after
all these years and is almost at issue #200.

Okay, it was funny, it was a great throwback to something all video game fans
revile, yadda yadda...

Two things though: As BallsMonkey has already pointed out, King Koopa is what
Bowser was originally called, and still is in Japan.

The other thing is that in the original The Legend of Zelda game, there WERE
only the two Triforces. Wisdom and Power, like in the cartoon. Courage didn't
show up until Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and even then only in the story
found in the manual; you never see it or find it in the game (Link is said to
already possess it).

So yeah. I had to correct a fan on a similar topic on AVGN's site just
yesterday.

Speaking of, does anyone else find it cool that the recent computer problems
caused the Critic to release his SMBSS/Zelda review a week after AVGN concluded
his CD-i review, which ALSO contained horrible, horrible blights against the
names of Mario and Zelda? I mean, the problems were unfortunate and obviously
the passing of McCulkin's sister is nothing "cool," but still, it's a
neat coincidence in the end, no?

...I actually enjoyed the show when I was a kid

I'd rather watch the mario bros show than the fucking stupid movie because the
show was done right unlike the movie
