When I was walking through a video store with my older sister I came across the VHS cover of Leprechaun and thought...."Oh my gosh that is sooo scary!" And now looking back watching this review I can't believe how creeped out I was over this leprechaun as a kid.
And Cinema Snob as a deep sexy voice! :D

This was an excellent review. I really enjoyed it! You two really play well off each other, too. :)
This film looked utterly wretched, though. I mean, evil leprechaun chasing you on a tricycle? Knocking a fully loaded truck over with a go-kart unfit for worms? What is this garbage? How it did it even get a green light?
For that matter, how did it get sequels?! DX WHY did it get sequels?!
...Are we sure this isn't some weapon of mass destruction against people's minds? You might want to be careful...Its horrible, infectous, cancerous self may already be plaguing your minds. It'll only be a manner of months before you all start mumbling incoherently about rainbows and hell leprechauns!
At least it partially redeemed itself with that cosmic line near the end. :3
But one cosmic line does not make up for a film of suckitude.

BouncyTEM, you have to remember the golden rule for almost all horror movies made:
If a movie is even mildly successful, make at least 2 sequels to it. It doesn't matter how silly it gets, just keep making them.
Anyway, I definitely wasn't expecting the Cinema Snob to show up for one of your reviews Doug, but I'm glad he did. This review was a great one and, like I've said before when you two do things together, you guys play off each other very well. I especially liked when the Snob first came in and when you guys did the epic line thing together. Very nicely done.

10.26.2010 - 21:56 | allisonpYour Cinema Snob impression made me laugh. I remember seeing him in the Kickassia episodes and just his voice was so awesome I had to start watching him. Such an awesome episode, having you two together!

10.26.2010 - 21:56 | NCscriticI always thought the Cinema Snob was sort of the Anti-Nostalgia Critic. like, his rival, arch-nemesis or something. and judging by that ending, I think I'm right.
but wait, wouldn't that be the AVGN? hmm, I guess NC has more than one arch-rival...

In hindsight, I should have expected The Cinema Snob as the guest, it is right up his alley. You two play off each other well and I hope to see more things lie this in the future.
As for the movie, it's so silly but awesome. The sequels kinda taint the the memory of how much I enjoyed the first one, but I still enjoy watching it when it comes on.
"Fuck you Lucky Charms!"
Just like "I was frozen today!" You will be responsible for a cult like following over a simple phrase that had faded from most people's consciousness. We'll have nerd signs the likes of which even God has never seen!

The critic died last week and now he's back with no explanation. Continuity people.
Ok all joking aside it was a great episode.

10.26.2010 - 22:16 | Eddy25Uh, I don't think you heard the Leprechaun at the beginning correctly, NC. I believe the bullets did graze him after the four-leaf clover weakened him, but before he passed out, he stated that they wouldn't stop him forever and he'd be back. Sometimes, you've got to hear the dialogue more clearly.
As for what that comment on operations not being able to make someone smarter, haven't you ever heard of the concept that perhaps someone has a tumor or something that hinders one's intelligence?

I agree to a certain degree with the dialog thing, Doug should put even more effort into checking and double checking things out before making a comment or a joke. If he would, we probably wouldn't have the "top 11 nostalgic fuck-ups". But since he is on a schedule I can understand if he doesn't always have the time for that.
And the operation thing:
1. The kid was joking; he literally made fun of the guy by implying that he was stupid.
2. The Critic was joking.
3. Even if the kid was serious, he mentioned adding intelligence into the guys head, not removing a tumor.

Hahaaaa yes Tim Curry quote. That and the balloon with f***ing eyeballs were my favourite parts of your It review so as soon as you replayed it on the phone I just ROFL'd a bit. I actually saw some of this movie on TV last year and turned it off after the rainbow part. Honestly, the make up was fine but I'm just not threatened by waddling. It's like putting a penguin in a freddy mask. You better make more Nostalgia-ween videos this time next year Doug or I will get you... I will... Buhahahaha!!!
-
10.26.2010 - 22:20 | FieldMarshalPatton^3why? it would have just as scary having the lucky charms guy be the villian, and the epic line would be ben-hur epic
