Yeah, it was an awesome twist of fate that all these people came into contact with you and agreed to interviews. At the time of watching the original videos, I couldn't think of a better way to have a tribute to Animaniacs. That hasn't changed. =)
It's cool to hear how this all came together. Like I believe I've said before, I don't plan to make videos. However, I'm still very interested as to what goes into the making of them, especially one this special. Thanks for the commentary Doug; I'm glad you had fun doing this. =D

LOL wow doug, you don't remember how this went down very well-- but I did talk to Rob and not you the whole time so I guess you missed the details haha. I'm just a fan of those guys who was lucky enough to realize that they are humble, and willing to talk to their fans. Really sweet people, every one of them! But you know that now.
John P. McCann can't answer anything seriously. Adorable guy that P-Cann. glad they agreed to do this!
I hope everyone involved [including doug] get's more attention and noteriety from this.
ps) I think some of them knew who you were because I got John to watch Naughtiest Moments and he posted it to his blog.

Special tip: Don't just skim through these comments -- Keeper appears on page 2, and you'll enjoy what he has to say. He was there. With a hat.
Doug and I have more in common that I thought; his views on not talking down to children are mine exactly. I hated being talked down to as a kid and that's why I loved the WBA shows so much.

09.02.2010 - 23:28 | tolchokI got the joke about Sherri Stoner modelling for Belle and Ariel when she really wasn't into princesses. Don't worry if you feel your jokes are too subtle, we as viewers have access to Google and Wikipedia.

I told Rob Walker if you have any technical questions just ask! I could've helped you with the confusion over the animation companies.
deanna Oliver will be happy to know you like her Les Miseranimals music better than the original. ^^
Rob Paulsen is the best voice actor IMO. I'm still kicking myself I didn't get him for this interview x.x For nothing else than to interview him in Yakko's character. [Pinky too]
What can I say? It's Doug. You get used to being in his shadow after awhile. =D
You really gotta have your own show dude... Not that I want you to leave NC. No, you will do NC until you die. Both of you. I have spoken.
Manny the Uncanny is a series of shorts. You can find many of them on Paul's official youtube. www.youtube.com/ boxtops76
If Freakazoid is any indication [it had quite a bit of improv]-- an improv show with these guys will be EPIC.
Somehow I would have pegged doug for a Yakko fan... I am dissapoint. But Slappy is hysterical so I forgive. Actually before I knew daffy was your main influence, I felt like NC was straight up Yakko at times. Probably due to all the Warner refrences [joke thefts?].
Hmmmm... Batman you say? I don't have many connections, but Ruegger and the gang do know Bruce Timm, and Paul dini has an LJ I'm aware of... who knows? We can dream!
I think I proved to Sherri I'm tinier than her...
What a great way to show off your Emmys Tom!
I love the fact that NC's geekout is over Nate out of all the people there. Haha

Wow. All I can think is, small world. I knew that the Nostalgia Critic was pretty big, but I had always sort of thought of him as being on the internet. And when I first saw the interviews, I thought they were spliced from other sources. Then I realized that they were real interviews. It is amazing to know how big Doug has become. Maybe the NC is the new Ebert, only with a larger team being a collaborative effort of many different backgrounds with all the people on this site. Good job, Doug. Loved the interview, and the commentary offered great insight. Can't wait for what amazing things happen next. The Governator perhaps?

what's your thoughts on dark wing Duck, because that is the closest thing I can think of to a Disney series that, really a shocking that was on Disney. Especially when you talk about the band episode, because I felt that that episode was like the day when the producer came down and said okay I go watch this week's upcoming episode's, and they saw that episode and they said it's great, but we can't show this because we're a Christian network, selling your soul to the devil with a bit too much. Not the episode with him dying & talking to God is not bad. so I would really hear your thoughts on that.

Sweet, a commentary to an awesome tribute/interview with the people who helped on one of my favorite TV shows. It's nice to see what went into this nice little episode, and thank you for helping get this together, takineko.
And looking at the time he released it on the site (Sep 2), I can say it doubles as a sort of b-day present for me if I could say so.

09.03.2010 - 01:21 | Captain SiberiaIn Austria? Well, g'day, mate! Throw another shrimp on the barbie for me!
Well of course you record yourself later. That's how news guys do it. One camera. Interview the guy, then go to the angle on the interviewer and have him ask the questions again, smile, etc. Also helps hide the edits.
Them want things cut out? They wrote the "Finger Prince" joke, for crying out loud!
Douglas Trumball said the same thing. You bring talented people to the project and let them do their job, and often, they bring something of themselves to the project that you wouldn't have gotten otherwise.
Well obviously, if you don't go Hollywood, you work outside the system. But really, can you climb any higher? You're the Nostalgia Critic. You could go anyplace right now, point at any person you see, and say, "You aren't the Nostalgia Critic. I am." Hey, I'm looking at starting up my own string of movie criticism videos because of you guys. Yeah, I've got some choice ones I wanna do! 300, Child's Play, Cube, Children of the Corn... Whoa! Back off! These are mine, Critic! You had plenty of time to claim them!
Original aspect ratio: it's the best thing you can do.
Well jazz is dangerous music. It's wild. Jazz people are party people. Classical musicians are more tame and reserved. So then you could compare Carl Stalling scores, with excerpts of Raymond Scott, to Disney's work, and you see that things were more free-wheeling on Warner's side. And the animation was much the same. And I suppose the tradition continued.
Inspiration from Daffy Duck. Ever see the documentary on the Easy Rider dvd?
Feminism: when you don't even notice. You said it!
Anyhow, first a documentary, now a commentary track. You are just gunning for a DVD release, aren't ya?
And of course there's the immortal Billy West. And how about Charlie Adler?
I still have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles album on cassette.
I thought the cursing clashed with the overall tone. But... no but. It didn't work.
Kung Fu Panda. Because god forbid CGI should dream of going any higher.
If we wanna see that, write our...? I'm writing my congressman. That's the person you're supposed to write when you wanna write someone.
Bonus jokes on the DVD? Yes, please?
Cartoon Network show? Those words have lost all meaning. Cartoon Network doesn't care about cartoons anymore.
Of course it took time. It was over an hour long, and you had so much to work with. And the outline was a little looser, wasn't it? I imagine for the movies, you figure out pretty quickly what you want to do, and then you go forward. With this, you had options.
Ahem. Bitten by a radioactive bat.
Love Sherri's improvs! So perfect!
The Spinal Tap actors...
