I am of a similar mind. It's usually at least slightly entertaining to see popular wrestlers try to act in movies like this. Occasionally they succeed, but those cases are rare. Nonetheless, the attempt is ... interesting. =)
Another great review Doug. I very much like your new Scary Slo-mo bit and I hope to see a lot more of it in the coming reviews. Seriously though, those kids were just messed up. Those kids are almost more creepy than Damien in The Omen, possibly moreso with Scary Slo-mo in effect. :scared:

And unfortunately it continues today. Look at The Rock and "The Tooth Fairy". Can you imagine if The Undertaker took part in a family friendly movie?
Anyway, I remember this movie. Even as a little kid I knew that electrocuting someone with high voltage for a prank was just too much. At least in Home Alone 2 the one getting shocked was a wanted felon, and not a ex-wrestler turned nanny trying to make ends meet.

Looking at that kid's bedroom I can only think one thing.
INSANO!!!
Also, has anyone here seen the movie that dares to rip off this boring and ill conceived movie and makes it look like a masterpiece in comparison?
No, not The Pacifier...though it did too.
This one had two guys and came out a year later.
Twin Sitters.
Look it up, but don't watch it. Just remembering it already has me tying a noose.

This movie is not a piece of shit. Is it campy? Yes. Is it a little slow paced? Yes. However, I maintain that this film is still acceptable for a movie aimed at 12 year olds. The kid's stunts do go to the extreme, but the Hulkster did a decent job making it funny. The action was above average for a kids movie and there was a generous ammount of it. The jokes were decent, outside of the puns, and the characters were likable enough. Of course, certain aspects of the movie dive straight into the "so bad it's good" territory, but never go so far as "so bad it's hard to watch". The movie was just OK, but in an era when studios were pumping out more shit than a diarrhetic elephant, Ok doesn't seem too bad.
All that said, great review doug, funny as usual. I particularly liked the way you noted how many times the hulk would have died if this movie had actually happened.

08.25.2010 - 01:16 | SayaCelineAgreed. It's kind of one of those lazy Sunday afternoon movies. Y'know like on USA or something that you just flip on for background noise

08.24.2010 - 21:08 | mcgovernttAwesome. I'm surprised you went with the "Muppet Movie" joke and not a "Short Circuit" joke as both feature Austin "Max/The Dad" Pendleton and you reviewed that movie already. I always confuse him with the Dad from ALF.
