Yes, Mr. Critic, fuck Hollywood. Fuck them hard.
Send That Guy With The Glasses to their studios. Let him laugh as he castrates those that continue to give us shit. Allow him to have torturous sex with the sceneries. Allow him to force the bland actors to deepthroat his dick. Allow him to split the spines of those who believe the American public are a bunch of brainless morons. Rape them, laugh at their misery, don't hold back. Remember that they continue to give us Twlight. Remember they constantly try to throw 3D at us as a term for a bad ass movie, when the movie itself is god awful. Remember Eragon. Remember Avatar The Last Airbender. Remember Twilight.
Rally to That Guy With The Glasses, viewers. Support his plight against the onslaught of stupidity in visual entertainment. Rally to the three generals; Chester A. Bum, The Nostalgia Critic, and That Guy With The Glasses. Continue the fight. CONTINUE THE FIGHT!!!!!
( Others in the battle against Hollywood are
Linkara, Spoony, The Nostalgia Chick, Angry Joe, Film Brain, Benzai, and many more.)

Amen...they continue to rape otherwise decent & quality entertainment in order to turn it into horribafuckus shit (did i spell that right NC?)
i've been saying 'nuke it from orbit, its the only way to be sure' since i was in high school lol...
lets start again...i've seen independent films done on the most minute budgets that were a MILLION times better than 90% of what hollywood has produced i much of my adult life. (and saying that 10% of what they've made in that time, the last decade or so, has been good...i think is being MIGHTY generous...but then i'm extremely picky)

08.20.2010 - 00:39 | kyuuketsukiOh yes I can blame them for the failure of Twilight... It is basic logic... God awful book, with god awful writing, being made into a movie adaptations, and we all know that movie adaptations are always worse than the book counterparts... How could that EVER be good? That's right! IT CAN'T! They should have smelled the shit that was being produced from the first page of the screen play as it was being printed out of the screenwriter's house or office. It probably stunk for miles... They knew what was coming... and they LET IT HAPPEN. It is like allowing m night shyamalan to write anything! We know the guy can't write and what ever he writes/directs will inevitably be horrible... But they allow it to happen anyway! SCREW HOLLYWOOD!

can't agree with you more right there. personally I blame Hollywood for the Twilight fad a SHIT load more than I blame Myer. it's Hollywood's fault! all of it! well....okay, maybe not all of it, but 95% of it is! not only is everything Kyuuketsuki completely true, but if it wasn't for Hollywood, Twilight wouldn't even be popular! it WASN'T popular until the stupid movie came out. it was just some freaky sex dream diary of a fat horny emotional-masochist. and it should have stayed that way, and it would have it wasn't for Hollywood.
-
07.16.2011 - 20:23 | DangerousLokiActually the book was popuplat long before the movie came out. Hence why the movie was made. It was and I believe still is on the best sellers list. The movie wasn't released until after the final book in the series had already been published and released.
Hollywood like anyone else is just trying to make a living. Twilight isn't the fault of Hollywood. Blame all the idiot Twilight fans who convinced them there was a market for it.
That said, Hollywood does make many horrible movies but they make good ones. So, it is what it is. For as bad as Twilight is, it could be worse. It could be Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Or The Room. Or any other of a dozen horrible movies.
Honestly, the Twilight movie isn't even that horrible of a movie. It's certainly a bad movie, with over exagerated characters, poor acting, and a horribly contrived story. They should have spent more time adapting Amelia Atwater-Rhodes work to a movie then that shlock. But I disgress. The point is, the movie is bad but not as bad as most try to make it out to be.

They reason they do that is because others see it as an act of tryng to be better than everyone else, being first was created on the sole purpose of telling others the obvious and treating everything like a race,as a natural instinct with most other people, this is punishable by multiple ways, the famous being telling them to "STFU" or "no body cares faggot".

Poor Harvey Korman. Remember when he had good acting jobs? Sad to say he also reappeared in the sequel. May he rest in peace knowing that we will remember the good, not the bad.
Whip! Stir! Whip! Stir! (or not)
The only question on my mind is how many times Rob would quote Dune lines during the making and writing of this review. Must have been a long and fearful experience. Just remember:
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

"Plot line not explained very well?!" Did you skip the scene where Barney is trying to get Bam Bam to say, "Da da," but he keeps saying his own name instead? Pay attention!

Oh, why did you have to bring up the sequel? I had nearly banished all rememberence of that movie from my brain, and now all the awful is rushing back. No matter how I felt about this movie, that one was just ... T_T
Seriously though, I was never a big fan of The Flintstones either, so the movie didn't really click with me. I could see that many things from the show were translated into the movie, so credit has to be given to the creators for making it true to the source material. No one can fault them for not being very accurate. Still, I was just generally uninterested in the movie. I didn't hate it and I didn't like it.
Your review was quite funny. As soon as you focused on the monkey, I knew what was coming. There wasn't too much else to precisely pin down as funny; it was just overall entertaining. Nice job Doug. =D

I hated this movie growing up, but at least it was better than the sequel! Dear God in Heaven that movie sucked more balls than Elton John, Neil Patrick Harris, and Lance Bass put together!
And you're right! Pebbles Flintstone DOES look like the Olsen Twins! Well caught, and great gag with the Full House Music!
I love all the Dune jokes too! Those are awesome. The riding the sand worms made me laugh.

I don't know if my first post on here actually made it, so I'll make my plea again:

Yeah, he won't let the "Winstone Cigarocks" thing go. However, the Nostalgia Critic's opinion is just that, HIS OPINION. Now in some cases, he may bash a movie, but in real life he may like it. Cinema Snob loves Caligula and he's presently picking it to pieces. Doug Walker is entitled to his opinions, as we all are, and we may not always agree. I didn't agree with him here, but I still found the review enjoying and pretty funny.
-
08.17.2010 - 22:25 | Alice the RabbitI never noticed some of the visual gags in this movie till now. Too bad they're as lame as the movie is, both currently and back then.
And holy crap, I had no idea the villain was Paul Atriedes! That made me love the Dune jokes as a result.
-
08.17.2010 - 22:22 | DylanS
I must respectfully disagree with the Critic's views on this one, though I am grateful he didn't bash it TOO harshly. I do agree, however, with the plot inconsistencies he pointed out, mostly involving Cliff's plan and I like that he didn't focus too much on Rosie O'Donnell as Betty, which is what I was afraid he was going to build the whole review around.

I liked that Doug admitted he doesn't like a show that a lot of people care for. Even though I liked Flintstones I gotta say it is very dated in it's techniques and they did use the same jokes and stuff. Plus when you're older you notice how basic the plots of old cartoons were. For example, I actually liked the old Scooby-Doo a LOT as a kid but even then I kinda found that the repetitiveness of the stories and gags boring and now I find it hard to watch the run-of-the-mill "you meddling kids" hard to tolerate because it's so predictable.
At least in Flintstones there were hijinks that Fred did and it wasn't always predictable BUT the original run of Scooby-Doo ALWAYS had a loser in a mask that got foiled after half-assed investigation with obvious clues. The jokes get reused and weren't very impressive. And as much as people hate Scrappy at least they TRIED to add something to mix stuff up by adding an overeager twerp. It baffles me how anyone would rather the same stuff to something that makes it less obvious that they recycle scripts but change the location and mask the bad guy has.
I should say that I like the newer Scooby-Doo cartoon movies because they tried to make the monsters real and interesting and the What's New Scooby-Doo cartoon series wasn't half-bad. 13 Ghosts was an interesting series too, but I will never get why anyone who's older would want to watch the first bunch of episodes that had the same thing every time.
