Film Brain did a Monkeybone review already for Bad Movie Beatdown. Not saying NC can't do it also, but if you're looking for a Monkeybone bash, this ought to hold you over:

I might be beating a drum on this, but try and argue that Bhargav playing RUFIO is a Bad idea if you have the preverbial gumption. - see...

I wonder when The Nostalgia Critic is gonna review something that isn't complete crap. He should review every Chubby Broccoli production Bond film from 1962's Doctor No to 1999's The World Is Not Enough because those films are a lot of things but complete crap isn't one of them. But The Nostalgia Critic obviously doesn't have the balls to review each Bond film separately every week.

... I hate to say it, but there are quite a few bond movies that fall under the heading "complete crap." Or simply "really really boring." Your opinion may vary.
However, the closer they are to the books, the worse they are (one of the few instances were the books that started the series were worse than the movies they spawned).
Honestly, I know I might not have that good taste in films, but seriously.... I actually think this movies looks OK.
I agree.
I must disagree with you here, Critic, this looks like a silly, light-hearted movie that doesn't take itself seriously. It doesn't look like a "disaster of a movie," and I think calling it such is a bit harsh.
Don't get me wrong, I found the review hilarious, but that's because you're always hilarious. I just disagree that this was a horrible movie. Far from the best, to be sure, but not horrible.
One specific thing I disagree with you on is the sequence around the ten minute mark. Switching between two (or more) unrelated scenes, is quite common (just look at all six of the Star Wars movies for an example), allowing to show simultaneous events while keeping the tension of the respective scenes high. Whether Theodore Rex accomplished it here is certainly up for debate, but I think it's wrong to dismiss such a commonly used editing sequence out of hand.

06.17.2010 - 17:58 | UltimateOneYou're kidding. Right?
Anyone with half a brain can tell this movie is fucking horrendous.
Are you saying that you possess LESS than half a brain? Because i'm sure that's what your comment seems to be saying, to me.
There's no defending this garbage. None.
-
06.27.2010 - 22:18 | sam29Where in Star Wars does this happen? I don't recall two completely unrelated scenes ever occurring simultaneously in Star Wars, not even in the prequels. Don't go saying now about the battles in and off planet, because those were related.
-
06.16.2010 - 21:36 | Kymba_ScionYeah, I remember seeing it as a kid as well, and having the same opinion. You know a kids movie is bad, when kids refuse to watch it.

Wow. This makes Howard the Duck look like an A- homework assignment. I didn't think it was that bad, but by god, what where they thinking. Also, interesting note, Whoopi actually tried to remove herself from production multiple times. So what they do? Give her more money. Yeah, that's were the budget went. Anyway, at least it's a breath of fresh air from last week's review.

This movie wasn't as bad as it was ridiculous. In fact, the lame tail and cookie gags weren't that annoying to me, at least when you compare them to all the absurd things that supposedly existed in the movie's universe. This movie is the first one I have found in a while that didn't even try to be good. It just found a couple of things that could make a somewhat decent trailer and get ticket sales. I hate this movie for that. There was obviously no effort put by most of the creators. Especially at the end. Many of the shots were unoriginal (I could think of at least four films it ripped off, such as ET when they're flying in front of the moon), and as you pointed out, it was very anticlimactic. Wow, this film wasn't that bad, but I guess the fact that you didn't even have to point out most of its flaws was the thing that got me so angry at it. Heck, I was never a TMNT fan, and yet I'd still rather see Betty White team up with them than remember this film. So basically, great review as always, and awful movie.

06.15.2010 - 22:16 | REALmikegordan@ymail.comA little bit of trivia: This movie actually did so horribly during test screenings that they decided not to release this movie in theaters and release it direct-to-video instead. Was their scheme originally to try to gain a quick buck? Maybe. But if that was the case, they failed long before they even started.

06.17.2010 - 10:02 | JoeyJoeJoeThe voice actor for a game with no voices is pretty impressive.
-
06.17.2010 - 17:55 | UltimateOneUh, yeah. Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts 2. How are those for a game and a movie featuring Sephiroth, with no voice acting? Oh wait, no. They did have a voice for the character.
Dumbass.

06.16.2010 - 23:29 | RocketGruntKennyAnnoying is the correct term.
-
06.17.2010 - 17:56 | UltimateOneDon't be so hard on yourself.
No, ok. On second though, be hard on yourself. Your comment IS annoying.
-
06.17.2010 - 22:53 | RocketGruntKennyLet me justify/rephrase: it is of my opinion that the Critic's sense of humor is annoying. I am not saying that nobody should like him; bless him for finding a huge following and audience with his show, and I wish him the best.
However, I just find his sense of humor/jokes annoying, and I personally don't like it. Too much repetition of the same joke, sometimes one joke in particular can go on for too long (the "NO!" fit in the Drop Dead Fred review, or the crying in the Saved By The Bell review), and the screaming and fits of rage can grind my gears.
But as I said, this is just my opinion, and that's it. I'm not trying to disrespect or hate on anybody, I'm just expressing what I think about the Critic.

Er... why are you here? I mean it's obvious from your comment that you've watched multiple Nostalgia Critic reviews, which means that for some reason, you found something that annoys you... and then kept watching it in order to "express your opinion" which is "not disrespectful."
Can someone help me out here? I think this is that thing called "trolling," but I can't be positive.

Do you know that Golberg got a Extra $Million to her contract: after winning a lawsuit against the producers for refusing to sign on to this movie?

I....have....nothing..... else to say.... I have never watch this movie at all. So seeing this movie here, it's the most disgraceful film ever............of all time. Poor Whoopi, what was she thinking? :(

Thank you VERY much, Doug, for having the balls to review this awful movie!
