There's another Sea World in San Diego that is right on the water where this movie clearly takes place. If you and everyone who gave you thumbs up had done your research you'd know that and would've maintained both your dignity and credibility! :pinch: Christ, I hope people read this and get smarter!
-
The movie was filmed at Seaworld Orlando. I'm not sure if they outright state this in the movie but it is implied in the the film that it takes place in a new park just opening, that is the Orlando park. Sorry to burst your bubble there.
-
It's not a new park that's opening, they're opening a new attraction. i/e The new undersea tunnel thingy. Also that gate that the first victim was looking is a gate that separates the park from the open ocean where the damn fish came from! So even if they did film in Orlando clearly this is implied as being the San Diego Sea World. Sorry to burst YOUR bubble. :side:
-
Ehm, you do realize that you actually confirm what MrTpug said.
The movie IS set in a newly opened theme park in Florida. You can check the following websites for it.
Wikipedia: http:// en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Jaws_3-D
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/ title/tt0085750/ plotsummary
allmovies.com: http:// www.allmovie.com/work/ 25914
Rotten Tomatoes: http:// beta.rottentomatoes.com/ m/jaws_3/
And if you can read French, you can also check the official Jaws 3D website: http://www.jaws- 3d.com/blog/
So, MrTpug is right, this movie is more stupid than the Nostalgia Critic showed it to be and your bubble has been bursted once more.

06.01.2010 - 13:13 | JunkWatcherAh, another person who thinks he can insult me over the Internet. I love discussions :P.
But seriously though, what's the problem? There's nothing wrong with being wrong for a change.
So what if this movie is about a park in Florida, while filmed in San Diego, so you implied that it was actually set there. SO WHAT?
This movie is about a killer shark that rampages a theme park. And whether it's in Florida, San Diego or the moon doesn't matter. The Critic didn't notice the location-contradiction (or at least didn't make fun of it). Too bad, but he isn't perfect either. End of discussion.
-
05.31.2010 - 21:10 | redmangcWhat are you talking about this movie was shot in Florida my Former High School provided most of the kids in that movie not to mention my mom and her bother and sisters were in those sea world stands
-
08.13.2010 - 15:01 | JunkWatcherI take it you're from San Diego then? ;).
I never said the movie was SHOT in Florida. It is SET in Florida, meaning the events are happening in Florida Orlando according to the script. The whole discussion is about whether MrTpug is right or not and if there is a mistake in the movie The Critic probably didn't see.
Start reading from the second comment on this video to read the whole story.

-
06.01.2010 - 20:16 | IndyOi, ENOUGH! They imply that it's being shot in Orlando (because it's on the East Coast, nearer to Amity Island). I don't think it was shot in San Diego, because I LIVE in San Diego. I go there whenever I want (and no, it doesn't compare too well with Disneyland, but I like it anyways) and I've never seen one of those locations there. Granted it was shot in the early 80's, but seriously, the places in the movie are nothing like in San Diego. No more bickering! There are no winners or failures here!... Except for this unholy barnacle encrusted whale turd of a movie! Just laugh and be happy that this mess was not shot at an aquatic-themed amusment park near you. ...That would be embarrassing.

05.26.2010 - 09:04 | OriginalPattonI almost forgot about this POS movie. Yes this is the second worst sequel. The worst JAWS sequel is the fourth one because its so dang boring even with Michael Caine. The actual sequel JAWS 2 was a fair sequel. THANK YOU NOSTALGIA CRITIC FOR REVIEWING THIS MOVIE! Please go to a movie unfortunatly past 2000, Aliens Versus Predator Requiem. I know its past it but this movie is so bad you must review it!

05.26.2010 - 19:58 | RuinerXXSinCitySorry but I am calling bullshit on that one. Don't get me wrong Dennis Quaid, and Lou Gosset Jr. have had their moments like "Enemy Mine" for example. Regardless seeing as how Jaws 3-D was basically nothing more then a Sea-world commercial combined with a perfect example of how not to use 3D makes it the worst in the series by far. Having the true Mrs. Brody made Revenge more then just a sequel by name. While it certainly did not do Micheal Caine's career any favors during the 80s, he still managed to make the film a bit more sufferable. On top of all that you have the infamous "Jaws roaring in pain scene" in Revenge adding an absolutely hilarious moment elevating it over 3D which was just boring.
Doug I love ya to death but if I never have to hear you fake an orgasm again for the rest of my life it will be too soon! :)
-
06.01.2010 - 20:20 | IndyGotta hate that roaring shark!... really. Jaws rears his head and roars. In Jaws 4. He roars. I... I can't get over that! Steven Spielberg should sue whoever made that movie!

Yes. Manimal rules. As does Automan.
Okay, a lot doesn't make sense in Manimal. Like his clothes appearing and disappearing, or when he turns into a bird his hands become the claws, or the fact he can turned into a snake and a elephant (Burger King) even if that does not compute with his own mass, but still, Manimal rules.
Thx Doug, thx Brad, for this awesome review!

05.25.2010 - 20:58 | YetAnotherGeekWow...that has got to be some of the worst 3D ever. You can flat out tell which ones were supposed to be 3D.
Also, didn't think you'd go for the hentai joke. I mean, it was odd enough hearing Linkara mention it and NGE, but you too? Not that I'm complaining, but what has this world come to?
Finally, Cinemasnob has gotten me kinda interested in Manimal now. Apparently it didn't last even a year...still, seems kinda fun.
Finally, Cinemasnob has gotten me kinda interested in Manimal now. Apparently it didn't last even a year...still, seems kinda fun.
I could only find one t o r r e n t, ssst, it´s illegal, and that video quality was pretty bad. Like VHS to 320x240 avi, but still, if you want to watch it, there are no dvd´s.
I even think it was the same t o r r e n t CS used.
-
05.26.2010 - 16:34 | CageAquariumWhile it is technically illegal, I dunno if it is really so bad. If there are no DVDs then nobody is losing money on it at all. I could see why torrenting even old games like System Shock is bad (because you can still buy it on Ebay, so there is some argument that someone is losing money and you are stealing) but Manimal?
Hell, go to town. If they didn't care enough to keep it running for more than a year I can't imagine they would care if you downloaded it.
And I wouldn't be surprised if Cinema Snob somehow managed to have the VHS of it. He seems like the kind of guy who would have his own Big Box collection of it somehow.

Coral stealers...really?...I mean, wasn't the story about the giant, killer shark enough? Did they really have to over complicate the story of a shark that kills people at Sea World with the stupidest of plot points like coral stealers?
Awesome cameo from everyone's friendly neighborhood Cinema Snob.

Ah yes, Jaws 3-D! The only film of the franchise that can make me laugh and laugh because of the special effects. Movie four just makes me look at the effects with disgust. Curiously enough, a lot of the jokes you make were similiar to ones I made with my friends when we watched the film for the first time. Glad you pointed out how stupid those coral stealers were and how Jaws didn't seem to want to leave any evidence behind of the attack. This scene would also probably count as a Big Lipped Alligator Moment since the scene comes out of nowhere, is pretty odd, and does not effect the story in anyway.

I work at a movie theater in L.A., and a few years back, we had a special 3-D festival. We brought in a special silver screen and everything. "Jaws 3-D" was one of the better looking of the 3-D films, and, compared to some of the other shlock we played ("Parasite," "Ape," some 3-D porn from the '70s), it was actually solid and well-made in comparison.
I take comfort in the knowledge that the current 3-D trend will eventually pass, like it has so many times in the past.
Keep up the good work.

I saw this movie when I was like, 10. It didn't scare me at all. Hell, I recall I laughed at the part with the floating head. XD Honestly, that's all horror movies have become, really. All gore, no horror. People think they can subsitute extra gore for horror but it really doesn't work. This was a stupid movie. Great review as always, NC!
