I think I saw this movie in theaters. All I really remember was - even at seven years old - how annoying and moronic it was. I guess I was never a fan of ridiculous, painfully repetitive slapstick humor.
Also: what was the deal with this review being available for me to watch on Sunday, anyways?

I loved the whole John Hughes writing the script gag throughout the review. My favorite part has to be the Rear window reference, I thought that scene looked familiar
Even though this was another one of those movies I liked as a kid, I do see that it doesn't even follow the whole Home Alone story so that's a hint to it's crappiness.
P.S. you missed a great "I was frozen today!" gag

You made a lot of great jokes with this one. That kid is just way too smart and some of the John moments were great. However, this is really one of my favorite childhood movies and even to this day. I love the slapstick, how the little kid is able to take out these spies, and love the traps. They are so creative and crazy. Makes you wonder how a kid is able to do that.
The only problem with the review is that you kept looking at this like a John Hughes movie instead of judging by its own mertits and not what the director did in the past. Most of the movies you mentioned you disliked, but I grew up on them and I like them all. Of course, this is your opinion and I respect it, but I think you should have just judge the movies by themselves without comparing them to his past works. By the way, I loved that dog freezing when the cops said freeze. Still makes me chuckle.
Anyways, an alright review overall, but there were plenty of things you seemed to miss that would have been good joke moments, like most of the times when the parrot was talking.
HOWEVER! There is something you need to address. While you dislike this movie, it was still a Home Alone movie in some sense. Now the fourth movie... is worse and is truly more horrendous. Only 3 traps and... you just need to see it and you'll understand why its worst.

The lawnmower trap in this one made me laugh, that guy should have died! lol!

The parents ARE stupid. Maybe the father can be undestandable because his wokr involves a lot of traveling, but the mother.... gee...
Still, try to think to which people this movie was adressed. For kids nowadays thins kind of things can be more entertaining. Even if it is a silly movie, and written by Hughes, i think at some level it can be likeable for some kids.
Still, you make me laugh as always critic :P

Nice Critic. I like the the Rocky joke, that one killed me. I remember gagging while watching this movie. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. It just never competed with the other home alone movies because obviously no original cast and the fact that this one was so watered down in humor and plot and character etc. God awful movie!

Wow, I can't believe how much intellegence they give the kid in this movie. Yes, ALL kids know how to set up security networks and decipher the plans of SPIES. FAIL. 2 was ok, but this just ruined the series.

Hilarious yet again! :D Loved the John Hughes bits. Those traps were the worst! I remember watching this for fun during the Christmas season when it was on TV. I spent the entire latter part of the film bitching about how lucky Alex was that the crooks happen to step in that exact place, or happen to trip that exact wire while standing in that exact step or happen to sit down in that exact chair. Kid was either psychic or he rigged the house for every single possibe thing that bad guys could do to get at him.
