I’ve never seen this movie; only heard of it through its infamy.
I’m glad. This is literally a massacre of anything good, starring the serial killer of comedy himself: Pauly Shore. I would like to see more skewings of Pauly Shore movies, but I’m scared you would kill yourself from pure frustration.
Fantastic review, Doug!
• Apathetic One
I think this was one of your less entertaining reviews...but given the material, I understand. Bio-Dome was a horrible movie then and is even worse now...

Question: if you're supposed to be "apathetic," why do you consider something horrible, less entertaining, or worse? Shouldn't you just not care?
• Thessa

Personlly I think the more horrible the movie Dough is reviwing, the funnier the review. And this review was hilarious cuz of that.
• JohanTW

He didn't mention that one of the good looking scientists was played by Kylie Minogue!
• Cronnix  - Pft
Those "rage about how much you hate a movie" intros are getting pretty boring, get a new intro :P
• Heisanevilgenius

I'd have agreed with you, but the way it was handled in this video was really hilarious. I loved Nostalgia Critic's "notes".
• Cpd868
No. They're not.. because it isn't really that common.. and if people didn't like it, he wouldn't put them on.

Anyway, this review is one of my favourites... And I have to say....

This film is HORRIBLE!!!
• TheWrittenDemon

Of all the movies Critic's reviewed, Many I have enjoyed. I like Jingle All The Way, Lost In Space, Space Jam, Kazaam, Batman And Robin, Quest For Camelot. And even some of the movies he's reviewed like Ninja Turtles 3, I watched after seeing that review and liked it to a lesser degree. But this film is so painful to watch via review that I really don't want to see it. Hell I started to get a headache from the clips he shows in this review.
• NostalgiaCriticFan505104
I WAS FROZEN TODAY! God I just love Christopher Lloyd. Ive always wanted to meet him. Great review Critic.

Ugh. I remember this movie as a kid and I honestly didn't think it was that bad. Man was I an idiot!

The review was ok, but it felt more like a rant almost. Not that your ranting wasn't funny, I just wished you spent some more time focusing on other errors the film had outside of the very unfunny lead characters.

Oh well, you did a great review and pointed out why this is one of the worst comedies ever made. The only other comedy that could be this bad is Disaster Movie.
• ethany

Don't forget Epic Movie, Date Movie, etc. Anything by those guys are terrible.

And I can't say I've ever seen this movie, but the review was pretty good! Not the best, but That doesn't mean it's bad. You did good and I look forward to next Tuesday
• Haon  - Actually...
avatar
Actually, there was one good one. But believe me, this is by the farthest stretch, of the imagination, saying that they had anything to do with it. They were two of the six writers of Scary Movie, there I said it!
• UltimoDude
Well epic movie was pretty funny but the other movies Yesthey are terrible.

At least Seltzer-Berg have their moments. I actually felt offended watching Bio-Dome. Literally, I would rather watch "A Troll in Central Park" than this and I wish I was exaggerating. It is an abhorring, distasteful, audience-insulting, waste of the celluloid tape it was foolishly wiped with.
• ulmuchiha

little kids like those movies but no one likes this so
OWNed
• Dragon_Nexus
I suppose it came out as a rant because the movie itself is so insubstantial there's nothing specific to point out.
• leon101
You want him to focus on errors. How about the movie even being made, as the biggest error of them all.

@InformationGeek

"The only other comedy that could be this bad is Disaster Movie"

Agreed. I couldn't sit through Bio-Dome both times I watched it, and I can't sit through Disaster Movie, and I've even tried twice on that movie too.

I mean, there is a line between "So Bad, It's Good" and "So Bad, It's Painful". This explains why I can sit through Plan 9 From Outer Space, but can never sit through Disaster Movie.
• Stripes
I never saw this movie, but I've seen a few good parodies of it, most notable the Johnny Bravo episode, and I am amazed that they really didn't have to change very much in the parody, lol.

But I know a film that is so unbearable that it makes Bio Dome look like Citizen Kane: Dance Flick. GOD, that had to be the worst film I have ever seen. No creativity, no originality, everything in it is more of a half-assed remake than a parody, and it seemed like every single joke violated the basic rules of comedy. At least with Bio Dome, you were warned in advance that this movie was painfully stupid, but Dance Flick tricks you by having a decent setup and a horrible payoff. And don't get me started on the rapping vagina!

Also, aww, don't make fun of Joey Lauren Adams, Chasing Amy is one of my all time favorite movies! :'(
• Jack Faire
Wait Disaster Movie was a comedy? I thought it was so named because it was a disaster of a movie.
• Peppery Spice
All that I remember of this movie from watching it in my childhood is the “I want Candy” montage, but I could have sworn there was more to this movie than that. Guess I was wrong! ;) I still kind of like it even after being reminded of how silly it is, but that just might be for the Nostalgia Factor (I much prefer Encino Man!).

Also – I WAS FROZEN TODAY!

I have no idea how they got an interview, with him.
• JackBrimstone
avatar
thats ture, getting a interview with Christopher Lloyd is next to impossible because he never gives interviews to promote his upcomming projects. But the C-man is good in everything he is in. even in those terrible movies, he is the highlight of the film.
• AtmanRyu
It kinda looks like Doug and Lloyd just engaged in conversation while someone filmed from behind without his notice.
• CrazyChris576
avatar
I doubt it was without his notice. And it looks like they were at a convention. It probably wasn't an interview, Doug likely just told him that he loves the scene where he says that and wanted to hear him say it IRL. It's not as if Doug is an unknown in the world of pop culture, after all.
• Aardvark
avatar
Poor poor Christopher Lloyd, it seem almost torturous to humor Doug.
• yobothe2nd  - I remember this one...
I actually tried to watch this movie just to see the tenacious d cameo, and I couldn't even make it that far, and fast-forwarding seemed pointless as well. I have really been waiting for NC to rip apart a Pauly Shore movie, and what better one than this?
• Yankeepunk3000  - I just wanted to be on the first page for once lol
I love you all though! do not hate me haha
• edczxcvbnm
I remember Bio-Dome...but it wasn't Pauly Shore's worst movie. Jury Duty? In the Army? Those are both worse and I hope one day you review them as well as they all deserve the beat down =D

That said, great job.
• Peppery Spice
I agree, as long as we don't end up with a Pauly Shore Month, ugh!
• rando99
I can't believe you got Christopher Lloyd to say, "I was frozen today!"
• Yabluke
The intro was really awesome. Im glad I never watched that movie.

Great review!
• Dsantana
avatar
YES! I can't beleive NC got Christopher Lloyd to say "I Was Frozen Today". He looked like he didn't know why he wanted him to say that, but still awsome. I think Tenacious D were the funniest in the movie when I saw it in my opinion just for the fact that they were in this movie, its laughable. I remember Joey Lauren Adams from Married with Children when she played Matt Lablanc's girlfriend. I had the hots for her then and seeing her again, I still do even if she does sound like one of the chipettes.

Great review as always! I used to love this movie as a kid, but when I got older.... yeah.... :cheer:

You should look into doing "Time Bandits"!
• Drumman1000
I second the request for a "Time Bandits" review; or "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" would also be great!
• Spaceparanoid42  - huh?
Time Bandits?! What the hell? That's a good movie! Why are you guys saying he should review that?

SOOO glad that this movie was not attatched to the Bill and Ted franchise. It would have ruined it forever. Now I want to see Ghostbusters again.
• Nightcat

I'm saying he should do "Time Bandits" because there is all these comedy GENIUSES and it's sooooooooooooo boooooooaaaaaaaaaaarrrrri iiiing!!!!!!!

IT IS CANCER DOUG!

Watching this when i was little and going why did i even pay to come see this. My dad was like this was crap

I FUCKEN HATE IT!!!! '

funny intro though lol love the song of the movie though. dont know why

lmao "those of you who were young and didnt remember Pauly Shore is. . .good" hahahah

Wow. Two of the most unfunny actors in a really unfunny movie. At least they weren't in Fergully. That would have been worse. Also, quite surprised to see Christopher Lyoid in your review, how did you get him?

P.S. I feel you pain.

Never saw it before, and now I'll never have to again. My points:
1) I agree; if this was a Bill & Ted sequel, it wouldn't have made any difference.
2) Love the Ghostbusters additions.
3) Which was more painful for Kylie Minogue - doing this movie or having breast cancer? I will only remember her in that white outfit in the "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" video. http:// www.youtube.com/watch? v=Rfr9bhSmfXc (sings) La la la...la la la-la la...
4) Nice 90s Kid cameo.
5) Stephen Baldwin + dreads = calamity (see also the lead singer of Big Mountain).
6) The DIRTY JOBS theme? Seems to fit a little, don't it?

Chillin' with the Weeeeeee-....zullll!

Seriously, thank you for doing this.
• Sheranda  - dreads
avatar
I actually kind of liked that hair style.
• Dr. Fibonacci
The Dirty Jobs theme is "We Care A Lot" by Faith No More. Fairly big in the early 90s. Their biggest hit was probably the song "Epic." Actually a pretty good band with surprising range, but has an acquired taste for some.
• metalbryan
Another excellent video! :D Thank you!
• Closet80sfan  - Bio-Dome is Stupid.
That's what's the film is just plain S.T.U.P.I.D.

It's not funny, it's mundane and just utterly dumb.

Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin= WORSE COMEDY PAIR EVER!

The movie FAILS!
• TheBlackMage

Excellent choice Critic. Then again, anything from Pauly Shore is fair game... know what I mean buuuuddy?

Great review, nice intro and 90s Kid cameo :)
@10:22 - I think when the mom hold their heads under water and had them hold their breaths for over a minutes a lot (in the flashback/crappy joke at 4:56), they developed some type of brain damage from the lack of air and holding their breath for so long. Either that or like you said, their special needs kids or they were dropped when they were babies. (Who knows? Its a movie. Hell I probably won't care after this, and I think you don't care, too.)
• Ethan
avatar
Also, Doug got Christopher Lloyd to say that line in a bit you can find in the Premium area. It's in the Extra section, entitled appropriately "Christopher Lloyd Event" - also worth watching to see Doug do a "happy dance".
• Sheranda
avatar
I wonder if I really should spend twenty-five dollars for the premium.

Anyway, I saw this video on blip.tv yesterday before it was put on this site. That means I saw it with extra scenes at the end. Unfortunately, the other Nostalgia Critic videos weren't like that. Why does Doug wait till really really late at night to post the finished product?! I know that it usually is on schedule, but I have to wait till the day after to watch it, because it's posted so late at night! Okay. I'm done whining.
• asdcxz321
So glad i never paid to see this movie xD

Great review, and is there anyone on the planet who can actually stand Pauly Shore?

And this is probably one of the only movies where I root for the evil asshole.

I was wondering how 90's kid was able to live in a home when clearly Linkara wants him out and he doesn't have a job.

I just heard Faith No More's 'We Care A Lot'
It made me sad it was used in this film :
• Mursa
I get the feeling trapping them in there was intentional. "see how long civil people and the ecosystem can survive these two screeching brain dead howler monkeys"

Unfortunately not long...

I believe that there should be an extremely honest scientist studying all of nature from scratch. I mean, there are countless numbers of false proclamations by the government about nature including evolution and global warming. According to my understanding, what is green wouldn't be as green if the government controls it.
