That was a great episode. I agree, the Murphy is the better of the two. Now you should do Old Vs. New "The Absent Minded Professor"...or "Flubber", however you want to look at that. Because they're the same story.

That may be, but you cannot deny that they are (well, supposed to be) the same story! I agree with you that the Robin Williams version is whack, but still...both movies have flubber in it. Only one is...alive...I can't believe I just said that.

I edited my comment, so it shows the date I last edited it. So did the first few posters to make their comments actually contribute to a discussion, and pretend that they didn't spout a shitty generic "wonderful".
I was merely letting people know that they shouldn't be fooled by these shitty bogus comments. People on the escapist aren't, and treat any "first" comment like spam, and punish the user as such. If TGWTG enforced this kind of thing, we wouldn't have as many people calling first or as many people complaining at the people calling first. It's a vicious cycle, and your best bet is to stay neutral on that stupid shit or actually do something about it if you have the power to.

It's interesting to note that Jerry Lewis actually has approval over the remake, even was a producer on it.
That being said I'm suprised you didn't mention the sequels. No you didn't read that wrong, while everyone knows about "The Klumps" there was also a sequel and semi-remake to Jerry Lewis' that was direct to video and animated. Whether or not it was good I have no idea.

Seconded. I haven't seen Rat Race since I saw it in theaters (and I was young then) and don't really remember much about it (aside from Rowan Atkinson as a narcoleptic). I DO remember much of Mad (abbrev. for convenience) and I practically died laughing during it. I could watch Jonathan Winters destroying that gas station forever and and still entertained by it.

Erm, anyway, this video has piqued my interest in the movies. Based on the clips shown, I think the Jerry Lewis version looks to be a little more appealing. I probably shouldn't make any real judgement on either until I've given both a watch first, though.
