hmm interesting number 8 the guy getting killed is snape from HP who knew snape could sing?
• sandorszaby
The guy's Alan Rickman, and yes, he can sing. He sang a few years ago in a movie called Rasputin. The guy's an inspiration for every actor-to-be. Plus, I don't know why, but, even though I'm straight, he's the only guy I've ever found sexy. Can't explain why.If I could look like any man,I'd say, to hell with Pitt, with Connery,I want to look like Rickman.

@sandorszaby: I think I like you already. Then again, I'm an admin for an Alan Rickman forum, so I might be a little biased...

Also: This Top 11 has replaced Top 11 Nostalgic Mindfucks as my favorite NC countdown. 'Tis poifect.

Oh, I totally agree, this is one of my favorite Top 11 lists. (it's tied with the Top 11 Drug PSAs) Looking at Hellfire... When you're a kid, you don't get any of the more adult references in a lot of movies. When I was a kid, I thought Frodo wanted Esmerelda dead because he thought she was a sinner and that he thought he could change her by marrying her. So yeah.
• Ricamros
avatar
Wow, Frodo is one evil hobbit.
• AstrayKat
It's Frollo. And Alan Rickman's voice is sex personified. Actually there was a study in Britain that showed that Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons both came closest to having the perfect male voice... maybe if we combine the two.
• meridiannemesis
avatar
If you combine them women would die from hart attack all over the world...
Imagine Alan Rickman singing Hellfire..ooohhh
• JeauxMeaux
thanks for the suggestion, I was looking for new fap material.
• fyiusuck
he's also hans gruber in Die HaPr
• Nitrinoxus
Yes, amazingly, Alan Rickman can really sing. And Depp doesn't sound half bad himself.
• DWolf2k2
Agreed on both. When I first heard that Mr. Depp was playing Sweeney Todd, I though it was just friend helping friend out, but then Johnny showed some decent singing chops.
• ThatWhiteGuy
even though it has no lyrics, i would have put in the Imperial March. and if you disagree: FUCK YOU, IT'S STAR WARS! hah! see what i did there! i stole his Die Hard joke! hahahahahaha, huhuhuuhhuhuhu (whimper) (pussy crying) i'm so alone...
• Ollie
Give in to the dark side it is so much easier...

but i agree 100%
"IT's STAR WARS" :D

I knew there'd be a Villains theme song countdown. Been looking forward to this one. ^_!

I had a feeling Ursula's would be on here as well as Frollo's. ^^ I Love Shiver my Timbers! It's a really good song. ^^ Haha And Dr.Facilier!!! I love Kieth!! That song rocks! Nice choices. And once again, awesome intro picture, Marobot!

Edit: O_O Quest for Camelot... Wow. I only loved that movie for the villain. xD haha. Interesting. Good luck, NC!!

He'd better be careful, though. God knows what would happen if the Nostalgia Chick found him stooping in her territory again.
• TheOneManBoxOffice

I also watched Quest for Camelot for the villain, but looking at it now, I somewhat regret it. Also, the songs were absolutely stupid.
• Artisticspaz  - omfg
The fact you included the rocky horror picture show is hilarious....oh that movie......goodtimes

I like your list however I felt that the Grinch should have been put higher up and is it just me or does the #9 song sound like a song from Alladin?

Oh well great list and nice #1 with the Hellfire song
• Solid_Gabriel
avatar
Yeah, I thought the same thing.
#9 sure sounds like it's from Alladin.

I've been a fan for about a year now, and thought I would give my cheers. Please keep doing what you're doing, Doug, it makes my day at the end of the day that you post a new one.

• Wade Wilson
no Jafar he has two songs awww but i knew all the song and there all good so even thought i would of had a jafar song in it i think this is you best list yet... by the way they got some one else to song the end of the scar song or so marzgirl says
• WarriorofNaught  - Wow! I was just talking about villain songs
STOP SPYING ON ME!!!

No seriously; Damn straight about your villain song intro, and YES FROLLO #!! I sing this song every chance I get. The red hoods, I believe, are the condemning voices he envisions against himself and his obsessions.

Major props for using the Night on Bald Mountain Fantasia clips! (Oh and let me use this time to compliment you using 'Goddess of Spring' in your Top 11 Villain list since I wasn't here at the time ;) )

I'm going to check out that Wind and Willows song at #2 it sounds like the Evil Monty Python Troupe. And BTW now you have me wanting something Randy Newman related next :D but good luck with...ugh...Quest...

Love it man!!
• Greenstic
Number 10 was my absolute favorite song when I was a kid because Muppet Treasure Island was my absolute favorite childhood movie. I highly recommend watching it, if only to see Tim Curry as a pirate. Oh, the nostalgia... Great video as always by the way. :D

Edit: SERIOUSLY DUDE, GO SEE MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND! :D

i think that anastasia one is jim cummings voice
• jennawenna214
avatar
D'oh, you beat me to it. But yeah, it is Jim Cummings.
• ThatGuywiththeGuitar  - Nothing like a Jim Cummings' voice performance
avatar
This was an almost unexpected list,as I didn't know you love Chicago,or that song in particular, though I was kind of expecting the Gaston/Mob song from Beauty and the Beast on the list
• thedarklordkeisha
Yup, Jim Cummings did sing "In the Dark of the Night". Interestingly, he also sang the last part of "Be Prepared". Jeremy Irons had trouble singing, so Cummings took over. If you listen to the song closely, you can hear the difference.
• havelock
You can definitely hear it in "Be Prepared" in the phrase "coup of the century". That's always been my favorite part of that song.

N.C., in regards to "Quest for Camelot", break out the bourbon like you did for "Howard the Duck". It's that painful.
• The Black Waltz
avatar
Indeed. I hope you're paying attention Doug, this is going on the next top 11 Nostalgic F*ck-ups!

And I can understand why you've waited so long in reviewing The Quest for Camelot; It's not going to be pretty...

Except for Celine Dione's song, of course.
• EggoROFLs
Not only was Jim Cummings the singing voice of Rasputin, he was also the singing voice of Scar for the end of "Be Prepared." Irons blew out his vocal cords on "YOU WON'T GET A SNIFF WITHOUT ME."
• moonloon
avatar
You know, the Lion King is my absolute favorite movie - I've watched it hundreds of times, at least - and "Be Prepared" is my favorite song so I rewind it and usually listen to it about four times just because of the Awesome so that's a lot more watches for that song alone. I have yet to hear the difference between Jeremy Irons's and Jim Cummings's voices. I know the story, I know the exact spot to start listening for it, I listen for it with an active ear and I still, to this day, can't hear it. I don't know if it's because the "style" of the song goes from that sing-song style of the first verses to the extreme ending so it's hard to compare the two, or what.
• Fuery87
I can sort of hear it, but overall it's a pretty seamless transition. Cummings is good at imitating other actor' voices.

I think "Professional Pirate" is more the official villain song of Muppet Treasure Island. It's also good, but it definitely has a different tone from the opening song.
• Nitrinoxus
Technically, there's two villain songs in Muppet Treasure Island: "Shiver my Timbers", which is the villain song for Captain Flint (the pirate that buried the treasure on the titular isle); and "Professional Pirate", which is Captain Silver's villain song.
• Nitrinoxus
If you listen veeeeerry closely to Scar's voice before the color scheme shifts from yellow to red, and then after the shift, you'd notice the latter stretch of singing sounds more gutteral and rough (similar to the singing voice of Rasputin from Anastasia); that was the point where Irons' voice gave out and Cummings had to finish the song.

What's really crazy is that Jim Cummings was in each film at the 3, 6, and 9 slots on this countdown: in addition to dubbing for Jeremy Irons and Christopher Lloyd, he also played Ray the Firefly from The Princess and the Frog. That's one versatile voice actor.

I luv ur top 11s
• Ahzeya
AWESOME list! And THANK YOU for putting 'Sweet Transvestite" up there. I'm a Rocky Horror fanatic, so you really brightened my mood. And the Shadow Man's song will hopefully go on to terrify a new generation of children. I also loved 'Shiver Me Timbers;' my youngest sister rented it when she was 4 and I remember being shocked at the end where Captain Flint promptly rewarded his crew... by killing them.
Again, great list and if Quest for Camelot goes badly, you can always let the villains in this list torture it.
