I used to love the Conan movies as a kid and still watch when they come on TV. These movies were really some of my earliest experiences in fantasy and honestly still entertain me. Arnold was meant for a role like this. Kool review.

God damnit. TGWTG.com, look at some other websites around you. No one else puts up with this "first" shit. escapist.com autobans people who post before it's possible to have seen the entire video, people who make zero content posts, or trolls or flamers.

It genuinely makes for a better experience by the majority.

Agreed justin, this is the only site i know of that does not punish for first comments, just look at spoonys 3rd robocop upload, the kid flipped out with the first shit.

First comments don't hurt anything and would be a plain stupid reason to ban someone, as would be deleting thier comment if you fel they don't add anything to the discussion of the clip at hand. By that logic both of us would be now facing a ban hammer wouldn't we?

Conan being possibly my FAVORITE movie of all time, I didn't enjoy that review...

especially that you replaced the SUPERB music when they're travelling by the LotR soundtrack which just WISHES it could be as good...

Also I think you missed a bunch of opportunities along the way, you skipped many many parts of the movie (like the thing with the homosexual priest) that were funny worthy...

well I don't want to sound angry though...I just hope not too many people will go on bashing this movie saying it's bad when it's so fucking UNBELIEVABLE

I completely agree. This movie is terrific. There are so many laughable moments, but that only adds to the charm in its case. The snake arrow is a magic homing arrow - it falls into the magical fantasy element the movie, I think, successfully delivers. He talks about picking "wild blueberries" which is probably the most hilarious line. One of the questions is what's more powerful control over men or over steel, in the end, steel controls men, so go figure.

This movie is one of, if not, THE best swords and sorcery adventure ever made.

The Destroyer however, is a piss poor sequel.

Unbelievably bad? Satire my friend, satire.

It's not a bad film. It's quite well-made and the soundtrack is one of the best in the history of film music. Wish you could've mentioned the soundtrack. :(

Im sure when we get to the end of part two NC will go over the high points of the films, including the epic music.

He did praise the soundtrack in the next part of the Conan reviews. He called it some of the best he's ever heard in a movie.

I'm surprised you skipped over the part where he pretends to be gay to get into some cultist robes.

He did seem to rush over some of the more interesting parts of the film, including the Gaint Snake, the soup they where eating at the orgy, and how conan got his fathers sword back.

Umm its satirical mate, it is by no means a bad review, im sure plenty of people like some of the movies being reviewed regardless of what Doug says.

I finally made an account today and I have to say I love the Nostalgic Critic. The movies/shows he criticizes was just too funny! And I also enjoy reading the comments at the end :D Thanks to this review on Conan, I was fully able to have the opportunity to express my opinions on the review :3.

It wasn't as funny as the other videos but I still liked this review. Looking forward to seeing the second part ;3
