The whole time, I figured that Transformers: The Movie would be up there somewhere. Kids everywhere cried when Optimus Prime died (I know I did, same with my older brother), and some kids were so traumatized by four other characters from the show getting killed IN THE FIRST TEN MINUTES, that parents actually took them out of the theatres. And because of the fear of negative backlash, the upcoming G.I.Joe Movie ending was changed at the last minute. Yeah, Duke died from that snake javelin to the heart, but now he only went into a coma.
Yeah, makes sense.

Great video. Filled with tear-jerkers, but ALSO full of funny moments.
I can think of a few things from MY nostalgic childhood that I'd put in, though:
- Optimus Prime's death, from The Transformers Movie
- Hazel's supposed first death from Watership Down ("Bright Eyes" by Art Garfunkel is like the saddest goddamn song in existence.)
- Jack gets shot out of the sky from The Nightmare Before Christmas
- The "Goodbye Blue Sky" sequence from the movie Pink Floyd's The Wall (Yeah, I saw it when I was young once. Maybe that's why I'm f***ed up as a person.)
- The entireity of Grave Of The Fireflies, the saddest anime film in existence, of this I'm sure.

I agree with the Muppets, 5, 4 and 1.. but the rest.. not so much.
There are some better tear jerkers out there:
My Dog Skip: when the boy starts crying to the puppy on the operating table and the puppy wakes up and starts licking his face. This scene will stand on your chest with a pair of pliers and extract the tears one by one.
Transformers: Beast Wars: The death of Dinobot episode.
The Electric Grandmother: This one is a little obscure, but the run through the field before everyone grows up and leaves the house near the end of the movie always made me misty eyed. Even remembering it makes me a little sad.
Homeward Bound: when Shadow comes limping over the hill at the end... damn.Otherwise.. not too bad.

i think the only truly sad scene "shown" on the list that actually got to me was dumbo (still THE BEST disney movie EVER!!) always hated bambi he talked like such a bitch, at first i thought it was a girl plus the name. the one scene i ever remember shedding an actual tear as a kid was when dinobot died in Beast Wars, dude died a warriors death. great ending though "la la la la twit twiddleley twit twiddeley tra la la la la"

I have no soul. I didn't cry at any point during any of those movies. i believe I may be a monster. :o
I also didn't find the review funny or very interesting. This is the first time that's happened. Heck, I saw the blue bird ending coming a minute before it came up. Maybe I'm just having an off day.

Plenty of sad moments, but there was one I was positive would be on that didn't even make the list. The death of Tiny Tim in Mickey's Christmas Carol. I can say with extreme certainty that the sight of Mickey Mouse grieving for loss of his son is one of the most heart-wrenching things i've ever seen in my life. There isn't even any dialogue in the scene. It's just the sheer shock of Mickey Mouse, the embodyment of happiness and innocense, actually CRYING that just hits you like a punch to the stomach. Whenever I see that scene I just want to reach though the TV and give him a big hug. Mickey shouldn't be crying. In fact, they should make that the eleventh commandmant. "Mickey Mouse Shalt Not Be Made To Cry."

It feels like I've not seen the majority of these movies, so I can't relate that much. But I can agree on Disney's crusade of sadness over the years (really, who haven't atleast watched *one* Disney movie?). Also the Artax scene along with "An American tale", all that got pretty sad. I would like give a honorable mention to the film "Fluke". Where a guy dies in a car accident and is reborn as a dog. Because as a kid, it was really depressing when he got in touch with his wife and son again. (and I'll also confess like many others that I'm a dude :P )
I shed a tear :'(
