    BEST REVIEW EVA!!!

  • Rez

Um, it wasn't a review. you just saw a new page and commented as fast as you could.

  • wootsman

    4 real

  • NCftw  - lol

    retards you gotta love'em

  • FAILincorporated

That wasn't a review though. Did you even watch it?

  • PublicEnemy

Your comment may as well say "first!" cause thats all you pretty much said with that comment.

  • RuinerXXSinCity  - Good lord.....

Don't get me wrong I love Doug's stuff as well but this redundant ass kissing on everything he posts is starting to wear thin. Some of these comments are the text appropriations of lining up to give a blow job(Sorry it's late and I can not think of a more "sanitary" metaphor.)I can't read more then a few without feeling like I accidentally stumbled across a "Twilight" forum. For god's sake atleast watch the video before dropping to your knees.

I mean look if you legitimately love one of his reviews as your favorite that is fine. It's just a bit ridiculous seeing(please don't take this as me pointing finger, I am just generalizing)basically just "BEST REVIEW EVER!" over, and over again from the same people it is quickly becoming rather tedious.

Very well done tribute, and I have to admit it certainly did the duo justice. While I hav never always agreed with their opinions (*cough* Catwoman *cough*), I was always able to take them seriously.

P.S. On a side note, with all respect due to Gene Siskel(RIP), Doug you have nothing to worry about in the hair department man.I would have to say you still have at the very least a couple decades before you reach that point. However, I do have to agree that your hair did look a bit goofy in that picture. Though I think that has more to do with the fact that I am always expecting you to be in a hat, and have a goatee.

  • Wermin

    Thanks for the novel.

  • Sakebutori

    Thanks for nothing?

Was there a reason to post that? If you don't read the whole post, don't respond.

Then again if you had read it, you would have known that it was not, in fact, a novel.

  • thatkidwiththepimples  - T_t It was sarcasm...

    ...He's still a douche, though. :)

i actually thought that to myself, but i dnt post because i thought i would be thumbed down :(

  • Objection

commenting without having seen the video. makes no sense. get on a diet and then get a job, may help.

  • ThatScottishGuy

So tempted to do the 100 Facepalms...

  • ThatN00bWithTheQuestions  - Doug...

Sorry to point out a small mistake, but Siskel and Ebert did not use their real voices on The Critic. It was actually an impressionist who sounded exactly like them.

  • b00gyD0wnpr0Ducti0ns  - Research much?

Actually, if you check Roger or Gene's IMDb page, you will see they are credited for their voices on "The Critic." If you never checked IMDb before, I recommend you do because it is badass.

  • jdh1271

wow how could you get that wrong! even in Roger's tribute to Gene they say they provided their own voices!!

  • TheAngryMovieDork.com

But wait, who are Siskel and Ebert owned by?

  • The FanFic Critic  - Um, dude? It wasn't a review!

If you actually took the time to watch the video, you'd see that it was a tribute.

Now that's out of the way, nice tribute, Nostalgia Critic! I was familiar with Ebert & Roper growing up but not with Siskel & Ebert. It was nice to learn about him. Too bad he died. :(

Anyway, I'm looking forward to your next vid!

  • CinemaZebra

I never really liked Roeper, the show's best time was with Siskel. It just seemed incompleted without him.

  • theChancellor  - praying 4 siskel

Doug Great "not" review, and thanks for showing ebert's homage 2 siskel it gave me the 1st good cry I had in a really long time. truly those men were 1 of the great staples of generation Y

  • FamilyGuyFan  - Your movies suck, BUT YOU DONT. lol

Great review, Critic! I love it when u do tributes, i was waiting for this episode to come out! i loved the part with Ma-ti. Keep up the good work, NC!

  • TheAngryMovieDork.com

I remember seeing their review of the re-releases of the Star Wars Trilogy, Siskel seemed really interested in the prequels, I'd have to watch it again to be sure, too bad he didn't live long enough to see Episode I, I would have loved to see him review that, even if he hated it, which he probably would have, infact that would have been funnier, either way, RIP Gene Siskel.

  • orwellianson  - !!

Likewise AMD likewise. That would have been entertaining.

  • powermad9

    Yeah, RIP Gene, RIP

  • Goldheartjessy  - Hmm.....

Ok, lol, there was funny parts but you do prove a point tho...Siskel and Ebert were well known back in the days and their way of interviewing movies was enlightening and funny. It's still kind of sad tho... oh and LOL on the book...

"Your movies suck...but you don't." XD lol

  • TGwtGfan

    i love sikel and ebert :D :D

  • Mithian

    Ah these guys win!

  • Majora1988  - Awesome

    Great review yet again Doug.

  • darkboygv

    Cool as ever Critic :woohoo:

  • That Kid With The Glasses

Nice tribute to some great critics!

  • desecratedsmile  - Great!

    Love it! Keep 'em Coming!

  • Fox_Silent-K

I do say I like a good tragedy, however from what I've seen here we have lost two icons of movie critiquing to the inability to express themselves. Mr. Siskel we hardly knew thee, with the exception on Mr. Ebert which although can't speak express the truth about the Nostalgia Critic's movies, they suck. (just kidding, they're hilarious)

    Ha, ha, testicular cancer.

  • bluenowait

    Strong, plentiful balls!

  • jrhinson

The critic does the critics. Good stuff Doug.

And lulz the critic is prejudice against The Force and Oompa Loompas. :-P

  • ThoraxProductions

after seeing this it makes me want to see more of their work

  • KKmario_fan

Nice Review, I had a feeling that the *Frozen* line would become a running gag :woohoo: like *Chuck Norris* *Elephant* *Big-lipped Alligator Moment* and *Of Course!*

  • tiggerpete

don't forget "Timing!" that will probably stick around for a while.

  • thatkidwiththepimples

    PUT THAT COOKIE DOWN!!

  • KCspur92

I WAS "FROZEN" TODAY!! I'm thinking that will pop up now and then!...

  • finalcloud10

Great review as always, keep them up.

  • Darrell Kaiser

HEY, MAN! Don't give Ben Mankiewicz any shit! He's Tom Mankiewicz's son and Joseph Mankiewicz's grandson! They wrote some damn good movies and Ben, himself, is a good host on TCM!

  • Justthatgirl

I waited nearly five hours for a fifteen minute video... totally worth it! :P

  • maximon

i used to watch them every saturday night to see what movie was coming out. i never watched roeper because i stopped staying up that late. i remember when they didn't agree one time, but most of the times a movie did successful when it got two thumbs up. i'll miss siskel and ebert.

  • Colm

A Great Review for some of the greatest reviewers of our time.

  • Superguy04

I didn't mind Roeper I started with him. I think they were pretty good together, but I always agreed with Ebert more.

  • judgeholden

    Excellent tribute, Doug.

    You got Ebert's autograph? Jealous...

  • VIntage Fan  - An affectionate and funny tribute to two icons

Let's face it, these were the critics we grew up with and they really knew their shit. Even though I totally disagree with them at times, they still came from an honest place and that is all you can really ask of a critic.

I watched Ebert and Roeper but totally lost interest when Roeper left. Lyons and Mankiewicz just lacked something; they seemed too manufactured.

BTW, it was a little shocking to see them cuss each other out. And what is their deal with Protestants???!!! DAMN

That "you don't suck" bit was funny, too.
I liked how much of a trooper you were regarding your hair. B) Also, keep that venom geared at AVGN. You shine brightest that way.

    you and me both! :D

  • greekgeek

Ebert was right you dont suck. great review and it was awful when siskel died... :(

  • RebelTaxi

Why are you playing Sonic 2 music when they're talking about Nintendo's Wizard? Blasphomy!

  • Squeezebox

"Why are you playing Sonic 2 music when they're talking about Nintendo's Wizard?
    Blasphomy!"

He took the clip from YouTube. It was another tribute to Siskel, Ebert, and Roeper and that's the background music that was playing throughout. Believe me, I've seen it.

  • puddy_8ball

As awesome as Casino Night is, I'm glad it wasn't the Critic's call.

  • The Hardcore Kid

HA HA! Take that Nostalgia Critic trolls! Roger Ebert himself said that the Critic DOES NOT SUCK! :D

Great video Doug. Thank you so much for creating this tribute. RIP Gene Siskel

    Isn't everyone?

  • stan666

OF COURSE we all are. Not only does NC have Ebert's autograph, but it says that he doesn't suck!... You just can't get something more awesome than that, can you?

  • LordSchmee

To be fair, a better autograph would be one from Jesus.

Can you imagine getting Jesus' autograph?

Now that I think about it, I'd like to see the critic review "The Thing."

Yes, that has a strong connection to Jesus.

Besides, the review would be littered with "I was frozen today!" clips. It'd be funnier than a midget being taken to Llama land by a troup of Super-hamsters.

As for the tribute - awesome. That's all I can say. I've never seen Siskel and Ebert... probably because they weren't broadcast in the UK, or I was too young and immature to appreciate them at the time. But in any case, this helped me understand the power they held over influencing many minds, young and old.

  • metalbryan

I just watched this on blip and I must say I couldn't agree more. These guys are such a huge part of American pop culture which should never be forgotten. Thank you so much for the retrospective. :)

  • saki

awesome to the nth degree!! :woohoo:

  • thatkidwiththepimples

    Yeah,... well, ...

    N^3TH degree!

    Take that, 'n stuff...
