Agreed! We all love TGWTG and NC, but we all would love to know the true Doug Walker, even if it's in small fragments such as videos like this. Please, continue your true persona

I agree since 90% of the time we see what he hates it's always refreshing to here that there are good movies out there

I probably would have loved Hamlet more if I hadn't had to watch it FOUR TIMES for classes in high school/college. >.

What you said during Ed Wood's part struck a note. I feel the same way about my work. I like it, but understand the possibility of it being crap. Haha

My opinions on these movies:
20 - Haven't seen it, but looks pretty good! And too much Anthony Hopkins is never a bad thing.
19 - Like Titus, haven't seen this one, but the visuals look amazing!
18 - OK, who doesn't love Patton, honestly?
17 - Oh, Tim Burton... you can do no wrong!
16 - To me, Fantasia is one of those movies where I'm not a big fan, but I can see why people like it.
15 - Don Bluth's best, hands down.
14 - Never seen the movie, but I've heard a lot of good things.
13 - Yay, Hayao Miyazaki! His movies put modern Disney to shame.
12 - Not surprised to see some Kubrick on here, because the man is a GENIUS.
11 - Fearless must be one of those underrated gems I always hear about, gotta start watching more of those!

Gaaaah! You put Fantasia on that countdown!
Being a musician myself, I really do not agree with some of the decisions that the animators made in that movie, especially to poor Igor Stravinsky. (They chopped Rite of Spring to ribbons!) There is the matter of time constraints, but I'm honestly surprised they didn't pick shorter pieces to circumvent that. It's not a bad movie or anything, but I still don't agree with the animators' choices.Ah, well, it's got Leopold Stokowski in it, there's that at least.
Nice countdown otherwise!

Good so far. No disappointments yet. My prediction is that Brazil is #1.

When I saw that both Fantasia and Ed Wood were on this list, I knew you had great taste. Can't wait for part 2!
By the way, Fearless looks very interesting. I'll have to Netflix that...

20. I, uh, haven't seen it.
19. Also haven't seen. Looks great, though.
18. Never saw the whole thing. Why is that?
17. I've only seen a little of this one, too! Jeez.
16. Well, yeah, Disney's best. Oh god, I need to go rewatch this.
15. I'm sure I've never seen Secret of Nihm. I think I would remember seeing it.
14. Eh...
13. Fucking loved Spirited Away. Favorite anime film. Hell, it'd be on my all-time favorite movies list, too. Maybe even higher on my list.
12. Only seem a bits of this, too. Why do I deny myself Kubrick?
11. Er, never even heard of this movie!Wow, there are a lot of movies I've got to get on.

Squee! Kenneth Branaugh's Hamlet, Clockwork Orange, and Spirited Away made the list!
Patton, Fearless, and Titus look interesting; I'm thinking of renting one or more to see for myself.

Nice nice nice pick on Titus just nice that I did not expect. Nice. (Have I said that enough) Julie Taymor (The director) if your a fan of her (The director) is also doing 'The Tempest' with Geofrey Rush yeah. Also 90% of Miazaki fans mention Spirited Away as like his masterpiece it's beautiful but I don't think the best story no love for Catbus I guess (That's from Totoro ^.^ probably my favorite, or Naussica) Catbus rule! Also 'Clockwork Orange' the novel in my opinion outweighs the movie but only because it's message is a little more realistic honest and very different. The movie is a classic and almost a catagory of it's very own. Never seen 'Fearless' but I think now I wanna check it out. Fixing to watch part 2!!!

I've got to see these movies. I remember watching Fantasia and I thought it was boring. But maby if I watch it again I might change my mind. Good first part of the top 20.
-
09.17.2009 - 21:21 | Tirade
Its nice to hear from you, the movie fan rather than the character you play.
And its nice to add a few movies on the 'need to see' list that I've missed.

Doug's Movies that made it on my list:
Patton (#120)- Like Doug said, great character study and George C. Scott is incredible.
Ed Wood (#3) - There will never be enough for me to say in terms of why I like this movie so much, I can watch it millions of times and still enjoy it just as much. This will remain in my top 3 for a very long time.
Fantasia (Between #250-200) - EXTRAORDINARY ANIMATION, so beautiful, it's still yet to be topped when it comes to musical sequences.
Spirited Away (#105) - I've never seen anything like this even in my dreams, it's so unbelievably imaginative.
A Clockwork Orange (#6) - I'm a Kubrick fanboy for one, second of all this is another film that I could go on and on about because it's so brilliant on so many levels, everything in it is unique to that film alone and even 38 years later, I haven't seen a movie that resembles in or carries that tone or style.

I sadly have only seen 3 of these 10 videos...
16. Fantasia is awesome!!!
I love every part! well....except the dinosaur part....kinda scared me as a child...15. After watching the top 11 Underrated Nostalia Classics I went onto youtube and found The Secret Of Nimh.....watched and loved it! ^-^
13. SPIRITED AWAY IS BEYOND AMAZING!!!
I love most if not all Miazaki's films (favs are spirited away, castle in the sky, princess mononoke and...yeah like all that ive seen!)
^-^On to part 2!!!
