I saw the cover of this at my neighborhood video store and though it would be scary: "A image of shadowry children against a unholy bloodred sky never knowing that this trick or treating could be thier last that will end in tears, macabre gore, and torture" what is not to love about a horror movie like that.
Thank god for this review it really taught me espically in renting horror movies that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover so to speak.

Actually they made this movie as an oiginal plan to make every halloween movie a different story since anything can happen on halloween. but since people expected michael myers to be in this one they had to bring him back for some even crappier sequels. if they kept the formula to the original plan this movie probably wouldn't seem so bad I mean they killed off michael myers in the second movie so every sequel after that pretty much turned him into a zombie like jason vorhees.

I've watched it a few times.... like arny showing Red Sonja over and over to people... this was my movie I showed to torture people.... so I started paying attention to the god awful "story" not a HUGE mistake tho.... first time or two through it thats what I thought too, that he was a cheater...
EIGHT MORE DAYS TILL HALLOWEEN HALLOWEEN HALLOWEEN... HAHAHAHA nice to see a beat down on one of my most hated possessions.... just a piece of junk I can't come to grips with and toss out

09.17.2009 - 23:07 | TOOTCBHalloween III is fun, if corny. I couldn't say that it was any better or worse than II or 4 (and yes, I used the correct numerals for both films), and only the original and H20 have a clear advantage over those films.

Well, I think Season Of The Witch was a reference to the druid holiday Halloween came from, and the fact that the killing of the kids was meant as a sacrifice. (Wait, that makes less sense) It really wasn't that bad of a movie though, they just shouldn't have called it Halloween: Like if they released People Under The Stairs as Friday the 13 8.

I actually only know this because growing up my brother was a huge Halloween fan but the story of Halloween III goes something like this.
The original Halloween movie was not supposed to have a sequel but they basically threw a bunch of money at John Carpenter and he said "SURE!" and stayed up late drinking and writing the script.
When it came to the third one, I guess they felt the story with Michael Myers was finished and so they wanted to focus on making the series about horrific things that happened on Halloween, and thus this one was made. As you can see though, the fans hated it and so they went back to making the movies about Michael Myers.
I'm not defending the movie in any way. You just seemed really perplexed in the audio so I thought I'd share that if you didn't know. XD

Alex, in my personal opinion, the story of the movie could actually make for a decent horror flick, what with the masks and all, but I really think the angle they went for the movie, along with the bad acting and oh jesus.....lets not forget that HORRIBLE commercial theme song that is burned into your skull by the midpoint of the movie...I dunno, all of that killed it for me. Personally, I think the movie version of Goosebumps' 'The Haunted Mask' was better than this movie.

Yeah I second what TheNewGuy and Meru-Sama said about this one. The first two were just supposed to be the 1st and 2nd part of the Michael Myers story I guess, then they just wanted the rest to be all different horror stories happening on Halloween, hence the name of the movies being Halloween I guess. I also second what Meru said about this movie.......I hate hate HATE this movie. When I first saw it, I was borrowing my friend's entire Halloween collection, and I very nearly broke the dvd to do my friend a favor. He DID warn me it would be a load of shit, but I didnt think it would be as bad as it really was.

This film actually has something of a cult status due to the fact that, taken as its own film and not part of the Halloween series, it actually contains some interesting social commentary about commercialism and such things.
I personally however have mixed feelings about the film and it's the only Halloween movie I don't presently own-well, aside from Rob Zombie's Halloween II, which of course won't be out on DVD for quite awhile considering it only came out in theaters almost a month ago-unless of course they rush it out to DVD to actually release it NEAR HALLOWEEN.
