The asian "Special Forces" chef is Dennis Dun. He played Wang in Big Trouble in Little China. He only made a few movies.
The choreographer of this movie is Corey Yuen. The guy who directed the action in X-Men, among others...
Surprise, surprise! The Yee "who embodies the element of Metal" (METAL!! IT COMES FROM HELL!!) was played by Doug Jones. Abe Sapien and many other roles where he had to where prosthetics.
And hey Scott McNeill! You might remember him from a little Anime called Dragonball?
And "Komodo's" biggest role to date was as Robert the Bruce in Braveheart.
Also, this had a sequel, "Return to Tao" which was Kevin Smith's last movie. Not THAT Kevin Smith! The one who played Ares in Hercules: the Legendary Journey.
And finally, this is a tribute movie to the generations that actually grew up on Martial Arts movies. And I don't mean "Kung fu, snatch a pebble from my hand, grasshopper" shit.
I mean Master Killer Gordon Liu, Zu: Warriors from Zu Mountain, Swordsman 3: the East is Rising, Butterfly Murders, Chinese Ghost Story, Blood Brothers, Five Deadly Venoms, Come Drink with Me type of kung fu. The kind of movies that true fans go after. Not the Kung Fu, made for TV, Jean Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal is the greatest fighter ever kind of bull crap.
Except No Retreat, No Surrender. JCVD was awesome as the Communnist superfighter in that.
-
If you didn't recognize Komodo from either of the movies NC mentioned, you might remember him for another movie where he has to deal with spinning blades of doom, although on the receiving end, as Angus Macfadyen also played Jeff Reinhart, the main protagonist of Saw III.

Even with all that going for it, it still doesn't stop it from being a boring movie. But hey, even some of the greatest actors and directors in the world had to do at least one bad movie in their career. And if it is a movie tribute to the original Kung Fu movies of old, you'd think that someone would have caught that every single person was mispronouncing Tao.

Also, does the bad puppetry on display throughout (especially that yodeling...thing) give anyone else Garbage Pail Kids flashbacks?

Lead a virtuous life by following and embodying the five virtues of the elements.
Be patient for if you are a good person, things will make themselves right in the end.
Sacrifice and hard work can be powerful tools in anybodies life.
And any other cookie cutter bullshit you want to throw in it.
Honestly, it's just a love letter to martial arts movies and the principles they espouse.
And Linkara? Settle down. That's how most manhua play out. Beautiful artwork (Except for the ones they picked for the movie. Honestly, they must have been made in America. If they had known what they were giving him, they would have gone with Jademan comics. Their lines were the SHIT!) with little dialog, letting the setting and subtext sink in. I really prefer them to actual manga myself.

More of a Love letter to Mirage Studios since it involves anthropomorphic animals and southeast Asian fighting.
Dissapointed you didnt throw in a Mati quote but at least you got the Captain planet.
Oh and this Villain dude, this guy has to go in your stock joke footage somewhere alongside 'Of course'. I recommend the 'No...YEEESS!' when he has the warriors chained up and the random shaking of the head you used at the end ;)
