well, for starters, I just measured the length of your post on my screen with a ruler: it is about 6 inches long (My resolution being set at 1280 x 800).

Now, this isn't bad, if not for the fact that you doubled the size of your text and changed the colour so that it would stick out. That is the definition of being an attention whore: doing something in a manner designed to attract attention (and doing so often).

Every time you tell us a story about how you got kicked out of school for threatening someone after they said you were trying to get attention (which in itself is an attention grabbing stunt, because anyone with a braincell in their head would realize that a death threat = instant recognition, even though it is as the crazy mutha-fucka who hates the truth), you are trying to get attention.

Yeah, I do happen to like Luigi better. It's sad that he's so downplayed in comparisin to his brother. I mean, all he gets are two games; Mario is Missing and Luigi's Mansion. What's worse is that only the latter (Luigi's Mansion) was a good game, while Mario is Missing is a pile of crap. Then again, Mario is Missing wasn't exactly MADE by Nintendo, so it shouldn't count.

Dude, that logo is in no way similar to the AVGN's. The Angry Movie Dork's old logo looked A LOT like Confused Matthews'. So I wanted to get him on track and help him come up with something original, or at least something that doesn't seem stolen (as trolls like to say to him). I gave him advice like, "listen to the people and try to do something a little more original." I(Ross) wanted to help The Angry Movie Dork(after all, he's 13. Does he really deserve to be trolled day-after-day?). So, I decided to help him by first making him a new logo. Yes, I MADE HIM THE LOGO! I am a Graphic Design student, and wish to become a cartoonist after college. I approached him, and said that I would help him get on the right foot by making an original logo.
I admit, it didn't take me long to make the logo(only about 2-3 hours, mostly because I was playing around with the design).

It's okay that corporations try to cash in on kids by introducing tie-ins such as this cartoon alongside their popular franchises. It gives these franchises staying power, when done right it gives these ill-defined characters backstories, and above all it shapes our collective childhoods.

But is it too much to ask of them to be slightly less cynical and more thoughtful about it? Is it too much to ask that they finish the backgrounds first? Is it too much to ask that they do their research on the characters and stories before passing them along to us on Saturdays? Apparently... yes to all three. I mean... I'm not even a Mega Man fan, and I'm offended by Captain N's redesign of the little guy. And why the hell does Simon Belmont now sport goggles? Are they some sort of night-vision goggles to aid in his Dracula hunting? As for his whip... I think... I'm just going to leave that one alone...

I should say that Captain N was a little before my time, in the late '80s I had not graduated from PBS's edutainment shows like Sesame Street to corporate-sponsored Saturday morning cartoons yet (if that's what you'd call "graduating" ), so I was not aware of Captain N or its Zelda tie-in episode. But I want to know why they felt compelled to tart up poor Zelda... Why the redesign with the midriff and the one glove? Seriously DIC? Did Michael Jackson, Disney and cocaine really exert that much control over the decade? Sigh...

I have to ask: Why was it that they used Mega Man, a Capcom character, and Simon Belmont, a Konami character, in a Nintendo tv series? I mean, yeah. The games were on the NES, but really. Don't they need permission and stuff to use their characters in a show?

They did have their permission. Although I hear they didn't use those characters as much in the later episodes when they lost funding, dunno if that's true, I never watched this show.

I hear the guy who made this show never even played the video games.

I am starting to love not only Doug Walker, but Rob Walker as well. They really have been putting some great videos together lately! Thank you both for doing this for us :) Keep it up-icis!

PS: the entire time i was watching it,i kept asking myself "where have i seen someone like Captain N before..."
took me awhile to put Captain N and Captain S together. :confused:

We already have Nintendo's "Captain N." and PBC's "Captain S. (Sega)". I wonder if someone, somewhere has stooped low enough to make a Captain Playstation and Captain X-Box? Actually, I can picture using the PS/PS2/PS3 controller as a belt-buckle. Not sure how you'd make an X-Box/360 controller into a "comfortable" belt-buckle. :pinch:

Watching this video made me remember how embarrassing this show could be. Characters didn't look right and places weren't named right.

Animated white people dancing is funny.

Link and Zelda were a lot better in this show for the whole one time you see them.

The Zelda "found an item" chime at Ganon's "coming out party" joke made me have to pause the video. Well done sir.
