Honestly...I am sad there won't be more Critic. But, that is for personal reasons. The Critic gave me something to look forward to during a very difficult point in my life so I am sorry to see him go.
But at the same time, I am trying to give Demo Reel a fair chance. I just don't like it that much so far. It feels like he is trying too hard to be funny instead of just, I dunno, being funny. :/

Not sure if there's much difference between the Critic and Donnie. Both characters are incredibly full of themselves. I think the difference is that the Critic reviews movies and Donnie wants to make movies.

I'd also say that Donnie is much more calm than the Critic was. from what we've seen of him so far, Donnie doesn't seem like the type to explode into a screaming rage rant.......which is why I kind of think the Nostalgia Critic was funnier. I still like Demo Reel, I thought it was funny, just not as funny as Nostalgia Critic.

It was amusing, but nothing spectacular (though I assume you weren't really going for that anyway, just something entertaining). I'm not really sure what it had to do with Demo Reel other than using the character name Donnie DuPre. You could have done this as yourself.

How this new character, Donnie or what ever is different then NC? If Donnie and NC swapped outfits with each other and did each others shows, I probably wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference.
Then again, I still find it funny that Doug wanted to do something new and unique, so instead of reviewing movies, he does bad parodies that I can't even give him a pity laugh.

11.06.2012 - 22:07 | RhewinI don't get people confusing NC and Donnie. Yeah, they're going to be kind of similar simply due to Doug's acting and sense of humor but there are differences. The main one I see is that while the Critic was generally unhappy and pessimistic, Donnie really isn't. In fact there were very few times Donnie didn't seem excited and happy about what he and his team were doing. They're both selfish and self centered, but it's done in two different ways.
If Donnie did a review I doubt he'd be anywhere near as witty or harsh, and the NC wouldn't be able to stand the ridiculous plots and effects. It's just how they are, two different people.
