Didn't Borat had already some gay jokes, so Bruno would be a step back because it only has gay jokes. Oh and I'm sick and tired of this reality show style filming, it looks cheap but damn Bruno had a budget of $42 million and it appears it flopped for the opening. Maybe mister Sacha will learn something from this that people are sick and tired of making movies that present some isolated issues in society that are illustrated as a country wide problems. What's so fascinating to see how stupid can people be in real situations. Oh that's so wonderful to see other peoples life.

Seriously though, movies like Bruno do not appeal to me at all. They're just stupid and not at all humorous. I didn't even see what the big thing with Borak was.Well, the thing with Borat (and Bruno) is that they're less about gay jokes and crazy foreigners (like people seem to insist is the whole movie) and more about exposing how people act and react based on their prejudices when they're not aware of what's going on.
Like Bruno is a mix of peoples homophobia (which gets a bit too terrifyingly accurate to be funny at times), as well as people obsessed with "celebrity" (as in, becoming one, or making their child one) at any cost.

My bad if Homophobia is really a big issue in America. But as I remember it was already dealt in Borat, to some extent, by showing that allot of Americans got really offensive when they got kissed on the cheek. There was also a scene were Borat talks to a cowboy about the fact that in "Kazakhstan" they hang Homosexuals and the Cowboy HI Fives him for that. So technically Bruno is just overusing the subject with the excuse that he wants to make people aware of Homophobia and in the process by covering a controversial subject making money. This movie is technically exploiting homosexuals because it will attract an audience that want to see movie that presents the truth about homosexuality in America. Make money by covering a controversial subject that allot of people will be interested in, now that's "noble".

Good one as always, Chester and "Little Chester". I did a text review of Bruno a couple days ago on my blog, and I gotta say, aside from begging for change at the end and the talking penis, it was a lot like this. So, I guess I can relate, or something.(Though, why I'd want to relate with a Bum and his cynical penis is beyond me.)
