12.07.2012 - 18:03 | JigglysaintOh wow another one. It's like Doug is pulling all these bum reviews out of his...nah, too easy.

I want to see what the Bum has to say about Santa Claus is Comin' to Town! Especially a scene sort of in the middle of the special, involving a song that comes right out of nowhere, has little to no bearing on the plot, has nothing to do with Christmas at all, is ridiculous even in the context of the special. and after it happens is never mentioned again.

12.08.2012 - 08:07 | sunnylYou mean a Big Lipped Alligator Moment?
I don't think I've ever seen Sanata Claus is Comin' to Town actually.

12.08.2012 - 08:41 | theseventhdoctorReligion is fair game for satire.
I don't believe Doug/the Bum said anything untrue about religions except that Whos had them and that they had "Who" in the name.
The only insulting thing I heard was him saying that religions sometimes persecuted people because they thought they had a better way of loving one another, which is true. Religions are supposed to be about peace and love (usually) but there have been many wars fought over religion, that's a historical fact.

Wait, is Doug really agnostic or atheist? I sure as heck don't know. You learn something new everyday. One of my bestest (I know it's improper English) friend is an atheist and she is a lot nicer than some Christians I met. I also have some nice Christian friends tho, and my family is Catholic. I just gave up on religion because I hate the church's history and how political it is. I'll stick to being spiritual thank you very much. I don't need anyone, especially an outdated book, telling me what I should believe in. Still, I believe as long as you are happy and not hurting anyone, it's fine. I wasn't happy with my religion anymore and gave it up. Couldn't be happier.

12.08.2012 - 23:59 | BloodrealmI think Chester is acting this way because he's all Christmassy and warm and dry in the hotel room they got him. He'll be back to normal once he's home, whatever household object that may be at that time.

I always get confused, was it the Grinch or the Nerd who stole Xmas?
And why weren't there any charges brought immediatly against The Grinch? Do the Whos even have a legal system? If they don't have any established law enforcement then by definition there is no Social Contract in place and The Grinch did not stole anything. he just appropiated the goods the Who's should've been minded in the first place. And serves them right,if you ask me. The Court rules in favor of the Defendant.
Next case! :D

The critic is dead let that be it, be happy he doing something inbetween Demo Reel and the show with Rob, you don't have to watch plus this content is free.
-
12.08.2012 - 22:39 | trlkly
No, it isn't. There are ads. And being free has nothing to do with whether you can complain. If it did, there wouldn't be comment sections on every video.
The way Doug killed of the Critic really pissed off some of his fans. He deserves to be reminded of it. Next time, maybe he'll handle it better. There's absolutely no reason that ending the character's arc needed to result in so many people being angry and resentful. There's no reason he needed to poison his Demo Reel idea.
You just don't make a surprise out of killing of a beloved character in your yearly comedy celebration. And you definitely don't do it because you are tired of doing a show. And you definitely don't continue to act like nothing happened. This was just handled really badly.
And, as far as I know, Doug has yet to figure out that he made a mistake.

Love that line. The Bum needed a change in his signature lines... oh okay, here's my change. Damn the puns.

This is my first Bum Christmas review. Sorry, I didn't see the other movies he reviewed; I didn't watch them since there tend to be spoilers. Anyway, I like this new style for Christmas. You have to review Christmas movies somehow, right Doug? :D I liked how Chester made up "Whoristianity"...the religion of the Whos. Makes sense. I mean Christmas is supposed to be about Jesus. And apparently Santa can visit snowflakes...Magic! But yeah, I loved your comments on religion. They were funny. And Chester's comment in the end made me laugh but also feel bad for him. :D: Hopefully the next review will be a movie I saw.
-
I have a question. Why is the bum different all of a sudden? He isn't hyper anymore. I enjoy, " This is the greatest movie ever!" Did i miss the explanation?

12.09.2012 - 01:37 | TheomanZeroMy grandmother called it "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" once as a guess in Charades. It was strange because I'd already established the first word as "How".

Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus, who came to earth to bring salvation to all, so the use of the name Jesus is offensive in jest. I get that Doug may be making a joke about all the "Who religions" that the Who have, and it might have been funny had he not made a pun on the name Jesus.
-
You have the right to be offended. Also, freedom of speech, you do not need always to like what others think about your faith, but you have no right to tell others what they can and can not "insult" (or to have a different opinion).
But of course you have a right to disagree with them.
And wait a minute, it's okay to do a joke about a fictional religion, as long as if does not allude to Christianity and Jesus?Interesting ...
