Oh man, I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it sucks that after a few weeks without a Bum Review Chester gets kicked out of his own :( . But on the other it was still funny! What's even funnier is that when I first saw the teaser for Rango I thought it looked a lot like an animated "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", right down to the trippy design.

i dont think raul should have his own series, cause he isnt doug's character, it would just feel like a rip off. but thats not to say he should get rid of him, mabey a mini series like zodmas.

I think it's a great idea to have him do more stuff like this: basically interupting whoever is talking and taking over. Classic.

I loved the Hunter S. Thompson cameo in Rango, which was a very beautifully animated movie, but as said, the jokes didn't always work. But good action, great voice cast and overall entertaining is all I need.
Good HST impersonation BTW.

I honestly loved this movie. The visuals outdo ANYTHING Pixar has done, and trust me I'm a big fan of Pixar. You need to go into this movie expecting a western though. This isn't a straight up kids movie, and don't be fooled by the trailers, this can get very weird. I'm not even a big fan of westerns either yet I loved this movie. Would gladly pay to see this movie again.

I don't think Jhonny Depp would transfer to animation that well.

I really have mixed feelings and not sure to see it or not....

Did you see "Corpse Bride"? I thought he did pretty well in that. And he did pretty well in this movie too.

I did, but I didn't think he was the lead. I thought it was some other guy... I know he's been in a couple of films as well, but they were just a few cameos.

Absolutely adored this movie and planning on seeing it again this week. Short on jokes, though, huh? I thought it was a nice blend of dark humor and drama, especially for a kid's flick.

The art is worth the movie ticket alone, and I like the symbolism and the metaphorical part of Rango's journey of finding himself. I wouldn't say that it's overly complicated, but it might be a bit challenging for a kid, but in a good way.

No offense, but I can't stand the Hunter S. Thompson guy bait & switch. If I'm watching Nostalgia Critic, I want the Nostalgia Critic. If I'm watching Bum Reviews, I want Chester A. Bum. That convention video featuring Egoraptor was a lot more satisfying than this because it wasn't being disguised as something else. So by all means, give this character his own series, if only so he'll stop invading the established ones.

...his character's face is on the preview before ya hit "play." If you bothered to read the description on the front page, you would see that it even said that the Bum's show would be taken by an unexpected visitor. Don't act like it was a big freaking shock. =/

Clint Eastwood's in this movie? That's pretty awesome. The trailer did remind me of another movie, it wasn't until now that I realize it was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, I wonder if that was done on purpose.

Haven't seen the movie, I've only seen the trailer, and to clarify the look of the main character reminded me of Raoul Duke aka Hunter.S Thompson from fear and loathing in las Vegas. This review made me realize that. If all this makes any less sense, then I apologize.

of course) and I just can't understand why did everybody start moaning? Doug made a very good impression, he refreshed the familiar video, and I'm glad to see the bum review with this alternative character.
But there's the only one dissatisfaction:when I read that the bum's show would be taken by an unexpected visitor I was really excited! but when I saw Puke's face before watching, the feeling of surprise just melted away. Fucking spoiler))))
But the review was really good

XD I should have figured this would happen as soon as I saw Hunter in the movie XD That was such an awesome reference.

I actually liked the movie, though it was a bit weird in pacing at times.

Dad loved it because he's a huge fan of old spaghetti Westerns.

I think this is the first Bum Review I've ever watched where I started the thing knowing absolutely nothing about the movie being reviewed. Seriously, never heard of it bevore I watched this.

Initial reaction: "Whaaaaaaaaaaaat???"

So I Googled it and watched the preview.

Yeah, I figured out pretty quick that it was an animated movie, but still, "WHAAAAAAAAAAAT???"

That really does not look like something I'd want to go see. That really does not look like something I'd be able to sit through without the help of a lot of alcohol. Basically... I'm just not seeing any appeal to this movie.

However, LOVED seeing Raoul Puke again. Great character and entertaining review. :) Very well done. Think I'll wait for my in-laws to get it on DVD, if I ever see it at all, though. XD

I haven't seen Rango yet, but when I saw the trailer a few weeks ago, my first thought was: They remade Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas in CG? Depp, in the clips, was definitely channeling the character. Good to know a lot of others had that observation as well. :)

OT; Rango is a sad movie, its easily the most beautiful movie i have ever seen, but the story is really boring and the attempts at humour falls flat, its still worth seeing just for the visuals, but i really wish they atleast get a mediocre story behind it.
