Also, I haven't seen this movie, nor do I intend to. From what I noticed, each movie is worse than the book, and with how bad the 7th book was, I'm not going to risk it.

Kindly take a long walk off a short pier, the seventh book was awesome. In my opinion this was the first movie done PERFECTLY, seriously besides the beginning they did every scene JUST right.

They missed out huge chunks of exposition and Dumbledore's backstory... which was the best bit of the entire book!
I mean, essentially the movie got the feel and atmosphere of the book really well, but if they only make a Part 2 (which I believe is what they're going for) they will either be cramming way too much story into a crowded movie, or they will leave out important bits and pieces.
Honestly though I can't fault the books. Ever since Twilight came out, Harry Potter reads like a Pulitzer Prize in comparison.

I feel like the first half of the movie was rushed.They tried to get through the scenes as fast as possible and glossed over and in some parts completely disregarded character development,relationships and the drama.The second half however was great!I cried at the ending.Dobby,NNNNNOOOOOOO ! :(

I agree in a way that i found the Last book to be really lacking.
But here comes a twist: I think the movie is FRICKING awesome!
That is the first time for me that the Movie version of a Story is better than the Book.

Seriously though, Deathly Hallows was great. But that dance scene certainly qualifies as a Big Lipped Alligator Moment. I wonder if Ron ever asked Hermaphradorf about it?

I'm not even into anime, but I would gone to the con just to see this live.
As for the darker tone, you have to remember that Deathly Hallows takes place during a full out war, so it's perfectly understandable that the film would present a very dark and unsettling atmosphere. It fits with the story.

That's the reason they had lighter moments in the film, because it needed a little laughter ^_^
Personally, I enjoyed both the movie and this review. :D

Really, this was just hilarious, to bad the movies screwed Dolby over so much, sure he was kinda annoying in the books too, but at least he was around enough that you felt sorry about him dying and not thinking...huh that annoying thing from 5 movies ago is still around? Oh not anymore.
