This movie may just show that people in Hollywood are actually starting to give a crap about whether or not a video-game-based movie is good.

I made a dirt 2 gaming video on youtube and added a review of the game made by Chester in the description (wich was obviously wrote by me), its fan made but I think it fits well with the character, here it goes:
OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO GAME I'VE EVER SCEEN IN MY LIFE!!! So there's this guy, wich turns out to be me. OH MY GOD THEY STOLE MY IDENTITY!!! Oh whait...False alarm, its right here. So apparently in this game you are a rising professionnal rally racer. I was a rising professionnal rally racer once. They kicked me after they extracted my body from the burning vehicle and removed my helmet. This wouldn't have ever happened if I had hidden the racer's body somewhere less obvious. I hanged it to the neck in the garage with the note "Don't worry I'm sleeping." in his hand. BUT BACK TO THE GAME!!! So you do alot of racing around the world, and eventually make friend with other famous rally racer. BUT THOSE FRIENDS SUCKS!!! I made friend with Dave Mirra and he didn't even called me once! I figured that maybe it was because he wanted for me to call him first. I recieved a court order. BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THAT!!! So it turns out that after all that racing the game ends. AND THE ENDING IS AWESOME!!! IT TURNS OUT THAT THE GMAN IS CHUCK NORRIS AND HE LIVES IN JURRASIC PARK 3!!! Or did I dream it? WHATEVER ITS THE BEST GAME EVER MADE!!! Now I wanna talk about another game called Miami Vice, made by Davilex. In one word: CHANGE! YOU GOT CHANGE!? AH COME ON, HELP A GUY OUT WOULD YA!!!

Yeah, I just saw it-- It's not bad at all, and it's a fun, entertaining movie. It's just not epic either. But all around good, (though predictable) fun.

So, in reality, the cast wasn't that far off. That being said Iranians may be White in skin colour but they most certainly do not have White features. And that is the issue I have.

Wouldn't say pop is the best video game ever, not by a long shot. would say that for the metal gear series though, which, wont have a shitty movie associated with it to bring it down several pegs. kojima made sure of that and halted that movie project :)

Bale is at least a fan, and he could kinda pull off the look. But the MGS movie has already been made, it just had weird interactive parts every couple of hours, weird, huh?
But about PoP, if they're changing the plot as much as it sounded like, why call it Prince of Persia, just re-title it so fans don't rip out your spleen and feast upon it. I guess money beats artistic integrity every time though.

The game's sand monsters and peculiarly located spinning blades would have made for a really campy movie, so they made up a story to occupy all that space that would have been filled with wall running and sand monsters. It's actually not that bad.

I love the Bum's expressions in this one. Even the one-nickel-short-of-some- change Bum is shocked by the sheer WTF-ness of the movie.

Well the understanding is most people don't want to see an exact recreation...Usually they go way out to left field, but I'd rather have something abit more unique than just watching the game in live action lol

Except that games do not translate well directly to movies. Games are not movies, nor should they try to be.
Compressing 8-10 hours of gameplay down to a 2 hour movie would be brutal. You'd basically have nothing but exposition dumps and then maybe one climactic fight scene, or you'd have a bunch of disjointed action scenes that no one knows why they're going on. And action games usually would be the *easiest* to translate to movies. God forbid you try and take something like an RPG.

I think this movie confused Bum with it's, um, out there parts .. There was alot of this face going on :0 and :huh:
The movie looked about as Doug said "Standard" which in itself is actually kinda sad I'm glad I went to see Iron Man 2 instead, even though that's standard too as far as comic book movies go, but I did like the first on Robert is pretty good as Iron Man
Philosiphy of Bum: "Oh well, who cares It's COOL!" Sad, but true ... and that applies to alot more things then movies as far as how people view things
Great job as usual, Doug! I know you've probably heard this alot, but you really do rule You have comedy that anyone can enjoy, because it varies and you have something for everyone Glad you also have fun with all of your endevours on the site It shows and it makes quality shows that are funny for everyone involved
P.S. Who names a kid Dustpan? Even as a nick name it's a stupid one I mean "What's your name?" "Dustpan!" "You mean the thing you use with a broom to pick up what is essentially dead skin and dust mite excriment?" "... Yep"

It's [b]Dastan[/b] not Dustin. It means "story" in Persian.
It kind of breaks the games running joke that you never find out his name in the series, but I guess you can't really get away with that in a movie.
