So the bad guy creates this huge iron man suit that is like the Schwartzeneger of the original Iron Man suit. And he's like, " In battle you destroyed my targetting system, so while you lay less than 10 feet away from me I'm going to miss with these incredibly big ass missiles I have." And it turns out that Tony's girlfriend who isn't his girlfriend needs to activate this huge generator to shut down the Schwartzeneger Iron Man, but she's like, " Nooooo." And Tony is like, " Push the button." " You'll die." "Push the button." "You'll die." " Push the button." And the girl's like," Okay." BOOM!!! So, the evil guy dies, even though we never actually saw him die. And after words there's a huge press conference to explain what happened in the sky that night." And the airforce guy is like," Read what's on these cue cards." But Tony is like," No, I'm an incredibly large douche bag who won't listen to you or anyone else." So they go on with the press conference anyway. "Mr. Stark do you have an explanation for what happened last night?" and Tony Stark is like, "The truth is (pause) (Someone throws electric guitar into hands) I AM IRONMAN MAKING AS MUCH MONEY AS THIS MOVIE FRANCHISE CAN." And then the movie ends. OR DOES IT!!! It turns out that they put something at the end of the credits. I was at the end of the credits once, but then I lost my virginity. It's Samuel L. Jackson. He's playing General Fury. Fury, no, that's the last straw I will not have anthromorphic animal drawings in Ironman, oh wait that's a furry. And Furry is like, " I've had it with these mother fucking villains on this mother fucking planet. Join this league were creating." "Will this cause a bunch of fans all over the world to spend all their money?" "Pretty much." "Let's get started."

I surprised you stayed for the teaser after the credits, although, I guess you might have just gone to youtube for that. Or you just heard about it from a friend.
Or you're like me, who went with a group of friends who insist on watching every action movie at the cinema past the credits "just in case."
-
05.25.2010 - 06:40 | Cobblepot27Yes, because god forbid we should watch words on the screen. Our eyes will melt.
Seriously, the increased chance of stingers and/or creative credits in modern cinema aside, these people worked their asses off to bring you this movie, the least you can do is sit through their names.
I hate people who are like "Ahh! Words! Must leave now!" I've missed too many cast lists to these people.
-
05.28.2010 - 17:35 | PriusAH, simpsons movie ftw. I wonder how many people will get this?
-
06.01.2010 - 17:23 | Dragon_NexusTo be fair, how many names do you remember outside of the cast and possibly the director and music score listing?
What relevence in ANY part of your life would knowing the name of Robert Downey Jr's make up artist's assistant?
Staying an extra 5 minutes at the end of the film doesn't give these people any extra money for their hard work. Reading their name will go completely unknown to them. No-one gains anything from you reading a name and forgetting it 6 seconds later.

Woulda swore Clash of Titans would've been the next one. If not for the really botched life ending plot (which could've been handled way better and my apologies if such a thing occured in the comics [never read em]) it would've been perfect but it was fun to watch nonetheless.

Empahisis on the 'Mindless', This movie was disappointing.
They tried to shovel as much shit into 2 hours as humanly possible (and failed), and it hurt the movie a lot, the fun was missing, replaced by mopey peter park...oh wait, I thought I was watching Spider-Man 3.
The ending was bullshit, just a bunch of pixels blowing up, and poorly mind you..seriously pissed me off.
3 stars, Matinee, 5/10....however the fuck you want to put it, this was mediocre at best.
wait! *edit* Don Cheadle...ok, I like him as War Machine...there, something good came out of it after all.
-
05.09.2010 - 23:41 | Kingofkings611I did like the first one better. A lot of nothing happened until the end
-
05.11.2010 - 17:51 | SlyTFSo did the first one. The only battle was at the end of the movie and even that was short.
-

@Spudler: Please stop talking about Spiderman 3 like someone raped your mother. It was a movie, it happened, disapointed alot of fans, some liked it anyway, move the fuck on.
Also? You are full of crap. Everything you just said there was inaccurate, non-analytical, emotional dribble which does not actually state why you thought everything in the film was bad.
Anyway, good Bum episode that made me laugh.
-
05.11.2010 - 17:51 | SlyTFI liked Spiderman 3, mostly cuz It had VENOM! I was just happy to see him in a movie. To me Spidey 3 had all of the other things that made the first 2 great, plus Venom! I havent seen Ironman 2 yet, I want to sooo bad, but last weekend was mothers day, so I couldnt.
-
06.01.2010 - 17:26 | Dragon_NexusI hated Spiderman 3, mostly because it had Venom squeezed in as an after thought to hook in the fans and make it sell.
I would have liked it more if they did like SM2. Show Venom's creation as a hint to the sequel...when he emerges and terrorises the city.
Not as some dumb carrot on a stick.

-
05.09.2010 - 23:56 | kyuketsuki-chanWhatever anyone else says, I loved this movie and thought it was just as funny and action-packed as the first. The only problem I had with it (if any) was how Tony and Pepper talked over each other in almost every scene they were in. But I guess that's just their relationship, and them finally kissing at the end made it a little better. ^w^
Great movie, saw it twice, and eagerly awaiting its DVD release. XD

05.10.2010 - 00:04 | King_WardenYou forgot that Nick Fury was Black..... BLACK no amount of PCness is worth that
-
05.10.2010 - 21:25 | ThoseKidsWithTheComicsNick Fury is BLACK in the ultimate universe, so shut up.
And a quick fact, did you know they f*ckin based ultimate nick fury OFF Sam Jackson. So shut up
-
I don't care if they had to revamp him because he was originally a Vet Nam Vet... making Nick Fury black to somehow offset the all white Avengers or something was a bullshit PC move then and this is only the perpetuation of that.
Also all the people giving anyone with criticism of this movie thumbs down can go fuck themselves.
This movie, while still entertaining, was a severe dissapointment to all the old school Iron Man fans who were at first pleasantly surprised by, then completely blown away by, the first Iron Man movie.
I agree with another review that there was NO tension in any of the fight scenes... he was not going to kill Rhodey, and even when Whiplash first comes out it only when he isn't in the suit there is any risk but even then you KNOW he's going to get it on, and then he handily whoops Whiplash's ass. Sorry, losing one repuslor does not count as not a total mudhole stomping.
And the IM v.s IM's own tech thing was done and done well in the first movie, why can Hulk not have to fight versions of himself or things derived from him (in between splattering the military) and why does IM have the same problem???
At least spiderman got supervillains! Hel, so did Batman even in the shitty movies...
Not having the Mandarin as the main villian after the homages in the first movie out of some fear of being called anti-Asian or something is retarded.
Also the new element thing was comepletely pointless and the first thing comepletely out of canon, and by that I mean that all the things they weren't specifically in the IM comics in the first one were at least permutations of something that was, the new element shit was made up whole cloth for this movie and pretty idiotically pointless...
-
06.01.2010 - 17:27 | Dragon_NexusNt to mention in one comic book featuring Nick Fury, he's asked if there was ever a movie made about him, who would he get to play as him. Without hessitation Nick answers "Samuel L Jackson" stating there's no other actor alive who could come close to doing him justice.

This wasn't a bad movie, but it was not as good as I expected it to be...
First off, I could care less that they changed the color of Nick Fury, Samuel L Jackson played him well. I much rather see a character played by someone who I can believe would be that character than someone I could never see.
Also, the first half of the movie was a little something called CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! Last time I checked, that is pretty important in movies... And quite honestly IT FIT WITH HIS CHARACTER! Tony Stark was an alcoholic womanizer. They just wanted to give reason for his turnaround from the first movie. That and they wanted to set up for the villain (who was AMAZING btw).
They also showed that Howard Stark still had things to teach Tony Stark. Tony Stark is a genius, but his father always seemed to know a bit more, that he left in diaries and journals.
However the two things that annoyed me are that they didn't use War Machine nearly as I would have liked (AKA the final fight scene was slightly disappointing). And they should have had a better introductory fight.
I'd give it about a 7/10, worth watching but could use improvement. And they had better not screw up Thor.

05.10.2010 - 21:28 | ThoseKidsWithTheComicsOF COURSE THEY WILL SCREW UP THOR!!!
Fun FAct: In the next two years, there are over 13 Marvel movies schedlued, including Deadpool, Luke Cage, The Avengers, X-Men prequel, X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2, and more.
So of course they will screw SOME up
