Great review as always :) I loved The Princess and the Frog, but the death... :( Still, pointing out the loopholes was fun...

My mom and I loved it as well. Another fun thing, we found, however, was figuring out what looked like it came from other films. For example, the dress = Cinderella, the alligator = All Dogs Go to Heaven, four people trying to find a magical person to get their wishes granted = The Wizard of Oz, three stupid hunters = Looney Tunes rejects (culminating with a Three Stooges-esque "we all beat each other up" scene)...
Still loved the movie

05.09.2010 - 10:17 | thatgirlwiththepearlsSpeaking of which, I was definitely expecting this movie to have a scene that seems tragic and depressing enough to appeal to nostalgia-infested teenagers and young adults who were easily elated by this movie being announced aside from bashing the tween-oriented direction the company seems to have taken over the past decade because of it being downright immoral and unethical. I guess those folks seem to be extremely paranoid that no one actually wants to make kids cry anymore which will make them fear that they'll end up lacking love and compassion for the world as they mature.

Ha. Awesome, first time I've ever been on first page. Anyways..
I actually wanted to see this movie and my girlfriend was like, "O_o Dude, are you serious?" and I'm like, "Yeah." And she's like, "Oh."
And that's it. Great review!
Oh, and Steveman.. I feel ya. My lady went to sleep an hour ago.. though I think I woke her up. Ha. I suppose it was worth it.

ah yes, the death scene... yes I have to admit it was dark considering a Disney movie but...I didn`t think the story really suffered from it. I mean it was a "Dude, they broke the tradition" moment and it was sad but... I mean there are far worse death scenes in Disney continuity. At last the bug died somehow happy, seeing the others live happy.
and yeah, why does nobody make a joke about the fact, that instead of a kiss, another possibility coulkd have been to throw Naveen against a wall?
-
12.14.2009 - 06:22 | albinotanukiI was saddened too by Ray's death, but it was sweet how he became a star to be with his "Evangeline".
-
01.12.2010 - 00:15 | Not Shelley Duvallray is quite possibly the sweetest disney character i've seen in a long time. his devotion to evangeline...and becoming a star at the end...i got teary-eyed. so yeah, even though it was a little dark, at least it was a tug-at-your-heartstrings moment.
