Marion's art really is amazing. If you look at the art at 7:26, there appears to be the name "Maya" going across the character's robes, but the letters are drawn in such a way that they are part of the artwork, and appear subtly. This very much reminds me of the late Al Hirschfeld's art for The New Yorker magazine, where he would subtly insert his daughter Nina's name into his creations. Even the long and wavy line strokes of Marion's art here remind me of that.
What amazes me is that there are so many different styles to her creations, and that Hirschfeldian style is just one of them. This is very well done. Congratulations!

Another enjoyable edition of "Artist's Alley". It's always really interesting hearing where different artists get a lot of their inspiration and influences from. Considering this was a convention in Austria, it was especially cool to see work from artists around the world; a trend I hope to see in future "Artist's Alley" episodes. ;)
Keep 'em coming!

09.12.2010 - 22:48 | FDeityI laughed quite a bit when I saw Benzai there. But the weird thing is, I've seen a couple of Marion's works before. =D
Keep up with the art

09.12.2010 - 23:21 | chewee123Seeing other people's art just goes to show you that there are many talented people out there.
You should come to FanExpo next year in Toronto. That would be awesome.

I think it's about time I commented on how much I love this little section really neat detail. c:
holly cow! So Marion's the one who did the Kickassia art! I had stumbled upon her DA account before, but never really realized anything other than the super cool and original work she does. x)
Great episode! :D

09.13.2010 - 00:20 | MetalMike007Wow, this is considerably better than the last Artist's Gallery - not because you did anything worse last time, but because these artists were on the whole vastly better artists and much more original in style than the last group on the whole. Marion's style in particular I absolutely love - not quite anime, not quite Western cartoon, very curvy, but I don't think Kim Possible is a very good comparison. American cartoons in general tend to lack subtlety in design, which I think Marion's work has in spades. Her animation is also incredibly impressive for a solo artist, and I definitely look forward to seeing her name in lights someday :D

Personally, I was disappointed by this "artist's alley" at Aninite. There are barely people there and most don't even make it known IF they sell comissions. They just promote their stuff, which is GOOD, that's what their there for, but I am really missing more people flat out stating "hey, you pay me, I draw whatever you want". I guess we'd just need more people there in general.
That's one of the reasons why Maryon was SO awesome. She made really great sketches and didn't even ask for much money for them. So I got not only Beary and his worthless minions:

But also got the chance to finally begin my Indigo and Hank Pym sketchbook:
