I know the feeling! I mean, I'm pretty calm around nudity(I saw Equus twice, and although the nude scene was my favorite, it wasn't because they were naked, but because it ended in what I would call a Native American tribal dance), and the whole time I was there, the moviegoers HAD to point Manhattan's glowing dick out!!! All I could think was: Yeah, guys, REAL mature!!!

The 5 seconds hardly explains the movie, of course, but it's a nice dig at the crowd thinking "OH NOES!" about the casual male nudity. But then, who could distill Watchmen into 5 seconds anyway? Zack Snyder had his job cut out for him just distilling it into just shy of three hours of film (which he did fairly well, IMHO).
BTW, for those who haven't seen the movie yet, no, Dr. Manhattan does not really ask anyone, "Would you like to see my blue penis?"

*snicker* I was surprised that the movie DID show Doc Manhattan's penis, but it wasn't really that distracting. I found he looked more like a Grecian statue, not to mention that he was reborn, and nudity is generally a representative of that theme.
And yes, I agree, that movie KICKED SO MUCH ASS!! My boyfriend and I were spazzing out at every turn and well after the credits rolled. :D

I have to say, i loved the film.
Yeah, the nudity was a bit annoying, and I wish the dong was toned down A BIT, (he's circumcised, for fucks sakes!) but it's not like it was horrible and nauseating in any way.
Also, for some reason, my audience didn't really react to Manhattan's nude demeanor (at least, they didn't Scream), but they Did cheer every time Rorschach did something evil.
Yup.
Slash someone's head open with an axe repeatedly?
WHOOO!!
Burn a guy with french fry fat?
CLAPCLAPCLAP!!
Burn a cop alive? Shoot another with a Grappling Hook from point-blank?
Yyyyeeaahhh!
Me and my friend were just looking at eachother nervously the whole time...

Actually, I think the new ending better fit the context of the story than the original. While the original ending was great, there had to be cuts somewhere in the story to keep it from being too long, but still keeping in the info that you need to understand it. Fiddling with the ending, which really only changed the scapegoat used, was how they could achieve this. I thought it worked very well.

Great movie. But Manhattan's glowing, blue schlong really caught me off guard. And everytime it showed most of theaters would giggle like little girls.
It was interesting, a little long, but definitely watchable if you have the patience. (Seriously, people were walking out of the theater an hour before it ended)
The one thing that really disappointed me was the ending. I didn't really understand what Ozymandias was doing or why, or why they let him go in the end.
Yeah I think I've seen enough blue schlong to last several existances. Nice video dude!
