I just think he forgot that he wasn't in Denmark where people would just shrug him of because everyone knows he's a dick. And I think the comment was more offensive than intended because he really is terrible at wording things in english... He should have just said that he thought Susanne Bier was a bitch and dropped the whole nazi jew talk.

When I heard he got banned from Cannes because of his little "incident", I couldn't help but think they had overreacted a bit... On the other hand I was thinking: Why Trier, why did you feel the need to do that!!?

This 5 seconds says nothing of what he thinks on the quality of the movie. His twitter: "Oh, and Melancholia was good. Wonderful visuals and thematically solid, if not astronomically solid."

5 second movies aren't really supposed to say something about the movie, it's more or less about grabbing onto something identifiable about the plot, characters, etc. and turning it into a quick joke or non-joke. In this case, Melancholia has planets smashing into each other, so the reference to Red Dwarf where Lister is playing galactic snooker is a good fit, imo.
