That last PitBull's song Todd reviewed, the one from MiB3? I kinda liked it. What I mean by "I kinda liked it" is that - the sample he used there, taken from Mickey and Sylvia's "Love is Strange" was fun, the rest of the song was a useless burden on it.

Ok, so more accurate would be to say I liked "Love is Strange" rather than the Pitbull's feeble attempt.

Still he at least chosen fine song to rip off.

Agreed. God, I loved the guitar part. But how he sampled the "Baby" part sounded weird. It sounded like they were saying, "What an ugly baby." Well, at least it gives my sister and me a laugh every time we hear it.

Wow, that is just sad. I thought we finally got rid of Christina Aguilera.

Unfortunately, she is the one person who realized her entire comeback was the cause of her being on a singing contest program, and without it she was nothing, so she swallowed her pride and U-turned back to NBC.

Somehow this never occurred to Jennifer Lopez.

I'm not a fan of this new trend of using 80s one-hit wonders in songs. It's starting to piss me off. And this is the second-worst one yet ("Dirty Bit" was still more annoying). Great vid.

I love your reviews, Todd. Why aren't there more music reviewers out there?

Oh..Pitbull. When will you learn? Stop sampling good songs for your poorly recorded garbage. This is not the way to use sampling and synthesizers at all. I see Christina do a bad collaboration every 3 months with a similar washed up artist...move on already lady. Great review and glad to see some blasts from the past, Todd.

I have the tendency to hate any song that samples, right away. It's lazy and unoriginal. I'd rather listen to the original which is probably much much better than the song that samples it.

I agree. My only exception would be Eminem's "Stan", because he actually asked Dido, and she worked together with him.

Two 30 rock references?? You're a man after my own heart, Todd

I KNEW you were going to bag on this song sooner or later. Sounded like it'd be up your shit list. I was actually starting to download the videos and clips to rip it a new one myself last night (easy to do), but looks like ya beat me to it.

Should add: You missed a big thing that strikes me about the song - "I'm from the dirty, but that chico nice." Looking at the definition, a chico, unless he's referring to the small city in Nor. Cal or a chihuahua, he said "that boy nice." Nothing against gay people as I'm gay myself, I just find it funny he doesn't know his own lingo.

Sick of Pitbull, sick of this song.

How much further music like this can it go lower? And WHY is it taking "Take On Me" bits for this?! WHY?!

Todd, I'm glad you review this because I just saw this music video just 5 hours ago on MUCH channel and it is nothing great about it. Even with Christina Aguilera it doesn't do ANYTHING.

    Great :/

I actually like Christina Aguilera. She's not one of my favourite singers, but I do have a few of her albums. I didn't buy Lotus though. I wasn't interested. She makes this song more listenable. If it was just her and the music (minus the pilfering of Take On Me) I'd probably like it. But then we have Pitbull talking about his usual Pitbull stuff, like you said. It's nothing new.

Good use of reusing clips from your old reviews. If he isn't putting in the effort to do something new, why should you?

I hate when terrible songs take samples from much better songs. There was another time I heard a song on the radio that sampled a Queen song, though I've thankfully blocked out the details of that horribleness. And I'm not saying don't use samples ever, because there are good songs that use samples. This just isn't one of them.
  • HMorris73
Yeah, this one's pretty bad. "Just Give Me a Reason" has grown a lot on me lately though, I actually think it's a pretty moving song.

Am I the only one that had Vacation's "Holiday Road" superimposed in my mind over Christina Aguilera's vocals in this song?

I spent a good portion of this review trying to place what it reminded me of. Thank you. Sort of.

I don't really mind Pitbull videos since I realized how goofy he is. Just his expressions are priceless. He's like this weird little goblin in an expensive suit. For some reason I find it hilarious. But yeah, the song is bad.

Seriously, this song... I don't get it at all.
It's so .... soulless. When ever it comes on I change station instantly. If they don't care about their work then why should I? :P
  • WizeOaldOwl
This is one of those songs where, really, nothing works. The whole thing just falls flat because Pitbull fails to distinguish himself from... Well, anything else he's ever done. Same old tired bragging about making money? Check. Same old bragging about places he's been? Check. Same old unnecessary and slightly inaccurate Spanish? Check. Same old bland party lines? Check. Same old saying his numerous stupid nicknames over and over for no reason? Check. But what about Christina? You know, I kinda used to like her. I do like her voice, but, like everyone else, the over singing kills it for me. It's a nice melody, but it just feels so soulless and meaningless. You're absolutely right that it's way too serious for Pitbull to be doing. So, what about the sample? Eh. To be honest, I'm not bothered as much as I am just wondering why. It doesn't sound all that bad, it just feels kinda lazy. So how do I feel about the song as a whole? Well, you've got Pitbull doing the same Pitbull routine as ever, Christina Aguilera over singing a nice melody with as much soul as a rock, and an unnecessary sample of an 80's song that doesn't evoke a reaction. In fact, I'd say the whole song just doesn't evoke any reaction at all from me. I'd say there are probably some worse songs out right now because, to me, this isn't bad as much as it is forgettable.
  • hauntedufo
This is one those songs that's a hit but hardly anyone would admit to liking it because it's so terrible. It's lazy and all been done before, and even worse it samples a great song like 'Take On Me' and uses it to make this waste of time.

I actually quite like Christina Aguilera, but she doesn't add anything positive to this track.

I've never heard of that DrunkenMunkey track before this review, and I'm pleased I haven't heard it. You have my sympathies if you had to listen to that over and over and over again on a store radio.

I gotta confess, I liked the "Take on Me" synth hook in this song, it sounds awesome.

too bad it's part of a shitty Pitbull song, which is still insulting to the original "Take on Me".

and dear God, that DrunkenMunkey song sounds horrible, even though I only listened to a few seconds of it, it made me almost puked my lunch, as someone who enjoys listening to various genres of electronic music, I was offended.

Kind of like I like the weird sound effect on Toxic, it is just too bad it was surrounded by so much Britteny Spears.

Good job, Todd. The joke with you sampling from your older reviews, very clever.
    Keep up the good work.
  • Kevin R.
I'm shocked, SHOCKED, that you didn't nail Pitbull for the corny Fifty Shades of Grey reference.

"You read books? Especially about red rooms and tie-ups? I got her hooked."

I was waiting the whole review for you to rip that line to shreds. Todd, I am disappoint.

Pitbull, why are you still here? This song is..just bad. Stop sampling songs!
  • mannequinmel  - Actually...
This is the only Pitbull song that I've ever bought and probably ever will buy. I like it. Yes, it doesn't make sense and it's not intelligent but it's fun. And sometimes you need a song like that. Although, I hate when artists constantly sample songs and Pitbull is starting to do that more and more often. Hopefully, this is the last song for that but I doubt it.
  • dr_kramik  - You must be tone deaf.

Personally I think the 'sweet nothing' song is a fine song. It's nothing special but it is catchy with good vocals and a good beat.

But yeah, this song. Although the hook GETS INTO YOUR HEAD AND NEVER LEAVES, the song is just too overdone and over the top in every way and I've honestly don't even know what Pitbull was actually thinking.

But it he's going for catchy, then NAILED IT.
