It begins again! Now for a three person strike team to take down this sequel that nobody wanted. Grab your coat hangers and lets get this over with.

    There's a Birdemic 2? WHY?!

Lupa, don't take this the wrong way, but I think there's something wrong with the big toe on your left foot.
  • PatheticManatee  - Why not Birdemic 2?
    avatar
Birdemic made a ton of money, given its production costs. Plus it was a great movie, unintentionally hilarious from beginning to end. So Nguyen had some backers who wanted a sequel. They gave him money, and he made the sequel. We get another awkwardly bad movie, albeit one that's a little too tongue-in-cheek.

    No one loses.

Ah, drinking game time. Everybody get out a shot glass & whatever won't kill ya.

10% of the people in Seattle have the last name Nguyen & this is actually the first time I've ever heard it pronounced.

Giant Jumbo Jellyfish Games on Motorcycles!

    Yeah, sweet crossover XD

I want to see Lupa & Phelous play "Limbo of the Lost."
  • Godzilla Fanboy  - Nope.

Can't find the box office gross. Meaning it didn't make any. Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! promoted the movie. Which made it into the cult classic that everybody knows. They did same thing with The Room after it premiered on Adult Swim on April Fools' Day. Word of mouth also helped. And the internet.

@Cole Yote I guess that the vacuum and the shower were broken at that time.

Argh, Lupas in this? I'm sorry but that's too much Phealous. I'm out.

Five seconds in and already I gotta say something.

Really, Phelous? Four ads in a 40 minute video? And I thought ERod's Episode 1 reviews were a blatant ad cashgrab.
  • Ela
    avatar
WesleyFoxx he might have a good reason. Maybe he's trying to save up to travel or something. Why judge? And who cares really? I don't mind watching some ads to support producers.
  • fanime1
    avatar
Exactly! And since Phelous is my favorite reviewer here, I'm more than happy to sit through more than average ads for him. Especially, being in a long distance relationship myself, I know how expensive it must be for Phelous to see Lupa. :') Hang in there you two!
  • WesleyFoxx
    avatar
I could gladly accept A. him straight up saying "hey I'm gonna be putting in some extra commercials to help pay for [x]" or B. by producing more content and spreading out the ads.

I would also be less likely to be all judge-y if I had a higher opinion of his videos. I certainly got off ERod's back when he started producing better videos instead of just wanking off his ego.

Aren't you special. You know what? Since you're such a precious cuddlebunny snowflake and the best person ever on the internet, no more ads for you ever. I'm going to get my magic adblock wand and twirl it hither and fro because you are just. That. Special.
  • Malidictus
That's some weird combination of a slippery slope argument and unnecessary ad-hominem attack that I'm dubbing "insulting for the sake of being insulting." Good job, you found a new way to troll people that I don't know I'd seen before.

Besides, yeah - AdBlock. I'm pretty sure Phelos would prefer we watch his videos and his commercials.
  • Devilfish
    avatar
Who, me? What insults? I am waving my adblock wand as hard as I can! Twirl and twirl I do! Fiddlesticks, is it not working?

Children, children from all over the comment section, I need your help! I need everyone's help to make this right! Join hands now children, everybody join hands, and say it together!

    AdBlockPlus. Problem solved.

I always pause it on one advert videos, but beyond that it's just ridiculous.

I'm probably going to pause it for this though. I bloody love Brad.
  • WesleyFoxx
    avatar
He shows up for about three minutes towards the end. If you're expecting him to contribute to the review beyond one skit, haha, silly Salfordio, that's giving them WAY too much credit. There's no room for genuine humor with all these "we're so bad its funny!" jokes

(Except its not funny, because the movie is already bad, and you're just doing an overly sarcastic exaggeration of it, which doesn't come off as funny, it comes off as smug and obnoxious. But its okay because we do a Rob Schneider voice!)
  • Salfordio
    avatar
Sorry, I didn't get that far. This really wasn't funny. At all.

    Still, to each their own.

Someone should alert the authorities about this roving gang of madmen who go around breaking into people's houses and forcing them to watch internet videos they don't like at gunpoint.
  • WesleyFoxx
    avatar
I'm not at all surprised that you're whiteknighting him; You seem really preoccupied with beating the people over the head with sarcasm.

Just because I'm not being forced at gunpoint to watch it does not exempt it from criticism.
  • Devilfish
    avatar
Poor sweet hero. What must it be like, guarding the purity of the creative community minute after lonely minute, uninvited images of Subway Sandwiches and Coke Zero swimming in your mind as your lonely vigil continues and stretches out before you into infinity. How could we possible imagine a world in which creative works went unscrutinized and uncritiqued, by you, a world in which any knave and villain could assault our innocence with poorly shot video and objectively terrible attempts to amuse. How can you rest when evil abounds?

I say no more. I say it is time to see that world, and bravely, boldly fight as a community, as a brotherhood, so that you may finally rest. Lay down your head, sweet hero. Your thankless task is at and end. We will take this burden from you, we will strike down ego-wanking-offing wherever we may encounter it according to the Scrolls of What Wesleyfoxx Finds Amusing, and a new age of enlightenment will wash over the unhallowed halls of the internet like a cleansing flood ordained from on high.

Sleep now, sweet hero, and rest, for when the forces of unrepentant internet video producers once again conspire to rob us of our precious minutes, the world may call on you once again.
  • WesleyFoxx
    avatar
No, please, keep going. You're really helping your case by being an asshole to someone who is reasonably expressing their opinion.

You seem like the type who was rolling in the aisles when the Critic did his overly long "you are such a master of voiceover acting" bit in Eight Crazy Nights. Mmm, yes, delicious sarcasm, pour it all over me. Bathe in the seething anger and vitriol.

What is this youtube? Stay classy friends. Except for the squirrel, I like the squirrels sarcasm.
  • Troodon
Yes, let's use AdBlock! Let's deprive people that produce entertainment for us for free from the only source of income they make doing this!
  • mikeysama
I whitelisted the recently re-launched Normal Boots (Jontron and PBG's site) because the ads were sensible. Blip's shooting itself in the foot with this shit.
  • Troodon
Do you realize that when you watch TV, 1/4 of the running time is devoted to commercial breaks? I never figured out why people expect internet videoes to be held to some higher standard. Honestly the only thing I find annoying about the commercial breaks is that it's always the same two commercials over and over.

Unless you paid money to Phelous for the sake of making the video you don't have a legitimate basis to complain. You're getting entertainment for free. The commercials pay the rent of the people you watch.
  • mikeysama
Do you realize your argument amounts to "it's tradition, that makes it ok"? Or that I have yet to find another platform that crams 4 ads into a video, runs ads halfway through, or includes banners DURING the video? Really detracts from the experience.

Furthermore, big business television has the sort of budgets and polish that warrants such a high number of ads. Phelous is very entertaining imo, but he isn't producing Breaking Bad here. Nevermind that the TV way of doing things is going the way of the dinosaur.

I'm not demanding Phelous or anyone on this site make content for free, that's just asinine. But there has to be a point where enough is enough. If not for adblock, I wouldn't visit this site at all, and I think blip has actually driven more people to look into ad-block. Honestly, it's a tricky and somewhat abstract problem, and I think blip is going about it wrong.

Again, Jontron seems to be doing just fine with his 2 site image ads and one ad before the video.
  • AStrangeBeing
    avatar
Breaking Bad isn't even that good. Lot of unrealistic shit and coincidences in it. Not to mention the terrible female characters worthy of Nolan.

And no. This is my opinion, not trolling.
  • ratcatcher
    avatar
What does realism have to do with quality? (I haven't actually watched an episode of the show. I'm just wondering.)
  • AStrangeBeing
    avatar
Because the show makes itself out to be ultrarealistic, even if it's far from it. It almost plays out like a soap opera. Plus, it's more of a plot-driven show than character-driven, so I have no doubt Doug won't have strong opinions on it.
  • ratcatcher
    avatar
What does Doug liking it have to do with anything? His opinions don't matter any more than any other random person. His tastes are hardly what one would call "elite", anyway, so using him as backup doesn't work.
  • AStrangeBeing
    avatar
He certainly has a good taste in films. Better than mine.
  • ratcatcher
    avatar
We'll have to agree to disagree. No one really has "good" or "bad" tastes in films, but Doug's taste in film is pretty much in line with most people who watch a lot of films. You find no surprises with him. Not saying it's necessarily a bad thing, but it doesn't make him special. Plus he loves Oscar-bait stuff like Sideways.

Basing something on one person's opinion, no matter how "elite", is sad enough, but basing it on someone who isn't even an actual critic is even worse.
  • kingrat2314
You may need to reacquaint yourself with soap operas, because Breaking Bad is nothing like one. And more plot-driven than character-driven? Have you ever actually seen an episode of Breaking Bad? The show doesn't make itself out to be ultrarealistic. Most everything in the show is believable. Your "opinion" of Breaking Bad and your relegation of it's female characters as "worthy of Nolan" just screams troll, even if you say it's just your opinion. Buzz off.
  • WesleyFoxx
    avatar
I pay him by watching the ads, in this case, all 9 of them (1 before, 2 at each of the four breaks) even if its not out of my own pocket.

Even if it was entirely free, I'm still entitled to criticize. I'm just not entitled to make demands.
  • DaReaperZ  - I know I'm late but...
I don't think that the ads are that bad, really. They take a few seconds only anyway. It costs me nothing more than those seconds, I can live with that.

Also I'd have to say that I don't understand why you don't think this is funny. Though I guess that's just your taste or opinion. But I at least think many of the jokes they made were actually quite funny, and some of the things they said that are true were funny. Oh well.

I must say, it's interesting how there are people who say they're going to stop watching Phelous just cause Lupa is in some of his videos. That's one thing I really can't understand, even if she's not funny to someone.
  • MatthewShrugged  - Umm.
So where there a birdemic somewhere in this. Did I miss it?
  • AstaKask
So... Birdemic sex - more or less awkward than the Room sex?

You've gotta love a sequel that's half taking the piss out of the first movie, and half completely serious.

It's pretty bad when you really can't tell if the footage comes from the movie or not (I honestly thought that the giant jumbo jellyfish scene was mocked up by Phealous as a joke about how the character disappeared).
  • lobsterzoidberg
    avatar
    Awesome.

Interesting to note that I've seen better effects in videos made by Phelous than what Birdemic 2 gives us.

And, on a side note, when I first saw that this video was posted, I thought it might be a joke video because I had no idea they'd actually made a Birddemic 2. I thought they were still trying to get it together.
  • merchantfan

Wait, did nothing actually happen in the plot of the movie?
  • LikaLaruku

Well, ether it's a two-part review & they didn't mention that, or this movie went nowhere real slow.
  • Spike_prime

When I first saw the "Giant Jumbo Jellyfish", well... my first reaction was immediately
"Umm... did... did you guys add that?"
Then I saw the rest of the dialogue of the film. Then it was more "Oh god. Oh by the name of all that's holy... that is dumb." Then I laughed so hard I cried.

By the way, these crossovers are getting better and better, I loved the one on The Time Machine (I found at a Yard Sale), that was hilarious and perfect. This carries on the tone brilliantly and you two have seriously reached your apex of great chemistry.

I would like to see you guys try slightly different formatting for the next one, maybe a film that's faster paced to make different kinds of jokes--not that I didn't like the way this played out, it was great, but I always enjoy seeing where you take it next time.

Great review, I look forward to whatever comes next :D

I feel ripped off. I didn't see 1 horribly animated bird in the movie, just a "Giant Jumbo Jellyfish". That's it, next time I'm going to go see a better movie, like Giant Jumbo Jellyfishdemic 2.

Phelous, Brad - I'm happy for you, guys. Haven't seen as hot, steamy passion in a while... =D

That was Brad in the title card? I honestly thought that was Benzaie.
  • fanime1  - XD Ho Ho Ho Brilliant!
    avatar
OMG! Can't wait for part 2! The ending was hilarious! I swear Lupa looked jealous when you and Brad were dancing and...doing business. XD Great acting Lupa! So from what I get from this, Bridemic 2 has the same slow pacing as Birdemic 1, since we have yet to see an actual birdemic. And now I want to listen on those commentaries. XD I'll try to find them. Seriously, though, this was brilliant and made my week! Great job everyone!

With all the explosions "and special effects" in your review, it looks like a Michael Bay movie, lol
Now on a more serious note, I really like your team collaboration, all three of you were great.
  • BB Shockwave
    avatar
Huh, so THAT's how you spell Ngyuen? I always spelled it "N-guy-N". :)

Otherwise... wow, it takes time and effort to make such a boring and terrible movie. Did they even have a script, or just told a vague outline of it to the so-called actors?

What did this movie have to do with Birdemic again?

So his dream girl is Xavier the Renegade Angel?

I guess Phaelous and The Cinema Snob still believe that the Nostalgia Critic perished during To Boldly Flee
But wait a minute, wasn't that all just a hallucination by Phaelous while he was at the brink of death due to the heart-attack he suffered way back during the review of Mac and Ma?

And yay for the Phaelous/Snob slash (with Lupa watching)
  • TheLemsterPju

    Oh God, Xavier Renegade Angel.

And to think I was the only one who knew about that show.
  • SpeedyEric  - James Nguyen: The Hitchcock of bad movies.

FINALLY, you guys are reviewing the sequel to Birdemic that NO ONE asked for.

3:09- Either way, this film still has a 2.4 out of 10 star rating on IMDB.

4:48- Well, I'll give the movie this: we don't hear this guy's out of sync footsteps, but this walking is dragging on like a Family Guy joke.

God bles Whitney Moore for not giving a shit about this movie, and is only doing it for the paycheck.

I wouldn't be surprised if the beer they were drinking was acutally apple juice.

24:20- This greenscreen shot reminds me of those in "The Amazing Bulk."

I guess that the Giant Jumbo Jellyfish looks "better from a distance."

When the CGI ambulance showed up, I think that was the 5th "Oh, come on!" I said about this film.

Nice job on Brad's cameos. I actually blame the seaweed for the sister's death. (...Good.)

    Good luck on Part 2.
  • Pepita87
Funniest review I've seen in a while. Was laughing out loud for various times. Keep up the good work!
  • Amesang

I'm not sure who's cartoon form looked sexier: Lupa or Snob.

    (Sorry, Phelous.)
  • CyborgPrince

Your usage of non-sequiturs and random references kept me most amused. For a while I thought the Brad appearance was going to be a play on the Tippi Hedren thing where he either appeared in some video, or just his name would be there. However, you surprised me. I realised that he's smaller than Allison. I enjoyed the dancing and 'romance'.

I know you're a Hitchcock fan, James Nguyen. I am too. You don't have to shake it in our faces. In fact, you're making me kind of embarrassed to be one. I also find it interesting that as a Hitchcock fan, he keeps making links to the one actress who accused Hitchcock of being rather possessive of her, causing ire from others who had previously worked with him. I know it's because she was in the Birds, but did Nguyen's film have to be about birds in the first place?

That jellyfish. Wow. What did Nguyen pay the animators with? Coupons for McDonald's? It's hard to believe he considers himself a serious and good filmmaker. Even Tommy Wiseau is aware that The Room's appeal is because if its awfulness and absurdity.

I noticed a distinct lack of birds. I can only assume this is just the first half of the movie.
  • smek2  - That song!!!
    avatar
"All for glory" "nothings gonna stop me now"

This 80's sounding song in the video, what is it?! I must know!!!

    I googled and found nothing?
  • Johro
    avatar
This is hard. I assume it's actually part of the film(since Phelan credits everything else) and the only female performer listed in the music credits of the movie is Loren Semmens. The problem there is that there's only one song in the credits with a lyrics credit and it's the movie theme. I also could find nothing online for a Loren Semmens(musically) except that someone by that name is part of a project called Maker Breaker.

That's the best I could do.
  • nomad1112  - giant jumbo jellyfish

I think you guys were missing something important about the giant jumbo jellyfish scene. Natalie left right before it showed up...then returned after it was gone...do I need to connect the dots?...Natalie IS global warming all along!!!!!

oh my god 22:00-23:00 I literally couldn't stop laughing, tears in the eyes; haven't experienced that with an internet video in a long time, kudos to you wonderful people.
