0:14- It’s true. I was hoping for a “coming of the closet” joke since the Stephen King Boogeyman review.

3:55- Damnit, Eli Roth. Get out of this movie. It’s stupid enough as it is.

4:12 to 4:15- Is that Phelous in the fuzzy background? …No, false alarm.
    6:37- Not-Phelous, NOOOOOOO!!!!!

8:25- I did a quick check on Wikipedia to see if it was true, and it is. Also, they used a mugshot from 2000 for his picture. I also happen to learn that he’s making a Jeepers Creepers 3 for a 2013 release.

10:08- That’s what happened to me on my way home after having supper at Taco Bell.

Why do some horror films have many stupid characters and only one or no smart characters? It’s reasons like this that show why I don’t see many horror films unless I find them interesting.

I love the part where you switch from Tim Burton Batman music to 1960s Batman music. Smart move.

16:04- Oh, Ash is so cute. =)

A third one? Why? This movie and the last are forgettable.

I'm with you on why I don't see any horror films as of late. Stupid teenagers that are annoying go to a location where a monster/lunatic/animal kills them off one by one. Copy and paste it for next month's new horror film(Seriously, we get the same movie once a month).

    A 3rd and a tv series!

I'd like to see Phelous review the guy that made this other famious film Powder!

A TV Show?! The plot is paper thin, I have a hard time seeing this lasting more than five minutes.
  • BooRat
    avatar
Yeah that's what the wiki page said that he's trying for a TV series about different times the Creeper was awake. I dought the series gets picked up but the 3rd movie is in early stages!
  • SkullCap  - No joke
    avatar
The director is working on a 3rd one with a script already finished.

The plot will center around Justin Long's sister from the first movie joining forces with Farmer Harpoon and Son to hunt down and finish the Creeper once and for all.

Meaning: at the end of the 2nd film the farmer, with harpoon ready, didn't make due on his promise of stopping the Creeper. (You'd think he'd incinerate it or chop it up, but that would make sense. Boy, how does one think she'll feel once the farmer tells her they've had the Creeper's body lying around without trying to y'know DESTROY IT?).

Not only that, but the movie "sets up a TV series that features Poho County and The Creeper." -Wikipedia

Now a part of me wants to see that. Why? Crossover POTENTIAL.

Detective: "Lt. Caine, we just got the reports from the police department in Poho! It matches our victim. He's here in the city."

Lt. Horatio Caine: "Well it looks like Poho...

    *SUNGLASSES*

Lt. Horatio Caine: "...gave us the Creeps."

    YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!! !

I'd totally watch that just in hopes the Creeper eats him I hate CSI Miami!

I wonder if the TV show will be as crappy and forgettable as the Friday the 13th TV series (which doesn't have Jason Flappin' Voorhees).

Soooo....... does the "coming out of the closet" joke mean that Phelous is gay? Not that it's a big deal, it was an odd joke.

EDIT: Also, the guy wearing the glasses talking to the cop kinda looks like Film Brain.

And don't forget the overuse of blood and gore. Seriously, so many horror movies these days only seem to want shock value and go for that by throwing around as much fake blood as the budget allows. They don't focus on real horror, ya know?
  • forsaken7089
    avatar
Shitty movies. Business as usual. But this one was so much worse than the original... so if you though the original was bad... oh man...
  • Taufiq91  - Wow,
    avatar
that has to be the gayest horror film ever made.

I mean, 90% of the male characters are topless for crying out loud.

And none of the chicks were even naked.

And it's directed by a pedophile.

SO yeah, the amount of homosexual undertones are huge in this.

And it seems that the JC monster enjoys devouring good-looking men. I didn't see any of the girls killed.

And i watch Torchwood for crying out loud! They manage to outgay that!
  • link77
    avatar
Damnit, you beat me to posting almost exactly what you said.
  • honestiago
    avatar
Um... "gayest horror film ever made?" I doubt it.
    1) I'm pretty sure that the most homoerotic horror movie ever made would be one with, I don't know, gay people in it. There's a blog on the Fangoria website entitled "Tales From the Pink Lagoon" that's devoted entirely to gay horror stories, so they're probably pretty common.
    2) Lack of female nudity doesn't make something gay. I suppose "Inception" was pretty gay then, as was the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, as was the first "Matrix" movie. That had Keanu Reeves-- a man-- naked in it, and there were no naked women! ZOMG, totally gay!
3)I think the urinating bus scene was more a parody of gay fear among football players than the filmmaker's sexual fantasy.

Oh yeah, and because it's directed by a pedophile, it must be gay. Because everyone knows that only boys and never girls are the targets of pedophiles. Besides, all gay men are pedophiles. Seriously, dude? WTF. Try not to be so homophobic.
  • Rockabore
    avatar
Well said. I was going to point that out too. The comment came off as pretty homophobic. "No, not shirtless guys! That is so gay! This is the gayest horror film ever made!!!" Yeah there were gay undertones, but it didn't seem noteworthy other than the creature perving on the guys. The shirtless thing doesn't actually strike me as "gay", maybe just as eye-candy for anyone who'd want to see that, I'm sure women too. Plus there are plenty of horror movies where the chicks stay clothed yet I don't hear it getting branded as "straight" or "gay" for having women who actually wear clothes.

I'm not defending this shitty movie but, if you're going to act like it's the only movie to ever do that kind of idea where the monster represents repressed homosexuality or something at least be smart enough to know that Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge did it better than this piece of shit. And yeah, while it was definitely not the best in the series (and not the best as far as actual nightmare deaths), it was a good movie and did alright with the gay subtext... at least for the time it came out, Jesse's effeminacy was rather needlessly transparent. But the movie had actual scary scenes.
  • dennett316
    avatar
The gay "subtext" in Elm Street 2 was a bit too blatant to be called subtext anymore - as even the script writer admitted in the excellent Never Sleep Again documentary.
  • Taufiq91
    avatar
Dude i'm not saying homophobic stuff, i'm just saying that the homosexual tendencies are so obvious and not subtle that it deserves to be mocked for it.

And Victor Salva raped a 12 year old boy, so i think the point still stands that he's a gay pedophile.

However, if what i'm really saying is really homophobic, then i'm sorry because i'm a huge supporter of LGBT rights but sometimes i do say political incorrect stuff too.
  • Rockabore
    avatar
It was mostly the generalizations you made that came off as a little homophobic. You probably didn't mean for it to sound that way but it did like, as honestiago said, you thought that because Salva was a pedophile that he was gay, when neither of those are exclusive to the other. If you'd said it a little better it wouldn't have looked bad at all.

Other than that, it's cool. I see where you're coming from on what you said, this movie does have it's reputation with it's monster (and director) lusting over younger guys. It's mainly that the points you made on this movie being gay could be applied to a lot of other movies without no subtext. Having shirtless guys and having girl who aren't naked or murdered doesn't make a horror movie gay.
  • Yeahwhatever
You equivlated homosexuality with pedophilia as a generality.

Pedophilia has NO bearing on preference. Even so, at what point did Phelous ever himself mention what the directors preference was? Other than the assumption you made based on the content of the movie. Can you "just tell?" Are you that good at determining?

Fact is, There is no such thing as a "gay or straight" pedophile. It's only about wanting to hurt people. Has nothing to do with a preference. Some pedophiles that sexually abuse young males aren't gay in the least. One case in my hometown a few years back, was even self-admitted that the sicko abuser was abused himself as a child and only wanted other children to feel the hurt he felt.

So what about cases like those? Do you even consider it? No, with you, everything is gay, first.

    Especially TV shows.

Because you then present a TV show like Torchwood as something on a scale that can be "outgayed"

Seriously? I'm expected to take your self-defense seriously after that Torchwood line? Get out of here.

You are a clearly a homophobe and a stupid backpedaling asshole that already stuck your foot in your mouth with a thoughtlessly troll stupid comment that you can't take back. Nothing you say can ever make that any less true, now.

And then after that clearly bigoted diatribe, you "claim" to "support LGBT rights?" after that spiel about outgaying a television show?

That's a superbly lazy and shoddy attempt to try and make yourself look like the bigger person after you already said the incredibly stupid thing you said.

Fact is, you seriously need to get your fucking ass kicked. End of story.
  • Ahiru
    avatar
SO true, that's what's bothering me about those movies...
It already started in the first movie where the Creeper sniffed Darry's underwear. WAT!?

Then a very pretty young women is like:"Take anything you want from me!" And the creeper is like:"No, thanks."

And then he's after athletic highschool boys in the second movie... Come on...
  • Yeahwhatever
Yeah, uh. Try to sound a little less like a fucking ignorant, snarky, assholish bigot with an IQ of 17, ok?

The fact that you even try to equivilate homosexuality with pedophilia makes me seriously want to personally kick your stupid fucking teeth in with a hammer.

    Grow the fuck up.
  • Ahiru
    avatar
Who are you even talking to?
  • forsaken7089
    avatar
This is true. Mr Creeper loves the boytoys. In the first movie he hunted the boy, never touched the girl, and on this one he has a buf fa on them. In fact the only time he's ever killed a woman that I can remember was the old woman in the first movie... and I guess he just found her to be annoying or something. If he never came across her it while hunting his latest man meat it never would have happened.
  • Ahiru
    avatar
Well he did kill the female bus driver and he stitched the couple in the first film together really nicely, so I can live with the fact that he prefers to eat guys... I ignore the homosexual undertones and just justify his preferences by him being male and wanting to look male. Maybe if he ate too much girls he'd become to femmy :P
  • Marshmallowcreampie
    avatar
Oh, no! Heaven forbid a movie have shirtless guys! Surely it must be directed be for homoerotic undertones, which is so terrible because gays are the scum of the Earth! since And Heaven also forbid that horror movies don't have a girl strip down at some point! You just can't have a good horror movie without a nudity/lingerie scene for the hot chick right before she dies! T_T

Srsly, dude, your homophobia and sexism are showing.

Will the nightmare of the Boogyman/Creepyweepyman/ Crazy Steve ever end? Also thanks to the title cards from both of these Jeepers Creepers reviews for reminding me of Dionysus Park every time I hear the music. One more thing Phelous, are you aware of the other "Death Row" movies? If so sorry, if not then go get um big guy! Or not whatever, good reviews. Although I didn't get to see Pyramid Head show up at the end of one of these reviews. Oh well :)

What's with this obsession with getting Phelous to give the entire filmography of everyone who appears in the movies he reviews? I know I couldn't care less what other movies or shows the actors have been in and I'm fairly sure he feels the same way.

Also, gay reference to piss off the easily offended political correctness Nazis! HAHAHAHAHA!!! Man, I love trolling.

Is Eli Roth somehow related to the writer or director of this movie? unlikable Shirtless jackasses pissing together trying to find out who's "gay." The kind of qualities that have Roth written all over them.

Also, is it me, or is the Creeper a ripoff of Freddy Krueger in this movie? Though it doesn't make since, being that no one dies in the dream sequences.

I hate to nitpick but they were driving on a flat after the 1st ninja star hit. The read alez of buses are doubled rimmed onlt the outside tire was flat. They could ride on it but would as they said would have to drive slower than usaul because the bus would be off balinced! Granted after that 2nd wheel was flat they could've drove it still on the rim to get the hell out of there like that should have!

I do like this review though it was wicked!
  • link77  - Wooooooo, more kitties!!!!

Yea, the most annoying bit of the film was Pyschic Chick. Why oh WHY did they have her there? Also, I couldn't help but notice that half of the male cast had their shirts off. Was this film trying to please the female crowd? Or were the half naked dudes there to satisfy the director? Come on, at least give us guys something nice to oggle at.
Great review Phelous. Can we expect more cats in the next review?

If you think about it, the creeper seems like the kind of horror monster that a twelve year old boy would invent, a mutant with super strength and bat wings that chases and eats people. So obviously in the sequel they had to give him mystical ninja throwing stars.

fuck this movie and the first one especially after adding the poor as me i am white boy i can't get anything wah wah character!
andi f this was 4 days later wouldn't it have made more sense to have the girl that survived the first movie to fill in the holes instead of justin long who is dead and really pointless like cleo was in the first movie god these movies suck why add the spiritaul stuff if it is pointless and really not needed isn'tt the rikuo from darkstalkers isn't scary he is basically an aristocrat and whiney-that is was the monster looks like to me-

and the added bonus that the writer was pedo makes it so much more ugh you would think the movie would be more darker than this shit and why did he do the hannibal lector noise

... I actually loved both Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2. In fact, I got a bit ticked by these reviews. Also, in the first dream where whatsherface saw the guy and dead kid pointing, they were telling them to turn around. How did you not see that? And these movies did have a plot. There's an ancient monster and once every 23 years he wakes up and feeds, what more do you want? Actually, there's a lot of films you bashed that I loved. I admit the film isn't fantastic, but's it's entertaining. That kind of annoys me with a lot of you guys here, most of the time you're only talking about the bad things in movies and avoiding anything good like it's the plaque. I mean sometimes you say good things, but that's pretty rare by what I've seen so far.
  • dennett316
    avatar
His points for both films were perfectly valid though, and I say that as someone who liked the original but loathed the sequel. Stop being so sensitive and learn that what you like isn't what everyone else likes too.
And yes, he's a critic who's job it is to make fun of bad movies for comedic effect, of course he'll only talk about the negatives. The video would be too long and have no flow if he had to stop every few seconds to mention a good shot or nice effects for every scene.
Just realise that these films have flaws, and develop a thicker skin.
  • Ahiru
    avatar
The movies are kind of a guilty pleasure to me, so yeah, I like them too.
That doesn't mean I can't laugh at these reviews... They're just not very good and have lots of flaws. Doesn't mean they can't be entertaining to some of us.
  • Bloodrealm  - The dream
They did tell them to turn around, sure, but it didn't do anything for the plot, character development, or anything. You could cut the scene out, and have them NOT quote the first movie, and it would be exactly the same. They didn't learn anything from it, except irrelevant things like the creeper being active for 23 days every 23 years.
  • EarthboundXE
    avatar
I thought the ending was pretty stupid too.

Why didn't he burn or chop up the body?

Plus wouldn't the government have taken the body away at some point? They had to have known about it, since he set up a little sideshow for it, and came and checked it out while investigating all those bodies in the burned barn.

Then again, humans were so stupid in this movie, they didn't notice that the monster had been killing people for thousands of years.

looked it up, theres gonna be a third.
    Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral

the plot is (as taken from Wiki)

Cathedral is set 23 years after the events in the first film. Trish Jenner is the mother of a teenage son named Darry, named after the brother she lost 23 years ago. Trish has a recurring nightmare where her son suffers the same fate as her brother did, killed by the Creeper. Determined to prevent this from happening, Trish, who is now a rich and powerful woman, sets out on a final quest with Jack Taggart Sr. and Jr. to end the Creeper's reign of terror once and for all.

so yeah, the dumbass from the first movie sets out with the father and son who actually BEAT the creature, to kill it once and for all.

Phelous, your powers of observation and deductive reasoning are underwhelming in this review. Usually you're a little sharper than this.

-The long closeup of the father was intended to show his anguish at having lost his son. Perhaps the shot did last too long but it does serve a principle purpose considering his vendetta against the Creeper later.

-Why are you complaining about new additions to the Creeper's arsenal? He had a collapsible axe in the first film, it stands to reason he would possess other homemade weapons in this one, with which to disable the bus tires.

-They didn't fix the tire. They were driving on the flat. So they were, in fact, doing exactly what you criticize them for not doing later after getting a second flat. You do still have a point about why the kids don't drive the bus on two flats afterward, but the back tire is clearly flat in the shots of the bus driving after the first blowout.

This review just wasn't really doing it for me. I'm sorry if I seem like a complainer but I honestly shut it off halfway in.

The one thing I do agree with you made no sense was why the Creeper's knife flew out of the father's hand and hit the lamp. Even on the director's commentary, exactly what they were going for with this bit wasn't explained.

Phelous' "coming out of the closet joke" reminded me of all the flak this movie for for its homoerotic stuff. I hate this double standard. It's okay to show tits and naked women and just overly sexualize women in general for the straight male audience members, but reviews wag their finger at anything even resembling homoerotic overtones. So why can't the ladies and gay guys have something to look at? Are the guys who bash the objectifying of men in horror movies that insecure about their own sexuality?

I'm not accusing Phelous of this, mind you. As I said, his joke just reminded me how much everyone complained about the male characters sunbathing shirtless and peeing in a group. Considering what the director is like, this most likely was definitely intended as homoerotic, but to this I say... so what? It may be unneeded and gratuitous and not something that teenage athletes would actually do, and detract from the movie, so it's fine to complain about it from that perspective (as Phelous rightly does), but in and of itself the homoerotic stuff isn't bad. People won't catch "the gay" from seeing a few twentysomethings pretending to be teens pissing in a line. Sheesh.

I won't even go into the director's own indiscretions and what I think of them. That's definitely flame war bait right there.
