You know what's starting to be annoying? More so than hating on Matt Smith because of David Tennant's final line? Hating on David Tennant because of his final line! Yeesh.
"I don't want to go." It has become this strange thing where it is the example of everything wrong and used as an all-purpose club to bash people on either side of this argument.

I laughed insanely hard at this. Don't get me wrong I love David Tennant as the Doctor. I don't hate on him for that line, I just wish it was written differently.
In terms of the video, I laughed really hard, mainly because I say that to my girlfriend who's favorite doctor is DT while mine is Matt Smith and I say that to her all the time.

I mean, one line. One. Admittedly an important one, but come on. It's been two years. There's a new showrunner in place, a new Doctor, a new companion and you're still fixated on the one friggin' line?
This has gone from observant critique to amusing in-joke to nerdy whining to "let's put this crap out of its misery".
Oh, and for the record, since this is one of those "if you're not with me you're against me" nerd-wars, David Tennant was the best doctor of the current set, the "specials" seasons sucked ass, so did Matt Smith's first season, the first half of this season is probably the best written of the set, every member of the cast was very cool in it and RTD was neither responsible for all the shit you say you hate (but you really don't) nor as bad a writer as you say.
I know that doesn't conform to the nerdy sides of the debate, but that's because it's a very stupid debate.
I know that doesn't conform

Months of story lead up to that one line. The tenth doctor was suppose to be taking this grand quest to find Peace. Instead at the end That line was used which contradicted every action up to that point.
It is also seen by many as a direct attempt to sabotage the 11th doctor by the outgoing production team.
Because of this it will never be over. The 10th doctor was one of the best in the history of Doctor Who till that point, and it taints ever other action by said 10th doctor.

07.30.2011 - 09:11 | DangerousLokiActually, the line makes perfect sense. It's not the best line but it does work with the build up perfectly. Everything he had done up to that point, after the end of his season, was running away and trying to hide from his own inevitable death. It finally came to a head in Water of Mars when we see him break the laws he lives by because he's that scared of his own death.
The line was meant to convey in it's brief utterance the quiet acceptance of his own ending and his own desire to remain who he was. There were better lines that could have done it, but this by far wasn't the worst.
For the record, I don't hate Matt Smith for any other reason than he's just not that good as the doctor. He's only become somewhat decent as the doctor in the latest season.

I took speech last semester. Lol. You're right man he hates that regeneration.
I think the best one was the change from Troughton to Pertwee. Even though Pertwee is a mediocre doctor. For those not familiar with that regen, the timelords force the doctor (Troughton) to regenerate and at first they give him the option to pick his new visage, but he doesn't link any of the new bodies so they pick for him (Pertwee). It was cool the way they did it because it was as if his objections were meant to be the same as the complaints they would receive from the fans. His complaints were to paraphrase, "Not him he's to old," and, "well he's too fat isn't he." In that way they took the wind out of the sails of any fans that would start out hatting the "new" doctor simply because he's new.
The worst regeneration was the doctor that wouldn't do the regeneration episode at all. I think it was Colin Baker, I could be wrong though it's been a while.

06.28.2011 - 08:54 | Moreno XThat was great Phelous. I don't watch Doctor Who at all (despite that I watch videos of you and other reviewers on episodes of DW) and seeing this video really had me laughing. I guess you were getting to the point of telling those who are still wrap up on that "I don't wanna go" line and needs to move on or accept Matt Smith's role as the Doctor.
Thanks Phelous, I need it that. (Don't tell SadPanda I give you my compliment, okay?).

"You know what's starting to be annoying? More so than hating on Matt Smith because of David Tennant's final line? Hating on David Tennant because of his final line! Yeesh."
I don't think anyone hates Tennant for that line. I think everyone hates the writer of the episode for it.
I've heard Tennant insisted that they dial the emotion back on that one. It was supposed to be weepier.

07.11.2011 - 07:20 | rjw22For some reason it really feels like it was davies trying to say somthing through Tennant.
It felt like he didn't wanna stop writing for the show which you can't blame him for but, I would not make my actors say it for me.

06.28.2011 - 13:27 | RebochanHOLY SHIT! Really, guys? This is the new "half-human", except where "half-human" caused a billion continuity problems, this one just wedged up a few people's panties. Yet you'd never know that from the fireballs of rage that insist on stirring up this one line.
God I hate the Who fandom.

"Not to sound stupid, but...I don't get it."
When David Tennant's 10th doctor regenerated at the end of "The End of Time," his last line was "I don't wanna go."
This has been panned by fans as being a mischaracterization and a poor way of introducing the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith.
When Christopher Eccleston's 9th Doctor was regenerating, his line was thus:
"Rose, I wanted to tell you... you were fantastic! ... And you know what? So was I!"
It was much more lighthearted. Tennant's regeneration scene came off sounding, unfortunately, morose and whiny.

PHELOUS: I don't want to go... without refrencing the regeneration in every doctor who video I make.
Thought so.
