Horney looks less of a drive thru mascot, and more of a DC super villain.

9:33- I wonder if the film is telling us that Bush Jr. is the killer.
11:52- O_O Wow. …I never expect the movie to respond to my little joke that I partly made up.

17:32- I was also thinking Freddy Krugger, because it’s very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very obvious as hell.

Like “Skyline,” “Drive Thru” is one of those films that make you shout “BULL $H!T!” at the screen.

19:32- Nice recommendation, Phelous. I’ll do just that, except my home town hasn’t had a McDonalds in years.

The Birdemic thing near the beginning was just awesome :D Very well edited -- much better than Birdemic itself.

This movie is possibly one of the biggest instances in which I was ABSOLUTELY ROOTING FOR THE BAD GUY. Seriously, who in the fuck actually wanted any of those opening people to live? Even their parents were probably just a little happy.

To me, the villain looks more like a parody the "Scary Movie" franchise would come up with. What a lame concept.
  • forsaken7089
    avatar
Ya except that Scary Movie 1+2 were actually funny and entertaining. This bland bore fest is neither.
  • ulmuchiha  - I disagree.
    avatar
scary movie 1+3> scary movie 2+4
    in my opinion of course.

Wow I never thought for once in my life on God's green Earth, I have ever run into a horror movie about a .......Drive Thru Resturant. So I take it this was suppose to be the "Mac and Me" of scary movies ripping off IT to promote McDonalds or something because it sure looks like it!

Oh god this is our red flag people, that originality in Horror Movies is utterly dead. On a entirely didn't subject, Phelous makes for a delicious sandwich on his title!card *noms him*

The clown suit was pretty cool... that's about it. The rest is just another boring rip off horror movie.

Why the change of scenery Phelous? What happened to the chair and all the stuff you had in the background?
  • Phelous

It's being like this sense season 6 man!
    Or CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE!

I will do you better than that Phelous I am going to get some Wendys and watch Nightmare on Elm Street.

    I don't like McDonalds sandwiches :(

So, would you call "Gossip Girl" a step up from this movie for Leighton Meester or vice versa?

Also, Jan...oh, you have got to get yourself a better agent. You are so much better then things like this and The Hannah Montana Movie.
  • Taufiq91
    avatar
pretty much a step up, sadly.

She had a better role in a Veronica Mars cameo though.
  • Taufiq91  - I remember watching this POS
    avatar
I love Leighton Meester (The main actress in this film). She's one of the reasons why i enjoy Gossip Girl.

And then, there was this movie. This movie has Leighton and Jan from The Office in it, and i was like "sure, why not?".

So i watched it, and it was the biggest piece of shit i've seen on TV.

Seriously, it combines Scream with Jersey Shore and bits and pieces of Hostel. It's the worst Cinemax horror film ever made.

I can't believe this crap got greenlighted. "Hey, why not make a slasher flick based on a Drive Through Fast food Joint?"

    Seriously, Fuck this Movie.

    Nice Review.

PS: The fat policeman looked familiar. Anyone recognize him from somewhere?

The fat cop plays the brother on According to Jim.
  • SpotTheShingo  - Needles Kane would like a word...
...with this "Horny the Clown", that is! Or rather to launch a POWER missile where the sun don't shine!

What? Like I'm the only one who didn't make a Twisted Metal connection?
  • Mr.Evil

Actually, my thoughts went there too. That scares me.
  • goninjago  - thank you

You want a scary movie revolving around fast food? Try "Supersize Me."

    Thoughts:

    - Clearly this wasn't meant to be a serious movie. But then it fails to be funny. Do movie studios think that if something isn't done seriously then it's automatically amusing? This is not true - the word must be spread.

    - Ouija boards, also known as magic plot point boards, should come with stronger warning labels.

    - Well, we've had killer mascots, killer Nazi zombies, killer birds, killer Santa Claus, killer electric currents, killer Internets, killer killers, acting-career-killing killers, Fourth-Wall killers, and people with their mouths surgically attached to other people's rectums.

Don't you think it's time for some insects?

    Good review.
  • RocMegamanX  - Yeah, about those insects...
    They already have killer insects...

At least I think they do.

    Does "Slither" count?
  • Mr.Evil
    avatar
I meant for Phelous to review a movie about killer insects. It's my reoccuring crusade. One day, there will be a review about killer insects.

And no, Slither doesn't count. That was a GOOD movie.

Some people should not be aloud to write movies.
  • Yeahwhatever
And seeing how you butchered the word "allowed", some people shouldn't write comments, either.
  • Zydrate

Whole lot of meta humor in this review. What was with that photo of Viggo?
  • Phelous
    avatar
He needs some love too. Or positively charged slime at least.
  • TheBlackMage
    avatar
I'm guessing this isn't the same as Weird Al's "Trapped in the Drive Thru"?
  • Kenric
I think the movie looks horrible...but I kind of like the villain. Also, SHINING REFERENCE! WOO!
  • TheBlackMage
    avatar
Why? Because he looks like Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal? If you want Clown villains, watch Killer Klowns from outer space. Or hell, even better... The Dark Knight.
  • Kenric
Nope, not sure why either, I just do. Also, I have seen Killer Klowns from Outer Space, I liked them, I like The Joker as well.
  • The_Awesometeer

Jan from the Office is in this? So is the girl from Country Strong? And that guy from Fired Up? Wow.
  • ProfessM  - Wait one of the cops

I think she played a main character in season one of Criminal Minds.
  • TryMe  - Eee-yup
    Yep, she sure did.
  • VoiceAgainstPropaganda
    avatar
I'm surprised to find no Twisted Metal reference in this review. It would've been perfect.
  • Nick4x
Gotta disagree with you on this one, Phelous. If you watch this movie alone, yeah, it'll be the worst thing ever, but if you have a friend watching it with you, it becomes highly entertaining just because of how bad it is.

Yes, it sucks and it's not funny, but the kills are fun and making fun of bad horror movies is a great way to pass time.

    Good review, though.
  • JayDeth

    I still can't believe you didn't like Santa's Slay. :(

Another movie with stupid high school bitches and tools? How... erm... delightful...

At least most of them die, I'll give the movie that (getting rid of the most annoying characters). I REALLY wish the main girl had been killed off though. What an annoying bitch.

Stupid teenagers aside, is it strange that I actually LIKED the clown mask? As far as scary clowns go I thought it was decently "scary" rather than a "creepy".
  • Gssage7
Not really, I was scared too.
    Then he started talking.
  • Strawberry Husky  - I was wondering about this movie....
    avatar
Saves me the trouble to watch it now ^^ Kind of disappointed though, you totally missed out a joke opportunity to have Marky Mark say "What? No..." from 'The Happening' when the de-masked clown asked "You eyeballin' me boy?". SO thought you would have put that in X3
  • Mr. F

It's funny, the guy that plays fisher was actually Jan's assistant in a few episodes of the office. He sang that stupid song in the dinner party episode. "That one night, you made everything all right."
  • Phelous
    avatar
Haha I wish I'd caught that! Ah well.
  • Azarias Kale
    avatar
It's like they wanted to try and make a B-Movie that was so ridiculous but they took it too far. Sort of like one of those friends that you make the gay jokes with then he winds up wanting to experiment with you on a camping trip or something...

Oddly I picked this movie up a couple weeks ago, you get it in a random four-pack too, Phelous?
  • Phelous
    avatar
Yeah Linkara actually gave me that 4 pack as revenge for that theme song I sang for him a million years ago.
  • Azarias Kale
    avatar
Any four of those movies are revenge films, and I do mean you give them to people out of spite. Doesn't beat the Kraken: Terror of the Deep or something like that, it came with Howling IV so you know it's going to be one of the most tasteful films on the planet.
  • VengefulRonin

Pity this is so dull, I always wanted to watch this but never got around to it. I hoped it would be some corny B-flick schlock but I guess I hoped for too much.

I totally saw that movie last year. Was wondering if it was going to be reviewed.

    Great review.
  • theginga
Okay, cutting the drive-thru scene against Birdemic? Had me rolling on the floor. Laughed harder at that than the notion of a character named Horny the Clown. Thank you for being awesome Phelous!
  • karomonster
    avatar
Also, Leighton Meester did this other horror movie "Roommate", which also was really annoying. I'm detecting a pattern there.
  • Sirius
    avatar
    Still the best Phelous. :)

But you seemed more excited than usual. One thing I always liked about you is your perfunctory style. Your casual exasperation about the crap you're watching.

    Keep it up! :D
  • darkpatriot85
I think I got the real inspiration for this. The writers got some weed, ate some McDonalds, watched A Nightmare On Elm Street and then played some Twisted Metal and said "Fuck that Sweet Tooth guy is scary, let's make a movie about it".
  • Cheshire Kitten
    avatar
Everyone else appears to have said it, but the bit with the drive-through and Birdemic was hilarious. Nice review.
  • Devochka
    avatar
Phelous, you just made my week with the Birdemic bit. Absolutely hilarious!
  • atztex  - clipping
    avatar
hey phelous - first of all: nice review. you were kinda raging this time which was a bit distracting but i guess its your new style.
but i noticed your off-voice clipped a lot. im not sure how often this happened before but you could either record the voice overs in the same way you film your "on-screen"-footage which would match the two sounds or if you are using a second microphone lower the gain (digital) or the imput volume by expanding the range to the mic or by pulling down the volume bar (if you'r recording with a mixer).
hope that didnt sound too pretentious - im still struggling a bit with written english. everything else was quite good (as always ;)) keep up the good work!
  • Phelous
    avatar
    I was raging!? Really!?
Yeah the clipping issue should be fixed now, sorry I'd just missed it before.
  • atztex  - raging? o rly?
    avatar
yes i think that was a bad choice of words - sirius got it better saying: "you seemed more excited than usual". and well - for me you seemed quite more excited ^^
  • Tabby5
I watched this movie once, didn't leave much of an impact
