Well the first 2 are on the site here in my videos. It's me playing around with changing the characters that appear in certain scenes and the resident evil audio to make it even sillier than it was before. This time I was also put in some different audio from the same voice actors of Chris and Barry.

I don't get these short clips. They probably mean something to someone who knows the game, but if you don't know who these people are or why they're important, you're lost. There's no context, no frame of reference. I don't know why Wesker is talking about needing to save research while Chris is wailing about Wesker stealing men's souls--I just know that Chris sounds deranged. And why is the girl shrinking? Does that happen in the game, or is it a joke?

"I don't get these short clips. They probably mean something to someone who knows the game,"
Hit the nail on the head.
This is third video of this sort. It's no different from his first two. If you've seen the first two, then you should know this going in.
Also, a lot, A LOT of Phelous's jokes, even in his regular show, reference Resident Evil. That's why he exaggerates the word "sandwich" so much. It's a Barry Burton quote from the first Resident Evil game. Yeah, you can easily watch his reviews without understanding that, but know that Resident Evil is in a lot more of his episodes than just Resident Hazard, and his Resident Evil movie reviews.

04.06.2011 - 03:58 | RhysduxOh. Thank you, Winkuru. I never heard of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night before. After looking it up, I discovered it's a PlayStation game.
I still don't have any context, though. I don't know why Chris was given those lines (is he an atheist in-game? Is it ridiculous or accurate to say that Wesker is stealing people's souls?), or why (or even IF) the lines were supposed to be humorous.
I suppose NewPhelous assumed that everyone knows these games, and so no intro or summary was needed. Maybe most people do know both games and think that this is very funny. But I've never seen a PlayStation, except in ads. And the humor seems to depend on the audience's familiarity with lots of video games. If you don't know the games, all you're doing is listening to Person A (who you don't know) and Person B (who you also don't know) talk to each other.
The new format--if this is going to be the new format--may work. I think it'll be more popular with fans of Blistered Thumbs, though.

I understand you probably didn't see his other two too, or his PSA, but if you've never played any Resident Evil games, or seen those videos, why did you watch this whole video and then find the need to complain about it? If it's not aimed toward you, then of course you're not going to get it. I don't understand Twilight, so I don't pay attention to it, or find a need to complain to people who do get it.

Haha dude what are you doing? Did you wake up today and think, man I don't have anything to complain about today... Oh look a resident evil based video! I'll complain that the Resident Evil video contains jokes based around Resident Evil! That just don't make no sense at all!
It's silly shorts based around modifying the game and dialog, not a retrospective.

The video is titled Resident Hazard 3, didn't you think to look up the other ones before commenting? Then you'd know it's nothing to do with a new direction of the show, and nothing to do with New Phelous either.
Secondly, why would you watch a video like this if you a, hadn't seen the first two and b, played the games the material is taken from? The problem lies with you not knowing the references, not the material itself, so you have nothing to complain about. It's clearly not meant for you, so just move on to the next video. It's like going to a soccer game and then complaining that you don't like soccer to those around you who are just trying to enjoy the game...why are you wasting their time and yours?

Awesome, love me some Resident Hazard. I liked the adding of audio from other games as it gives it a nice variety. How about a Resident Evil/House of the Dead mash up of crappy dialogue? Or chuck some Silent Hill in there?
They go in the back to see the tyrant, and it's the dog from Silent Hill 2...Chris laughs and calls it pitiful and it blows them all up. Yaaaaay, I wrote a crappy Resident Hazard sketch....but you get the idea, I'm sure you'd make it better.

Trolling is when you purposely post false information to get people to leave an angry reaction comment; or leave a falsified reaction comment to a factual one. The purpose of the falsified information is to provoke a STRONG reaction.
What Phelous is doing, however, is pointing out that by complaining about something without understanding (or taking the time to TRY to understand) the context said material is being used in, you thereby throw your credibility out the window and make yourself look like a TOTAL DOUCHE. If anyone is trolling, it's the guy who is complaining about something he doesn't know about.
Also, I find it funny that "OldPhelous" started this Resident Hazard series, yet when he updates it (been waiting for an update for a WHILE now, actually) you make yourself out to be a hypocrite by saying "this new stuff sucks. I want OldPhelous."

The Chris/Richter VA also did work in the PSX game "The Note." LPer MikeNnemonic did a playthrough of it, which ends with his emulator crashing and unable to see the ending...so he improvised it.
Hilariously bad game all around, and worth it for the ear-grating dialogue.

04.06.2011 - 12:06 | ThatGuyWithTheSaxophoneThank you, Phelous!!!! Ever since I got RE: Remake (the only RE game, I played besides RE4 and The Umbrella Chronicles, I have to admit), I was PISSED that they took out "the master of unlocking" and the "Jill sandwich"! So this means a lot to me - yeah xD

I can't even say I got most of this because my only experience with the series is from Phelous's reviews.
